Forum related / How are lost account recovered here
« on: May 23, 2024, 05:36:48 PM »
I'm curious how individuals that lost access to their account recovered it and what was the evidence to back their claim.
Been and still in a situation where I forgot my password for my BTT and the email and just recently found out that there's a thread where one can stake addresses in case of such occurrence. I'm curious how Altcointalk run its own.
one thing that has worked well in another forum is to stack any cryptocurrency address
I'll give you an example
if I write my btc address in a thread
bc11111
and someone quotes it, this is carved in rock

if by chance a bad hacker steals my account, I send an email to the admin and tell him
dear admin I'm really babo, this is the staked address in the xxx thread and this is the message signed with that address
admin recovers my account

end

nice idea, also can be implement no problem. I will make a section that is not visible to guests or below member rank , where you can stak addresses
I saw this reply by the admin on staking addresses. Has this been implemented yet?  If so can I be redirected to the thread.  Thank You.

Ethereum Forum / Re: CAN I EARN JUST BY HOLDING MY ETHEREUM
« on: May 23, 2024, 02:54:33 PM »
You can choose to buy altcoins under the Ethereum blockchain like Pepe and the past few days has mirrored this rise.
There are others like Shiba that's under and I believe would benefit from any news that screams positive for ETH since their market cap and price  is relatively lower and thus more volatile than ETH itself.
If you going long term though you can hold BTC and add some ETH to it.

Forum related / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day at AltcoinsTalks
« on: May 22, 2024, 11:34:34 PM »
I was surprised by the lack of activity about the pizza day. This is the first thread am seeing today commemorating the Bitcoin pizza day.
Yeah competitions would be nice and the reward doesn't have to be huge.
The beauty and fun in participating is enough. Admin did something like this during Xmas and I really enjoyed the competition expected more but never saw any again.
Well anybody can commence the competition though. It would be fun seeing a competition that requires skill or knowledge and not just chance.

Money doesn't have to be the only reward a badge or even karma would do.

Suggestion Box / Re: [Sugestion] Old Posts Remove
« on: May 10, 2024, 12:27:39 AM »
When the Admin did some reshuffling and organization I lost a karma and activity from a deleted post if am not mistaken
But was later rectified
I think deleting would be too extreme. They can be better moved to archive and who needs such post can head there. We kill two birds, organisation and keeping past history.

Forum related / Campaigns and Forums Traffic
« on: April 27, 2024, 10:38:58 PM »
Hopefully this is the right Board to ask this. Well it's nothing much just some question about activeness of members in the forum.
I think there have been some decline in the number of active members for sometime now
1. Is this as a result of low /lack of signature campaign
2. Or it's because of the low traffic that there's low number of campaigns
3. Or maybe both
4. Or The forum is still it's growing phase and haven't gotten to the height of having active users per hour in Thousands or reached campaigns that would be interested in promoting their product.

The essence of this is it's like there's a significant relationship between campaigns and how active the forum gets.
TBH joined the forum because it was relatively new and would allow me build a reputation if I joined Now and maybe enable me to gain access to better campaigns in the long run.
There are many users that have stayed in the forum and continue been active not mainly for the monetary benefit but as a form of love for their community.
I know belongness as times goes on starts overwhelming monetary benefits while in a community but before then did Campaign play a role in making you active or your desire to seek more knowledge?
Thank you.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: OP_CAT and Bitcoin
« on: April 26, 2024, 09:53:35 PM »
Any idea why it was disabled by Satoshi? I have been meaning to learn about various script. Seeing and reading people using it in their thread always get me lost, so started doing research and I recently finished learning something's about OP Return, How to change its format to text or hexagonal and the reason it was introduced.
So there's OP CAT and it can enable the creation of smart Contracts
Wouldn't something like this increase congestion?  Or is it a better alternative to runes and ordinals. Thanks.

For long run keeping then container of money i.e if it means holding in a non custodial wallet  and for easy convertion of holdings then CEX. It all depends on your goals.
If this isn't what you meant you could try and elaborate but a wallet should be as private and have only your access like your normal Pocket wallet.

Welcome Jambler to Altcointalks. The praises of BTT members is proof of your quality and customer service. Hopefully the site would start generating traffic that would make been here worth it.

I can't say that I'm not disappointed either, but as for the mixers, I understand that they raised a lot of dust in the country where the BTT admin is from, and who is also not an anonymous person, and could have serious problems if he continued to allow their advertising. However, as far as I know, there is a special provision in the law (US) that exempts the advertiser from liability, I just don't know if it applies to the forum or only to people who advertise something.

However, what is disappointing is the sudden change of attitude towards Jambler just because some (jealous) members were persistent in Jambler removal from BTT.

Wow I'm surprised Theymos isn't anonymous. it's risky though, what would be done if the government option for Compulsory KYC and attack Non KYC platform just like it did Mixers or privacy oriented coins.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Looking for a way to optimize my strategy
« on: April 23, 2024, 01:24:26 PM »
This is not a very attractive strategy to me. Yes never selling in loss is good but selling just after 2% is not a good strategy. What would happen after selling and bitcoin never comes back to that level and continue flying. This is why it is advisable to Hold and even if you selling 2% is too small and make sure you never a nocoiner.
Anything can happen. It might or it might not reach your lowest level, Just make sure you cautious and not swayed by your emotions.
Personally I still believe in holding and if you taking profit make sure it's worth it. Like collecting 25% first and maybe another 25% when it shoots more but no matter what i would advice never selling all your coins.

I don't advice entering a competition when you not yet skilled or experienced.
Is not worth it
You will make losses that wouldn't meet the reward. Future trading is risky like very risky as a newbie trader focus on spot to build your experience before jumping in a sea filled with sharks.
Don't forget people competing are individuals that have been running future trading for years or sometime. Not to sound persimistic I don't see you winning. Just focus on building on your skill steadily and gaining experience in spot not future though.
Personally though I would advice on long term holding. It's more profitable and less risky in the long run.

Just so everyone is aware, I do have the answer to this contest. The team is not able to make any changes. If a winner makes a correct guess and the team doesn't see it, i'll contact them and let them know to check here.

FYI, these are 2 separate contests. The numbers on each forum are different so the guesses there have nothing to do with here.
Ooh is there anyway more clue can be added in the one here?  @8ombard
Because picking from 1-10000 is kinda hard without further clues.Thanks.
