i wonder what makes you trust a new altcoin? what you're looking for in their company page etc...?

In order to put your trust in a new altcoin you should take the neccessary steps to check if that altcoin is legit and safe to invest. Check the dev team and if it has transparency in the public, also check the roadmap, white paper and the support from the community to minimize the risks of your investment. However it is not an assurance but it can minimize the risk.

Trial and error from previous successful ICO
Appearing in various influencer or ICO benchmark websites

I always look at the team behind it and whether it's from an established company with track record. Case in point: VLUX - http://vlux.io/

I trust a new altcoin when i see the following requirements has been fulfilled:

- Whitepaper with full Information including legit documents and brief.

- Legal documents(for example: Registration under Estonia law, SEC, Chamber of Commerce etc)

- Good Team member with reputation.

- Good advisors with reputation.

- Good working product

- Background of the company(optional)

- Road Map

- Background info of the whole team

- GitHub code


So, when I see this info is fulfilled I trust the new altcoin.

Don't forget to the community of new alternative coins, the power of people is very important including the numbers of investors of the new coins, this information can be found from the data of selling coins in the first stage usually on the ICOs stage or pre sale of the ICOs, without the community new alternative coins are nothing

Agree with you all. Those requirements should be fulfilled firstly. Although, of course those do not guarantee 100%. 

Bitcoin was sucessfull started from the community, there are no values in bitcoin on the early but the community of bitcoin always use it and share to other people about the benefits of the blockchain and decentralize, we can see the result right now : D

First of all I look at their social networks and posts to telegram. They I take a look at team and advisors if they are well known. Then I look at white paper and ask myself if this project really is different from competitors

First of all, I look for team members, and mostly in developers, because in their hands what project can be tomorrow.
But if I find I a strong adviser that I know has handled several ICOs at a high level of quality, then I pay attention to this matter also.
Longs things short, I look first of all at developers and advisers.

I got many times scammed as bounty hunter despite big community at social media of a project, and despite good SMM.
Then I switched to looking about team mates.

I trust a new altcoin when I realize the project is unique and it will solve a major problem. If I understand the project very well and realize the team members have good reputation. If I also realize the company has started something concerning the project and it has become successful.

I will not trust any new altcoins which are not listed on exchanges. It should have volume and value in the market. Those are the requirements I actually needed before I invest to an altcoin.

Yes, listing on exchanges can indicate a project's strength, but it may turn out to be too late when they are already listed but you had a unique possibility to get tokens at a lower price.
