Title: How is EOS different than other altcoins?
Post by: anoyance on October 22, 2017, 11:58:19 PM
It is the only major coin that explicitly states that it has no rights, functionality or features (and may never be redeemable for something of value).

I think the real value of EOS will show up next summer when the new blockchain gets deployed. Current ERC20 token is only meant to be swapped 1:1 for native EOS tokens. In the end they plan to release a completely new blockchain with cutting functionality such as smart contacts. When we have some news about development on going I'm sure the value will skyrocket.

Who knows what EOS is as far as there is not any white paper

I don't think EOS will be that big. By the time the ico has ended, ether would have increased much more in value.

Was considering it but no whitepaper, no rights? No value!

This is what I believe too....it is more promising a coin than it looks now

I understand that they have a whitepaper now, so the team must be working :)

CEO, Brendan Blumer, and CTO, Daniel Larimer, talk how they got started in the blockchain space.

New short video from Eos.io explaining how these 2 amazing creators and developpers discovered Blockchain and what they achieved before coming together to develop EOS.

It is the only major coin that explicitly states that it has no rights, functionality or features (and may never be redeemable for something of value).

This is mainly to protect them from regulations since the securities regulators in countries are starting to crack down on ICOs.  I think EOS has a lot of potential.  To me, it's always quite valuable when the developers have worked on prior blockchain projects which the EOS developers have.

I think EOS will be an ethereum killer when they can hold what they promise. If not, its just another coin, I agree.

At present EOS is still an ERC20 token below the ethereum blockchain, hopefully by this year they will release their own blockchain to enable the EOS token to be swapped to become their own coin.

EOS is a new coin that is different from other altcoins that use hardfork. This coin uses delegated evidence of shares, where each witness node will be nominated for a network.

The difference between EOS and other altcoins is that EOS is a blockchain technology that aims to attract investors to offer faster transactions. In addition, EOS is a coin that has a better scale than ether.

They declared themselves so. But in fact they have almost everyday bugs and people want not use this. I mean there is almost no ICOs on EOS platform and people using old Ethereum. So I dont think that EOS a good competitor of Ethereum. And for example Stellar looks like much better than EOS an working fine.
