Altcoins vs Tokens

Recently there are tokens which became profitable for investors not because they have a strong community but the technology they are developing for their project and platform are good and the profitability for investors are well defined in the platform. Do you think ERC20 tokens can stand long term on its own even if they do not develop their own coin / blockchain?

I’m new to crypto but I was able to understand the basic differences between coins and tokens. If I bought tokens what exactly am I getting! Am I giving the developers money to build their product, hopefully succeed. But what am I really getting for my money. Right now it seems like a lottery ticket. Maybe I'll win a lot of money and maybe I won't.

I think Altcoin and Token it is same profitable.
I invest in Altcoin and Token too, why must choose one when both is better.

I think good tokens is more profitable than altcoins. But many tokens are scams. I personally prefer altcoins than tokens.

I think ERC20 wasn't long survived because the Ethereum network already has scalability problems. and then Ethereum Foundation is still promoting the ERC20 standard event tokens when it is known to contain bugs. The same situation as it was with TheDAO previously. They need to say "Stop this now" but they will not.

I am impress with ur logic Bro. Yea, technically we do a investment speculation when we buy ICO tokens, but that lottery risk can be reduced with intensive research. A lot tokens without working product.

Well I prefer wait until they launch their own main-net, but for Coins at least they have a courage for launch a product first.

Yes, as long as they continue to develop their project and the people would use the tokens for its actual use case. There are coins that has its own blockchain but still, the demand is not that strong because investors cannot see its future being very good. These tokens may decide to create their own blockchain eventually when the project is doing good but they can still use other blockchain and still be able to do their goals.

I think as long as the ethereum network still exists and still works well, then the erc20 token can stand for a long-term because they were using this network to make a transaction. But I still prefer with the altcoin especially for altcoin which has the history for a long time ago because this altcoin can survive with bitcoin and it still profitable until now.

Atcoins and token are mistakenly used  interchangeably by most people but there is a difference between the two crypto currencies .The main difference between them is in their structure altcoins are separate currencies with their own separate blockchain while tokens operate on top of blockchain that facilitates the creation of decentralized applications. All cyrpto currencies other than bitcoin are alternative to it.

I think they will be able to develop new projects and platforms that are more potential and more developed in the future. I think like this. If indeed they experience and make developments here, for me, I will still survive this ERC20 token. I'm sure of that. Some Erc20 is good too and has a potential same with altcoins i choose them both because i earn from them and i'm sure erc20 can stand for along term.

If the team does not develop, ERC20 can be displaced by other coins that have good technology. All altcoins have teams that are tasked with developing every technology they have. So if the ether #DevelopmentTeam  does not develop, I am sure that even though their large community will be moved slowly.
