If it is planned thing binance will fall.

All blockchains from the third generation are with some form of proof of stake. So the future is there and big plus for the technology is the fast mining of the blocks but PoS brings inherited centralization. Another question is how the different blockchains combat the problem  ;)

3
For faster and cheaper I'll be looking at cardano, stellar and ripple. Ethereum block mining is somewhere in the region of 12s per block while the others are 2-3 seconds per block.

Cardano Forum / Re: Better reason to HODL some Cardano

That is great news. Maybe my predictions for the price at the end of the year were little conservative given the news we are hearing in the last few weeks.

Solidity / Re: What is Solidity ?

Anyone has an idea where we can write and play with it, like a sandbox type of testnet thingy?

It is way better than 'go'. I don't know if you have seen the "smart contracts" of hyperledger in their private networks but for something which you will write in solidity with maybe 30 lines code, with go there will be atleast 300 lines. And big positive in solidity is the close syntax relatively speaking to js and c#.

Solidity / Re: Where to Start
« on: March 07, 2018, 01:02:43 AM »
What would be a good place to start? I want to start by running some sample smart contracts, but all I see are examples of solidity and I do not even know where I can test them without spending gas. I downloaded geth but could not really figure out how to enter commands to the console. Do I need to install solidity as a program or something?

You can use the remix ide (online) to write sample contracts which you can deploy in the JavaScript VM(Virtual Machine with the virtual addresses with 100 virtual eth each), you can use metamask and you can make account in the ropsten network(test network of ethereum and you can get some EthT from facets, with which you can test your contract - Injected Web3) or you can use your machine web3 provider.

pp. remix ide http://remix.ethereum.org/#optimize=false&version=soljson-v0.4.20+commit.3155dd80.js
pp. if you use windows there are some problems with the first use of web3 on the computer (from old versions of c++ ) so you would have to write this in power shell as admin
npm install --global --production windows-build-tools
and then install web3 globally

Solidity / Re: do we need solidity member
« on: March 07, 2018, 12:48:23 AM »
If you have a good background in c#, java or javascript, solidity can be learned for week at the most. The language is very simple, it is used only for the smart contract and big part of the code for the apps (let say wallet, interactions with the blockchain, making the website or even apps like cryptokitties) are written in javascript and of course you can always use nuget packages (like nethereum) and write in c# which for me is the most intuitive language with maybe the best ide.

pp. i hate "go" and by default hyperledger and the private blockchains but for me this is the future for the big corporations and the governments, while the eth blockchain will remain for relatively small projects.

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: ETH price is going up again ?
« on: March 07, 2018, 12:35:02 AM »
The volatility in the price can be expected. At the moment the price is switching between $800 and $1000 but lets not forget that we had all time high of $1400 at the beginning of January. I believe that it is more than reasonable to expect price in the region of $2000 to $3000 at the end of the year. The only question is when we will see the next bull run for Ethereum.

IOTA Forum / Re: IOTA in trouble
« on: March 03, 2018, 10:11:20 PM »
I'm wary of IOTA. The idea is good and maybe in the future I would invest in IOTA, but at the moment for me this is just a coin with interesting potential which can go belly up at any moment or if there are no big problems the price most likely will remain stable so I don's see big potential for growth in the next six to twelve months.
Big problem for the blockchain is the tangle technology itself. You can imagine it like river stream and all nodes conect with some node downstream and at the final there is this trusted super node (the head quarters of IOTA with their servers). Which makes the blockchain centralized and I don't expect growth in the coin before the devs find solution to this problem.

Stellar Forum / Re: Stellar is public infrastructure for money.
« on: March 01, 2018, 01:37:36 AM »
Stellar the better alternative of ripple (it use the code of ripple with some things written over it). I myself quite like stellar and can't understand the lower valuation compared to ripple, maybe the marketing is not so good, but this only mean that there is room for growth. Objectively speaking the price must be 2 times the price of ripple but at the moment it is only third of that. Let see if ripple will fall or stellar will fly  ;)

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: Should ripple removed from the crypto???

It is one think to control what is happening with project and where it is going and it is altogether different to control 63% of the coins with the means to flood the market with coins. Just imagine what will happen with the price if tomorrow the owners sell 1 bln coins.

Are people still mining? I mined 300 coins and that is for me because there is no info for the project. All I can find is that the mining is done in the browser and there are billions of potential miners but what is the function of the coin, for what will be used? Will there be smart contracts, will the coin be used for specific purpose or will this be a simple value storage? What is the total supply of the coins? All I see is web site where you can mine with no explanations of the purpose.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: ripple gonna pump up this 2018
« on: February 24, 2018, 10:18:15 PM »
Ripple is making shockwaves. There's gonna be earthquakes and tsunamis. Buy now and make big profits. $100 before December 2018.
I just got a hunch, $100 by September.

For us to see $100 per coin it will mean that the market price of ripple is some 30 times the market price of bitcoin at $10 000 or in other words to have a parity of ripple and bitcoin with price of $100 for XRP, bitcoin must be at $300 000 per coin.
