yes, that's one good choice to avoid hacker attacks,
and even better if the wallet is like ledger nano, because it can be synchronized with several large DEX. so we don't have to bother sending our funds if we want to trade or exchange our assets with other assets.

I have never used exchange wallets and I don’t intend to, I’m used to working with cryptocurrencies all the time using only different exchange markets and I’m not going to change anything.

Stay away from exchange wallet at all cost because it is not safe to keep your coins.
No exchange is 100% secure and hackerproof. Remember what happened to MT. Gox, and now Binance?
I think crypto exchanges are good for exchanging coins but not good for HODLing coins.
Use any type of wallet to HODL your coins but not on the exchnages, it is not safe!

For me I prefer the exchange market comparing the exchange wallet I think all of them have their own disadvantage and advantage because no project has a 100% trust you can only prefer based on your own level of conviction you have  in all this we still need to be security conscious.

both are useful. exchange wallet makes the business faster and  while the exchange market makes trading easier and faster but tokens are not save. you may loose your tokens incase of any breach.

Exchange markets are better than others because there is clarity for prices.
When viewed from its function, the wallet exchange is designed easier but has a gap in the price of each coin in various markets.
