I think this is too difficult because many governments are acting against the cryptocurrencies but some countries are trying making own digital currency and BTC is high volatility coin but nowadays many people are adopting the digital currencies and digital payments systems so in future anything can happen.

Why does Bitcoin need to surpass Fiat? I don't think it is needed and it is a bit hard to happen. I am not sure if we can manage finance without Fiat at all. In my opinion, Bitcoin is an option to support the world's economy and financial sector. It makes sense as Fiat has some weaknesses nowadays. People need transparency and fast transaction world wide. Bitcoin offers the solution, even it doesn't need the third party and can be sent at any time.

This isn't ideal, bitcoin is completely different from fiat. Why do you think traders and investors often sell their bitcoin to fiat when it peak. Fiat is useful same as btc for store of value and exchange of value, fiat is very important in real world and hedge against bitcoin drop and volatility.

This will not happen and after 20 years. The economy of states cannot be served by cryptocurrency, only national money. Cryptocurrency can complement fiat currencies with its new capabilities, however, it will always be near the national money of states.

Are you sure it is already surpassed Fiat? I don't think so, buddy. I think Fiat is still leading and it is used as the main tool for payment purposes. It is hard to separate people by using Fiat because Fiat has a big role and it is effective to use in the country that has a limitation for the internet and technology. Unless Bitcoin can be used around the world, Fiat is still leading.

I think It is possible. Bitcoin is the future technology, I don't think the future technology will be refused by country.
They will accept this technology at the coming future.

Yes, I think It is true. Many governments against the cryptocurrencies and some countries are trying making own digital currency. Bitcoin also was blocked at several countries. So, It is really difficult for bitcoin to surpass fiat money.

I agree with you that the country's economy needs both things to enhance bitcoin can't be compared to fiat because there's tons of relationship between the 2 at work but i feel the demand for crypto is above fiat. Cryptocurrencies are decentralized in nature then there's no government intervention it's a cryptocurrency system supported blockchain technology that identifies secure payments for online transactions as virtual tokens automatically pointing to inherent entries within the system.

Day by day btc popularity increasing rapidly. In this era people prefer to transect crypto currency. It is more easier and reliable. On the other hand Fiat money is a currency established as money, often by government regulation. So if btc surpass fiat money then govt. will not accept that. Then they will stand against btc. More over in the world most of the country not accept crypto currency. But good news is that many countries are trying to implement crypto currency.

Bitcoin will not surpass or seperate fiat money from our daily life. Fiat money is a part of our life where virtual currency like Bitcoin is not a part and will not a compulsory part of our lives. Rather, Bitcoin will work as an assistant of Fiat money in the future. For its nature, no govt will legalize it fully.

it's impossible to surpass fiat or replace it by crypto technology. banks can use bank note and other form of acceptable money to economy. it does not need by now BTC or any coins currency. I think crypto currency should compliment FIAT in any ways but not to replace it. FIAT is known many years ago and it's widely used and acceptable in all countries in the world.

Lol! In terms of equivalent it way long surpassed USD. but in terms of adoption, usability, I believe Bitcoin will never surpass fiat money. The main reason is that the government are keeping Bitcoin in place. Aside from that, Bitcoin is not yet ready for mass adoption. It still needs a lot of upgrades and testing. In digital world we need fast pace confirmation and Bitcoin somehow fail on that.

Also, personally I think Fiat is always needed because of the limitation to use the internet. So, people won't use Bitcoin only for payment tool, even in the future.

Maybe It is possible, But It will happen at the next future, when the crypto currencies are more popular and be needed at the world. For now, I don't think bitcoin can surpass fiat money. Becaue I see bitcoin has blocked by several countries. They didn't support bitcoin.

No for now, maybe later. Human transaction history had nothing to do with money. In fact, it was agreement in both parties

No mate, Bitcoin will not surpass fiat money. I think many countries will have Blockchain technology for their Crypto currency at the coming future. They will support their currency, not Bitcoin. At several countries, Bitcoin have Ben blocked.

I think its impossible because maximum government still not accepting BTC and at the same time fiat money also making transaction digitally just by one click. People not carry now fiat money that was risk and also can make transaction fiat money by credit or debit card. I think in future there would be a competition b2n fiat money and digital currency.

No, bitcoin will never surpass the currency of states. It was created as an alternative means of payment for this currency, but it will always be with the currencies of states and is not able to replace them.
In order for bitcoin to replace the currency of states, the consent of their governments is needed, and this simply cannot be. The economy of states cannot operate on a decentralized cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency will deregulate the economy of any strong state in a few days.

As we have seen, BTC was once the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world, when 1 BTC = $10 000. Currently 1 YFI = $35 000.

I think that until the scam issue is put under control, cryptos won't become the main currency globally. I really didn't think that this is happen because Crypto currency is already banned by some countries .
Their is 99% population who used fait currency , this is true that Crypto popularity incraese day by day but we can't say that Crypto currency decreased value of fait currency.

In general, cryptocurrencies cannot outperform the currencies of states. It can only beat fiat in price. For the rest, the cryptocurrency will exist only along with the money of the states. States will not massively use decentralized cryptocurrency. With the advent of central bank stablecoins, governments have found a good replacement for cryptocurrencies.

So far, not one state has made the launch of its national digital currency completely successful. We only see testing of the digital yuan in China right now, but it's not finished yet, so it's too early to draw conclusions.

I think even though progress on crypto has been proven, I don't think it's as easy as what you think that the country also wants to try to do to renew by making too. because regulations must be made and very strict provisions need to be established. because so far with fiat alone the state has been confused by the existing regulations, no one wants to try to make it even more dizzy.

This question was asked a long time ago but like many others, I still think cryptos are very far from taking the place of fiat money.

What governments do at the state level cannot be called a classic cryptocurrency. Because any national digital currency will be centralized. This means that it will no longer be a cryptocurrency.

I don't think so because Bitcoin was just limited in supply while the fiat is unlimited because the central Bank can easily print fiat money base on each countries economic capacity that's why Bitcoin cannot surpass the traditional fiat currencies.

I agree about it mate. But I see several countries have still block and refuse bitcoin, they worry, because cannot control bitcoin and afraid their fiat money will down. I hope bitcoin will be accepted all countries, because It is the future technology.

Fiat money is hard to replace or surpass, I think Bitcoin is in its own way. It won't compete with Fiat but it offers a new solution for the world financial system to the world. I just see the chance for Bitcoin to support Fiat, or it can collaborate with fiat to make a better world financial system. Bitcoin offers the speed, cheap transaction fees, and capable to transfer any time and to any people around the world. Fiat doesn't have all of these things.

Fiat money is unlikely to be replaced by cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency is not yet widespread enough in the world and its share in the economy is weak.

Fyi, Bitcoin already did that in terms of value. Bitcoin already surpass the entire currency in the world where actually btc is the center of attraction these days due to massive pump from dump. Even Bitcoin fluctuate and unstable still there are more investors interested and coming in to invest.

Yes you are right, bitcoin hasn't been supported by bank and government. So I don't believe bitcoin will surpass fiat money. Maybe the value of bitcoin will higher than fiat money, but It cannot replace fiat money.

I really want to ask, what did you mean by surprising fiat money? Is it for replacing fiat? I don't think so. I always say that replacing fiat as the currency is very difficult to do. Because:
- Many people are not ready for that big change
- Government will not accept it
- It relates to the bank, and banks will not accept it
- Bitcoin is very volatile and it will make it difficult to be daily payment
- People in developing countries are not ready yet
