Gambling discussion / Re: Do you tell your husband you gamble?
« on: April 28, 2024, 10:57:23 PM »
I am wondering why husbands don't have any idea about the wifes gambling activities? If they are living together, then why bother not saying anything right? Or even if you don't, your husband will still knew it and as long as you both are financially stable and talk about it I think it doesn't really matter.

I never knew this was possible so usually just copy the address and send without confirming much. Well turns out that was a big mistake on my part. Never knew that clipboard can do such. I don't know if it's a malware, I ended up using an address that wasn't mine and funny holds some units of Bitcoin.

Still confused how something like this could happen,  but try to be cautious and don't feel too lazy to cross check your address before sending or posting. Recall Bitcoin transactions are irreversible after 6 confirmations, once confirmed it's gone. You can tell the wallet address it went to but not the owner. Except they are careless,  which I doubt they are.
This happened to me once with Bybit during withdrawal transactions I copied a random wallet address and I double check on it and it's different on the wallet address destination so I carefully copied my own address and it's successfully tranferred. Lucky for me I saw that address before tapping confirm if not it would end very badly for my funds. So next time guys I highly recommend please double check before sending transactions as we all know transactions are irreversible.

I agree with you, in summary of all you've just said is that in order to maintain your finances and for you to grow financially, set a good budget, so that you can control your spending.
That is what really we should do every day because if we don't have set of goals with us we will end up spending every penny we have on our purses. That is what will drive us to the top. We should also be responsible and patient.
Financial management matters a lot in our lives, because anyone with poor financial management will not know his important needs and put them first. Rather they will spend their funds on what is not necessary or important to them. This will make you not have enough to save and invest, because you will not be able to manage and trim down your expenses in order for you to have extra funds that you can use for something important in future.
Exactly. And this actually happened to me once before. Mismanagement really cause disaster to our funds as we might spend it all indiscrimately for nonsense things and that would make us regret in the long run. If only we knew it early, if only I can go back time but yeah it's all done and what done is done.

i just watched the Civil War 2024 movie, quite scary if it happens where you are in the middle of the wars of groups you don't wanna join.
there's a scene in the movie where they tried buying gas which when they said they have Canadian Dollar and the group of individuals who ruled that place accepted the money.  it looks like Canadian Dollar is  still sought after. i hoping to see crypto wasn't introduced there but none.

if we are in this kind of situation where the electricity is still on like its normal situation still and internet is accessible, wouldn't it make sense for the warlords to accept BTC and other crypto?
I think that would be safer way to store the money through Bitcoin in that kind of situation compared to having fiat currency or physical money or precious metals that can be looted or robbed. Though phones and devices can be looted but as long as you have the private keys of your wallet it is still safe.

I think investors were forced to hodl because of the higher fees right now. 😁 I think the 2020 halving was also affected by the pandemic that is why it's not that great as 2024 so yeah we'll observe this until 2028 because I know there are a lot of thing that will happen along the way of Bitcoins next halving and that will surely affect the price actionin 4 years cycle.
Yes, most of the investors have to hodl their Bitcoin because the fees currently are very high as compare to previous days. I think something is happening in background, why have fees risen to such high levels after halving?

I'm sure that after the halving event most miners won't be disappoint because of those high fees, as they are getting some goof rewards in the form of fees. Yes, I also agree that so many things will happen before 2028's halving.

I'm pretty sure that in next halving Bitcoin's price will go over $150k or at least 2x of its current halving value that's going to be $126k. Let's see what will happen in 2028's halving event.
High fees is due to Runes token that was launched the same day halving event had happened. But right now it has come down to atleast more or less $2. It is good to hodl Bitcoins if we have a stable job but if not it's disaster since we might sell it when we loss it's value due to correction especially in times we need to cash it out. Though we still have time to accumulate so we just need to relax no pressure and buy when we have extra money through DCA.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Future of Bitcoin
« on: April 28, 2024, 10:12:53 PM »
Buying bitcoin in advance will bring huge profits, but removing doubts when buying in advance there is something that is not easy to do. We also never thought the price of Bitcoin was this expensive. But learning from this, we can practice it on other coins, as long as we have done research first before buying.
Not everyone dares to take the risk of buying bitcoin, especially when bitcoin is in a correction phase, when the price of bitcoin is below $20k,
many expect the price of bitcoin to fall even lower and quite a few are hesitant to buy. I think being brave enough to take risks when the bitcoin price corrects can definitely make quite a big profit. Its very difficult to see any one brave for investing in bitcoin since lower price and doubt will bitcoin raise another lower price or have another dip?
That is why only those investors who has courage and can afford to take the risk has the highest chance to make huge profit as well. But for those who hesitate they sometimes buy at peak. But the solution to this is if we really are committed to buying Bitcoin we have to do the DCA other than that would be much more risky.

Yeah for now kabayan I am currently using Bybit, OKX, MEXC at Bitget.

Gambling discussion / Re: Whats your experience with gambling?
« on: April 28, 2024, 02:35:54 PM »
Hi everyone!
Here, I invite you to share personal stories about your gambling journey — whether you've had big wins, faced losses or just dabble occasionally for fun.
Or maybe you have strange gambling habits  :D

Whether you're a seasoned gambler or a casual player, your experiences are interesting.

I have been gambling normally for four years, four years I have not gained much experience in gambling yet I lose sometimes.  So winning in gambling is uncertain, I only currently gamble to win the jackpot, but no way I have ever seen a jackpot.  But again I started betting on football and cricket, betting on these football and cricket teams is the most current earning possible.  It is also possible to earn money gambling in unique aspects but I am most inclined towards Jackpot and these cricket and football games.
Nice choice! But for me since I am not a fan of football I am into boxing or UFC in short combat sports. Though I am just betting against my neighbors the reason why I only get like $10-$100 depending on the placed bets I also play lottery but yeah never had won the jackpot too elusive for me. 😅

Yes and no. Some people that came from a religious family may sometimes realize that what they did was wrong because based on my observation I can see gamblers going to church here in my place and that might be a way for them to stop. No because some of them are not that religious or even forget their religion when gambling I knew some of them even if it was forbidden but they keep on doing it especially casino and other form of gambling activities. It will really depends on someones decision whether they have to stop or not especially gambling addicts who has a deeper relation to gambling.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Anonymity - good or bad?
« on: April 28, 2024, 02:23:04 PM »
Well I think tax evasion in cryptocurrency works only thorugh p2p but when we are using local exchange or wallets that provides conversion to local currency it's already included the tax I think. Unless we declare our crypto income we are subject to withholding taxes but if it's through p2p it's unlikely to happen. Though I only trust those high reputable people in exchanges especially those who have the best feedbacks so the possibility of being scammed is quite low.

Regarding anonymity, since we all know that it is what it is here in crypto space then we should have to differentiate scams from legit. Just like believing in anonymous team from a project we wanted to invest in I think we should do something.

Sometimes anonymity has positive and an advantage for especially here on the internet some people prefer to be anonymous and some just don't care but me persnally I like being anonymous.

12
Nah, never had one, though I was planning to get a loan from trusted and highly reputable members in the other forum before but I was hesitant because I don't know if I can repay on time or not since I don't have any stable job yet.

13
Understanding the concept of what they are going to invest is very crucial and necessary otherwise losing one assets is inevitable especially since the market is too volatile, I mean the entire cryptocurrency market is too volatile therefore self study really matter's a lot before one should go into investment.
Yeah exactly because jumping into something we don't know especially in investments is a suicide or some kind of a gambling . And doing that is double the risk of the cryptocurrency's volatile nature. If we are not that sure then I guess better not try or else losing is very possible.

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Cost of living
« on: April 28, 2024, 01:49:41 PM »
....
Thank you !
I would also add - the problem with the modern world is that most people try to look for "convenient" explanations for what is happening, afraid to recognize reality, to admit their guilt, afraid to start doing what really needs to be done.

And so they "solve problems" that are not the real cause of what is happening..... I hope the world will change !
Exactly instead of criticizing I think it is better to help the government even in a simple but good deeds to atleast do our part as a citizen because I know it was just a small thing but it will contribute to the growth of our economy and may also improve our cost of living.

Of course - we all have obligations, civic obligations. And it is not only to demand something from the government/authority, but also to do something ourselves. Or not to do - not to do bad deeds, not to hide taxes, not to cover criminals, not to contribute to corruption....

There is a nuance - if the government/authority's only goal is their own enrichment, it is definitely not worth helping them :)
Yeah exactly, the only problem here is that majority wants money and that is I think very common during elections. Different side of the story but I am expecting something inappropriate will happen when all of these corrupt will be elected. Whether we like it or not we can do nothing about it to kick em out because majority won't care due to the fact that they manage yo get bribe money during elections. Sad reality.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Phoenix Wallet to be removed from US app stores
« on: April 28, 2024, 01:34:35 PM »
Just when you thought the fallout from Samourai Wallet's demise couldn't get any worse, here we are again with news from last night that apparently, Phoenix Wallet is planning to cut off all their US app users.

Phoenix Wallet is not just a Bitcoin Wallet, it is also a Lightning Wallet, and that is a big problem since Phoenix Wallet opens the channels for you, which also means that those channels are soon going to be cut (or in Lightning Network jargon "closed").

I don't know why US government are just clamping on Bitcoin a d it's users, was it because they are unable to regulate the whole idea behind a decentralized network or this is just an internal issues they have developed with Phoenix wallet team or developers, honestly we can't keep on seeing the way attacks upon attacks like this will continue till we have nothing left to enjoy about the use of bitcoin, just as the had on mixers, do they want us not to achieve our main goals with bitcoin by coming in different dimensions for attacks on bitcoin users.
Maybe because of "control" I mean they want everything within their regulations. They only problem here is that my country will follow such move just like what had happened to Binance. Though I am not using Phoenix wallet but things like this is quite alarming as we might lose decentralization one day just because of action like this.
