Between ETH and BTC which one is more preferable?

Preferable for what? You should add more explanation if you want to start a meaningful discussion about this. Not to mention the debate around ETH vs other coins like BTC is not new so you can probably find some answers before creating a new topic. It doesn't have to be that complex. For example, preferable for defi or layer-2 development, security or decentralization purpose, privacy, etc. Not everyone want to stay in BTC forever because they want to make profits through airdrop hunting, for example. On the other hand, someone dislike ETH because it lacks decentralization feature based on their standard.

BTC is still the number 1 crypto coin. It has bigger role for crypto industry. Ethereum remains the second biggest coin in crypto for many years, it can't beat Bitcoin. It just proved that Bitcoin is better than other crypto coins, including Ethereum.

As long as Bitcoin doesn't lose its role in crypto space. I'm sure BTC will be always better than ETH.

When you mention that ETH is more preferable than Bitcoin and you write about it in this forum, then you should at least explain the reason because this is sharing. Both ETH and BTC are actually equally profitable.

But for me, Bitcoin is still the best. Not only because Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency created so it holds tight control over other cryptocurrencies. But there are several reasons why Bitcoin is still number 1. Its market cap is the highest, it is also the most trusted when used for any transaction, Bitcoin is the best, this gives us more opportunities to really achieve our goals, etc. However, ETH will still continue to follow in Bitcoin's footsteps and will depend on the Bitcoin market itself.

Hmm, TBH my vote is for the Bitcoin for most reasons we already know.

Now coming to the point I want to mention is the performance in this cycle, Bitcoin was dominating and performing well in the last cycle and ETH was under-performing a little bit in my view, for this cycle, I would say ETH will outperform Bitcoin, for a small reference I would like to quote my expectation for this year Bitcoin optimistically 2x from the current market valuation and for ETH it would be around 4x reaching almost 8k.

I'm expecting a higher return in the ETH due to some reasons, and for the person who is preparing a cyclical portfolio I would recommend Bitcoin more.

ETH and BTC are always the top good choices in this crypto market. BTC has reputation and POW, ETH has smart contract technology and ecosystem with good liquidity, updated regularly.

I only choose tokens based on expected returns. During the crypto winter, BTC was my favorite choice because of its quick recovery. After the halving, ETH took over my love because of its strong growth

I don't agree with the idea that we have to choose between Bitcoin and Ethereum all because they are both co-existing right now and there seems to be no war in between. In other words, you can have both BTC and ETH in your wallet and they will not have any quarrels at all. I am joking a bit but am sure many people will get what I mean. This is just like eating and apple and then eating an orange too. I love Bitcoin for all its strengths and flaws (yes Virginia, it is not perfect and nothing is). I also like Ethereum as it displays many use-cases and actually opened the door for many alts  to follow...in other words just like BTC this is also a big leader in the cryptocurrency market. Now, I know that the debate which can be better will always go on but I would say this is just a futile exercise. So what should we do then? Buy more BTC and ETH and hold them for years...who knows the many rosy predictions for these two important digital assets can be coming true and you can end up a millionaire because of them.

there are different ways of operating, there are maximalists who prefer to have only and exclusively bitcoin
but there are also those who, like me, love bitcoin, but if they have to speculate on other coins they have no scruples
I honestly think that with Ethereum in its current state there is more possibility of making profits

And I think The Carolina Reaper is the sweetest dish in the world. It does not matter what we think, because BTC doesn't need our confirmation or observation to prove that it is better than ETH in every case. I respect your point, but in my opinion, BTC is better in every scenario, that's because I support decentralization and security. Which is not similar to ETH in any way. As ETH is a centralized platform.

I like the proof of work mechanism of BTC and don't like the Proof of stake mechanism of ETH, where only the rich can take part, while the poor can't while in BTC, every person can take part either they have a bunch of BTC in their holding or not. They just need required tools to start mining.
