Title: Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Post by: Coin_Gabbar on September 21, 2022, 02:56:26 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has been in a freefall since January 2021, when it hit a high of $69,000. A maximum unrealized loss of 75% from the all-time high was sustained by long-term investors as BTC fell to $17,000 midway through the year. An important indicator of the true worth of one's Bitcoin assets is the net unrealized profit or loss (NUPL).

Is the Current Bitcoin Bear Market Really That Bad?
At its present NUPL value, the Bitcoin network is experiencing a loss. A review by CoinGabbar indicates that there is still room for maximal BTC acquisition at this time. In contrast, it appears that institutional investors are not actively buying up Bitcoin. Compared to the Bitcoin lows in July 2022, the present loss condition is significantly better.

Bitcoin has been on a downward trend recently. The cryptocurrency market hit a three-month low of $18,432 earlier this week. CoinGabbar reports that the current price of Bitcoin (BTC) is $18,930, down 3.21% in the previous 24 hours. Since its price dropped recently, Bitcoin's share of the cryptocurrency market has shrunk. This means that Bitcoin now accounts for 41.02% of the total market cap of all cryptocurrencies.

Institutional Investors Have Little Faith
Grayscale, a company that manages bitcoin assets, has noticed a decrease in its Bitcoin volumes. What this says is that institutional investors are not optimistic. The largest institutional investor in Bitcoin, Microstrategy, has increased its holdings. According to their most recent SEC filing, the firm has spent $6 million for Bitcoin at a price of roughly $19,851 per token. Together with its affiliates, Microstrategy now controls over 130,000 BTC.

The ongoing bear market is gaining the upper hand with the bulls being sideline for good...and we still can't project how long will this situation can last. One of the many things I learned with any asset that is traded freely is that sentiment of the people who are into investing and trading can always be the barometer into the direction in which the asset is trudging. Sadly, for now, there is a lack of excitement not just with Bitcoin but the rest of the cryptocurrency industry.

The current market still remains resistant to most altcoins. Although others increased a little like Dogecoin from 0.058$ now it is around 0.065$, Bitcoin also increased a little again, its resistance did not move much if we look at their graph, and even TRX almost It seems like the price hasn't changed and it just eases in the market.

So I think we have to stretch our patience a bit more as individual traders here in this cryptocurrency industry. And continue to accumulate little by little what we think will give good profit in the future.

I don't think the market is in a bad situation right now, and I don't dispute that the market has fallen a lot, but this is a chance to buy cryptocurrencies at low prices. Those who have been working with cryptocurrency for a long time know that they need to invest in cryptocurrency.

Prices in the cryptocurrency market rise and fall periodically. Moreover, it is well known that this market has the greatest price volatility of all existing markets. Prices can generally rise by 70-90 percent and also fall, and this is already considered, if not the norm, then at least not a disaster for this market. The current crypto-winter has already been long enough, which means that the market will soon recover. There are already good forecasts for a possible high rise in the price of bitcoin in the near future, up to 110 thousand dollars.

The eyes that you have must see market conditions, which are currently a lot of red and have difficulty increasing prices because there really is nothing that can trigger an increase in Cryptocurrency prices on exchanges, Cryptocurrency is not an investment place because basically Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that used for alternative payments so that price movements are very unstable and very risky if used as an investment.

I would answer - not forever! Why did you decide that the bulls left the crypto market forever? Sorry, but ahead of the crypto winter, and then the rise of the entire crypto market. Buy while it's cheap, fill your bags. Closer to March, 2023, it will be known! And while the bears attack.

I don't think @Afony is wrong in what he is saying about the market at least comparing both the 2017 and 2021 ATH drop, Bitcoins price dropped -83% when compared to what the Bitcoins price is reading now -77% from this last ATH.
Secondly, Bitcoin or the general crypt investment is a risk, so you that intend to or have invested in Cryptocurrency should understand this, the Bear market shouldn't come as a surprise to those that have understood that the market has about 3 phases, Bull, Bear, and the accumulation stages so when the Bear market is in play, buy good Coins/Alts as you have the investment for.

I think everything is all good, if you know the concept of averaging. You know how to deal with the bearish market.

Bearish season is always good to buy and hold.
I think It's good if you hav efree money.
But for short investor, I think It's not good.
We must hold for long term during bearish

Yes, the bear season will bring in buying opportunity and could also cause huge loses of the bear continues on the downward trends. If you buy at certain range, for instance, $16k and price  continue downward to $12k, a buyer at $16k will definitely start loosing his or her capital. In addition to the idea of buying low, there is need to good TA/FA before taken a position. I have decided to start buying at $13k because I think that bitcoin price may continue the downward movement to it bottom in near future.

As it stand now, the crypto market is not as bad compared to the 2018 bear run, though the bear is not yet over, it obvious that the crypto winter continues into 2023 and there is no ending in sight, just in my opinion. As i observed the movements, it look like the bear wil go for a  longer time than we may be expecting.

Crypto market seems normal, I think It's not bad.
Because during bearish I think crypto market will struggle and  volatile at this year 2023  until Q4 2024.
It's still good for invest and hold

Non-fungibility: As the name implies, each NFT is a cryptographic token that represents something unique or non-fungible, meaning it’s not interchangeable with another NFT. The metadata inside each NFT exists as a permanent, unalterable record on the blockchain. This record describes what the token represents, similar to a certificate of authenticity, as well as the token’s ownership history and transaction record (title).

And if the market happens not to get to $13k as you believe it would, then you must have missed out on buying at the current price. I believe DCA is still the best option during the bear market because we cannot really say for sure where the bottom is and regardless of where you bought if you don't sell then it is an unrealized loss until you actually sell.

Investors bought BTC at $19k during the 2017 bull market and it fell to $3k. if anyone was able to hodl through this time till Bitcoin came back to the new ATH of $69k in 2021 that would have been profitable right? So it is all about your ability to Hodl especially Bitcoin investment.

It depends for whom the bears market has affected the situation if you purchase cryptocurrency on an uptrend.

The bear market situation may prolonged further unto 2023, I have no doubt, bear is going very strong and it take some time to see the bear loose it's grips. Several analysis has suggested that Bitcoin, the first crypto, may continue it's current trends pattern, probably untill it touches the bottom at around $13k to $14k renge. I am hoping to take a bigger position from there, though I had bought little at $16k renge.

I feel like we must have bottomed by now, things have gotten quite bad this bear market, with LUNA collapse and celcius and blockfi and FTX.
the only way it gets worse is binance going under, and i dont think that will happen

it is difficult to say for sure how many years it will last, but the fall may continue, because we have not yet seen prices below reasonable limits.

We know crypto currency is unpredictable.
But we should see the last conditions every four years.
We don't the limit an dthe bottom.
But we know, crypto currency will recover again.

What can we say now about whether the market will recover or not, if there is an opportunity to invest now in cryptocurrency at low prices.

It would actually get worse, yes. Probably more big guns would fail but crypto would bounce back. This bearish times would push cryptocurrencies to its barest limits but it would be fine, mark my words

But It's just temporary, but maybe for the next two years again , the bullish will come.

Two years is a fair opinion. Many are waiting for the market to change soon... but it doesn't work that way.

With the bear market in full swing, it can be difficult to find your footing. Even as you work hard to get through the rough times, there are still things worth doing and places to go. I've been thinking about my next move—and I know that Streamr is a great place to get through the bear market.
Streamr is a blockchain-based platform that lets anyone create and monetize real-time data streams, which are then made available for use by other users
Streamr has also built up a massive user base Streamr uses the DATA token to incentivize users and developers who participate in their ecosystem, Finally, we've already seen some amazing use cases for Web3 infrastructure emerge over the past few years thanks to companies like Streamr! So even though the bear market is depressing this is the project thats got my hopes up

Now we are not seeing the worst bear market, for some reason it seems to me that prices are below reasonable limits, we will still see and the whole next year will go under the sign of uncertainty

We see that recently the cryptocurrency market is gradually recovering. The price of bitcoin has now risen above $23,000 and ethereum is above $1,600. This market is forecast to continue to improve, although not much growth is expected this year. Hopes for 2024-2025.

Bears the market is not as disastrous as it was, but it is still worthless and we may still see a slight decline.

The small increase makes me happy, but since I'm a long-term investor, this increase doesn't interest me. Of course, I sold some bitcoin at 23k, which I bought at 16k. I don't like this bear market.
