Recently a friend of mine made a rapid change in his behavior. He does not do any business. There is no possibility of getting much money from the job either. When I asked him why he had changed so much, he told me about gambling, although he did not want to share his gambling with me at first after I repeatedly asked him, he informed me about it. He told me he lost a lot in gambling. But last few days ago he won a big amount of money from gambling. With the winnings, he made quite a few changes in his behavior that were easily replicated.
Have you ever found someone who suddenly won a large sum of money through gambling and changed his lifestyle with that money?
Naturally, when a new activity is introduced to a person's life, it brings a change in the person's lifestyle and gambling inclusive. When a person starts gambling, unknowingly to him his lifestyle changes even before he records a significant winning. In the event of him winning, that means he now has money and man inherently changes his way of life when he has money.
No wonder, it is believed that to know a man give him money. I have heard so many stories of how friends became enemies the moment one of them won in gambling. Also, there is a case of a woman who filed for divorce after she won the lottery. It is common to see people change when they have money regardless of the source of the money and gambling is not excluded.
It's often thought that money changes people, but what if, its really just shows who they truly are. The idea that people suddenly turn bad with money might be too simple. It's more likely that having more money just gives people the chance to show their true colors. When friendships end or relationships break down after someone wins big in gambling or the lottery, it might not be the money's fault. These situations might just highlight what was always there, hidden without the money. So, it seems that winning from gambling doesn't change people as much as it allows them to be more openly themselves.
Most of the people who are into gambling big time and even those people who we think their lives are changed by gambling for the better are actually living in an illusion which they themselves could not manage well...and so they will eventually end up in the dump dreaming of the time when things are on top and when they were still lucky. For me, a good gambler (that is, if there is one) should know that luck can come not all the time so when a person is winning big then he should be using the money not to continue gambling as the stacks are surely will not be always on his side...he should learn to invest and make money from the money he won. The problem is that gamblers are themselves lost in reality and they have their own worlds to contend with...until lightning will strike them back to the world we live in not anymore having the money and sometimes even losing the very pants he is wearing. For me, the one and only way to really make money with gambling is operating one...either legally or illegally.
Many people who gamble much sometime may not handle their money well. But those who make money from gambling runs gambling business, it is not compulsory. Some people who gamble with responsibility and use their winnings to invest to other ways and earn more money, I think they are on the right track. It is good for gamblers if they will control themselve and keep in mind when to stop instead trying to win losses or keep doing gambling when they are not still winning. Running gambling business weather it is legal or not is not only way to make money and can cause more problems for a gambler. Money making from gambling is possible but it needs more discipline and planning.
Your comments got me thinking. There also could be another side, the potential for positive change.
For example, experience of gambling can teach valuable life skills such as risk assessment, financial planning, and decision-making under pressure. For those who approach gambling with awareness and control, it can enhance their ability to navigate uncertainties not only in games but in life's many gambles.
In essence, while caution and responsibility are paramount, the world of gambling does hold the potential for positive life changes and personal development for those who navigate it wisely.
