ALT/BTC pairs - Bitcoin price interrogation
« on: January 08, 2021, 05:21:53 PM »
Hi all! My first post here!  :)

I want to buy some more alcoins, medium term holding.

The most obvious pair choice is ALT with BTC (ex: ADA/BTC). But... Bitcoin is expensive now (at least compare to a couple of months before). Am I loosing something buy doing that?

What if Bitcoin crashes in the meantime (I know the chances are low)?

I'm having problems wrapping up my head around that BTC middle place value.

Any thoughts/advice on that matter?

Thanks a lot!

Bitcoin price is now soaring high, if you have enough initial capital I don't think it will be a problem, you can look for trades that are minus 5% -10% (I mean BTC vs coins or tokens which are -5% or -10%).  If you have little capital, why not trade between USDT and ADA, for example, or with other coins.

You're right to notice that other coins are cheaper at the moment in comparison to Bitcoin at 2x it's previous high. Ethereum remains a solid bet imo but also is starting to look expensive with a lack of discount too. I think a $30K bitcoin is starting to look reasonable, maybe we'l see $25K btc briefly too.

Do not be FOMO.
There are still many chances to get profits because this is not yet altcoin season. You may buy by BTC pair or even USDT pair for more stable coins. In this case, in my opinion, I will also take or add more to:
- ADA
-XLM
- LINK
- NEo

Of course, if you buy now at the current price and then the price will slow down and decrease then you are going to lose money. But if the price will continue to go up then you are gaining, simple as that. Now, since you think that buying alts using your Bitcoin can be expensive, then why not use fiat money to buy USDT and from USDT buy an alt? I am highly suggesting you take a look at the potential of DOT since I am sure this is going to be the heir-apparent of Ethereum.

Fiat currency is stable there is a lot of potential for profit here but the rise and fall of cryptocurrency makes profit when prices rise if the value of bitcoin in the crypto market is much higher now if the price goes down you will fall into loss. The price of ethereum currency is lower and it may go up further investors of this currency can get easy price even if the price goes down the loss will be less.

ALT like ethereum is good for long-term investment, I don't recommend you to buy ETH, but before the entire network enters the Beacon chain, ether prices will continue to increase due to the large demand for Ether for ETH 2.0 staking
At the same time Bitcoin price will always increase because of the halving, you can choose as many coins according to the profit you want in the long or short term.

Thanks to all!

I thought about it... but, another question, if I may, before to go further: USDT is based on the value of US dollar, right? Because of the monetary situation (billions created from nothing by the FED), lots of people say that the value of the US dollar will crash soon.

If I buy an alt with USDT, the day I sell, I'll have US dollars, somehow.

What do you think of that situation with the US dollar?

I prefer to consider everything before to jump in.

By the way, I already have BTC and ETH... I intend to buy other alcoins (ADA, DOT and others).

Thanks!

there will be no effect for it to be known that,
the difference between USDT and USD lies in the regulations and policies that cover them. If USD is regulated from direct regulation by the Federal Reserve in the United States, USDT enters into a cryptocurrency created by the company Tether Limited.

You are very lucky to have enough savings by holding bitcoin and ethereum, because it is very rare that can be like you, please use it to buy top-ranked altcoins only.

In trading, I usually choose the ALT/USDT pair more often than ALT/BTC. Because I am a person who often trades day-to-day or short-term, so I can find out how much USDT profit or loss I will get. Trading Cryptocurrency with the ALT/BTC pair is actually more profitable because we can get double profits if the price of the Coins we are trading goes up and at the same time the Bitcoin price also rises.

There will always be ups and downs in the cryptocurrency market. Market conditions are going to be much better. Most of the coins in the market have improved a lot. So the new currencies are suitable in the market to help the old currencies. So the condition of every altcoin is good.

I think you need to wait a little time because now there will be a price correction and then you can buy Bitcoin and in a couple of months its price will rise and you will receive your profit.

I always buy in pairs against the dollar or bitcoin.  For me, it does not matter for which asset I buy this or that altcoin.

Hope you took advantage of this recent dip if not perhaps you have to wait a while to see if btc will dip again,  btc dip down to $33k i see that as a huge dip from $40k, but who knows what will happen in upcoming weeks, maybe by then the real blood birth will begun,  this is just my personal assumption, however, do what you feel is right.

With my experience i can tell that all alt vs btc pairs will remain under pressure tillbtc finds new peak and i think that it can still take 6 plus months only after that expect alt/btc pairs to pump in real sense.
