Forum related / Re: Can we add Links in Profile Avatars?
« on: May 21, 2024, 11:56:00 PM »
links got abused by forum bots, will see in the future

It's an interesting idea, maybe it should be enabled only by higher-ranked members. Thus, they would avoid the mass creation of accounts for this purpose.

Friendly bump  ;)

bitmover, in the previous post I used this browser plugin, I noticed it, so now I have to remind you again.

Why don't you have something like "data provided by bitcoindata.science API" or something like that under this bottom line?
It's a great tool, and everyone should be familiar with it, as well as with your abilities to do something like that.

I hope I'm not boring with constant suggestions, although this is more about marketing.

I'm not sure if this is a new feature of MixTum, I thought I knew MixTum has supported it for a long time or maybe I've seen this feature on some Mixer services.

It's not a new feature, I remember it from at least a year ago. I don't know when it has been present, Mixtum has existed since 2018 and there have certainly been a lot of upgrades in the meantime.
It certainly makes Mixtum more unique compared to other competing services.

However, Mixtum has the option of free testing https://mixtum.io/?mix=free
It is possible to mix Bitcoin for testing purposes, commission-free, the amount must be exactly 0.001 BTC
Now is a good time for that, because the network fee is also low 8-11 sat/vB

I didn’t get your point. There is already a Calculator, and when you use the advanced option, you get Bitcoin (deposit Bitcoin) or Ethereum (deposit Ethereum), but the mixing method is the Monero bridge instead of Coinjoin.

I think that it should be stated somewhere what ratio BTC -> ETH will be calculated during the exchange.
It is different for most exchanges, here is the clearest example on Bestchange monitoring. Right now the range is from 17 ETH = 1BTC to 18.9ETH = 1BTC. (https://www.bestchange.com/bitcoin-to-ethereum.html)

Providing this information should not be complicated, and it would increase the level of transparency.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Joinmarket.net (discussion) experience?
« on: May 21, 2024, 02:05:25 AM »
Samurai and Wasabi have abandoned users in the US crypto market,

Samurai is seized and developers are arrested, while Wasabi disables the Coinjoin feature. They didn't abandon anyone, they were pressured by the US government.

At present, I cannot access joinmarket.net and only receive the message "This account has been suspended". I am not sure what happened to this service 8)

Now it is also unavailable for me, strange. There is another message that the server is overused or the allowed limit has been exceeded. I hope that's the only issue because at some point the site will be available again

Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources.

Technical Discussion / Which blockchains are the fastest?
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:20:49 PM »
CoinGecko made a study of the fastest blockchains, it is about daily average transactions per second (TPS)
Solana reached a record high of 1,504 on 6th April.

Interestingly, Bitcoin is only on the 20th place

What do you think, how important is speed and what does it mean for the future of each blockchain?

Mixtum should add more information about fees on Precise Payment Mode page, but I guess it's just their standard fees 4% - 5% + 0.0007 BTC.

Probably 4%-5% + 2x 0.0007 BTC, because there are two deposit addresses in question

This is a new feature that I have never heard of anywhere else.

However,  I don't really get what is really different from adding the payment address as the destination  address in a normal mix. Maybe the change feature? But you could just add a second destination address anyway

The advantage is that one transaction can be in a precise amount, while the rest goes to another address (after service and network fee).

I agree, here a casino can have 10 or even more than 10 active members in a campaign for just $300 per week. There are so many members who still want to be part of signature campaigns and they agree to be part of a campaign for $30 per week without any issue.

Most of the campaigns pay with those rates, I believe that even if they pay $25 per week still many members will eagerly join those campaigns without any hesitation.

I already said here, it is necessary to create a database of gambling users, to have some constructive discussions about it. Some of the successful ideas from Btt can be used. This will certainly open up more chances for casinos to come here as well. They will certainly not be attracted by the user's wish to receive compensation for space in their signature.

I think it's a great idea! It allows us to pay someone directly while limiting fees (it removes one transaction compared to mixing/receiving of funds + sending to X) and, above all, it prevents the recipient from knowing your BTC address/funds, which I really like, with the certainty that the coins won't be frozen thanks to the way Jambler works. A great way to spend your signature campaign sats if you want to pay for online services, for example :P

It is certainly a good function, although I did not find anything about how much the fee is in this case. I assume that it is like in the case of sending to two addresses with the choice that in such a transaction we have a "change" address.

Crypto-related Sites / Re: Coinmarkatcap?

In that case, have you tried using adblock add-ons or software (such as uBlock Origin) to block those ads?

Ads are not the main problem, but too much information that CMC wants to offer on the same page. Various meme token trends, airdrops, feeds from social networks...

There are so many desktop or mobile application which shows cryptocurrency data, where it's data taken from either CMC or CoinGecko API. One of those probably could be more user friendly for you.

I saw some WordPress plugins that offer something similar, coin markets using CMC or CoinGecko API, so I'm thinking of creating a page for my needs, where only what interests me will be filtered.

BTT has a very large gambling community, but I would not say that it is a gambling forum, regardless of the fact that that part of the forum is quite active.

I think that approximately 50% of the activity on BTT is carried out by the gambling section. In the end, there are 20 gambling signature campaigns and only one that is not from the gambling industry.

Quote
The fact is that at least a few gambling campaigns on this forum would mean a lot in the sense that it would increase the activity which, realistically speaking, had already started to decline when the number of sig campaigns was reduced.

With $300 per week, the casino here can get 10 users in the campaign. Almost enough to dominate the forum, at least as far as gamblers are concerned
That's only enough for 3 slightly better posters on BTT.

You don't have your portfolio or you just haven't had time to do an update and add them to the first post?
I would like to see what you have done so far. Are your signature codes adapted to the Bitcointalk forum also? (if there are any differences at all)

I haven't used Joinmarket.net personally but I can surely say that you should be careful from it because it's not worth it to go after a platforms whose domain name isn't a good one. I would never go for that one even if it become the last option for us.

Have you ever heard of Joinmarket until now?
Why do you think that Joinmarket.net is a bad domain and how exactly does it have a bad effect on the seriousness of the project?
Do you know that Joinmarket was first mentioned on bitcointalk in 2015? 9 years ago. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919116.msg10096563

I opened this topic to maybe start a discussion and get some personal experiences if possible. Guessing and wrong assumptions are certainly not helpful.

I have different opinion about this matters. I would recommend CoinGecko instead, especially for newcomers.

Honestly, I tried to use Coingecko more for some other reasons, but CMC is still more user-friendly, or at least it is much more convenient for me to use.
Although lately, CMC has become quite slow, too much data is loaded, often completely unnecessary, plus various advertisements and javascript, and it has a lot of impact on the usefulness of the site itself.

I would like to see a better alternative that will be devoted exclusively to the needs of the user.

I noticed some famous faces, who are the most active in the gambling board on Btt. Why don't any of them start gambling topics, or contests similar to those on Btt?
If you want to attract casinos to be present here and possibly contribute to the promotion, a certain user base must be created.

Although honestly, is it necessary to turn another crypto forum into a gambling forum?
