Suggestion Box / Re: [Sugestion] Old Posts Remove
« on: May 11, 2024, 05:10:40 PM »
@msz900, deleting those posts would only create problems. Firstly, the current activity of many users would be reduced and they could have problems with the rank they have right now, that could cause errors in the forum and it is possible (I'm not entirely sure) that many users will be demoted to lower ranks. It would also be chaos for SEO, since Google would have indexed thousands of posts that do not exist, and that always penalizes websites by showing links at the bottom. Furthermore, it would mean a huge workload, so I personally think it's better not to delete those posts.

Forum related / Re: Why is this common here.
« on: May 11, 2024, 04:45:48 PM »
@Rruchi man, as far as I can remember, there is only one user who does that and ends every "post" with that phrase. The fact that the user ends each post with that phrase is supposed to encourage other users to write posts, but the OP has never responded to any of those users, so the interaction between the OP and the users does not exist. It's something I talked about on occasion (some time ago) with the administrator, but we didn't come to any conclusion. I will talk to him again.

Signature Campaigns / Re: Altcoinstalks Signature Campaign Observer
« on: May 11, 2024, 04:33:04 PM »
Is this the first time being banned? I've heard this before many times.
Everything is happening so quickly, yet there is no clear legislation banning mixers in the United States or restricting their access. I don’t know why what happened with Samourai Wallet frightened many privacy providers?

That is precisely what they are looking for. By creating or generating fear, many users will stop using the multiple services related to privacy, for fear of being arrested, fined... In this way they create a chain effect that spreads. Although I think it is unlikely that users should be afraid, simply thinking about it already achieves the effect they are looking for, thus saving them a lot of work.

In fact, I think the only thing this is going to create is new mixers appearing, with much more privacy available and new "anti-control" measures. It is possible that one of the solutions is Tor, but the fact that it is not 100% effective and the necessary knowledge (few, but not everyone knows how to use it correctly) make the idea unviable.

I was reading a thread and saw two posts saying that profile 38659 was redirecting to their accounts.

Hello. Can I teleport but my name in btt is different?
New account btt: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3628666
And this is my old account : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1578678

Altcointalks : https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;=38659

Why did you add my profile link at the bottom?

I think this is a glitch. I also click the link he posted and directly to my profile too.

After testing it I have verified that both users are right, since the link in that profile also redirects to my account, and I suppose to the accounts of all users.

Karma is basically worthless here - it is not as large as in Bitcointalk, it won't help you get into any campaigns, and nobody really cares much about it in general. I don't know why someone would waste their time farming karma on this forum.

I don't agree that karma is worthless in this forum. Another thing is that managers don't consider a user's Karma amount (at the moment) to be relevant for signature campaigns, but that can change at any time. The administrator said that a new rule will be implemented on the forum, where users must have a certain amount of Karma in order to reach the next rank. When that new rule is implemented, there may come a time when managers believe that Karma is relevant to accepting users in a signature campaign. There is still no exact date to know when the new rule will be implemented.

OK, I wasn't aware of that.  However, what is going to stop people from simply adding +1 karma to each of a particular user's posts, as a form of merit abuse? I believe that each post can only get one karma, so that's a good start. However, I don't think it would be enough to stop a determined merit abuser (although I don't know if just any account can send karma or not).

To start, users must be at least senior members and can only give +1 every 10 hours. If a user receives a lot of karma without having much activity, or if a user receives a lot of karma with a lot of activity but their posts are LQP, the administrator will soon notice it in the logs, so it wouldn't cost much to put the counters back as they were and penalize users who did so. Also, the administrator is working on several things related to karma to have more control. No system is perfect and everything can be improved, but it is difficult and time-consuming.

As for your idea that each post can only receive 1 karma from the same user, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. If you want, you can propose it in the suggestions subforum.

It is certain that everyone has the same rights to use Binance, such as you for trading, and maybe others use Binance for exchange and everything can be done as long as Binance does not prohibit it. If there is abuse that is not in accordance with Binance rules, and they know about it, they will certainly be subject to sanctions and blocking, but of course, it is not easy to determine if the abuse is carried out by anyone who does it, for example money laundering, it can be discovered by Binance itself.

If Binance suspected something about a user, the first thing it would do at that point would be to block the user's account. And depending on how the case unfolded, Binance would report and collaborate with authorities, tracking where the funds came from and sharing the user's private data. But that in most cases would be a waste of time and resources, since if someone wanted to perform those types of acts they would not use a centralized exchange, and even if someone did, those coins would probably have already gone through several mixers before reaching Binance. Therefore, drawing a tracking line would be a waste of time.

Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Re: [Scam] Mllxero.io (with L)
« on: May 09, 2024, 08:45:18 PM »

Without reading again with some focus, I thought Mlxero is really the same as Mixero. Indeed, this is an old strategy used again and again to deceive mostly people who have not been exposed to such a trick. In fact, I was victimized by the same thing years before cryptocurrency came into existence when someone copied a buyer's Facebook account with almost the same name and without me looking at it letter by letter I lost around $200 which is already big here in my country. Now, with cryptocurrency and with scammers in abundance, these evil people are using all ways and means to fool people of their hard-earned money. I am happy to see this post so we can forewarn people and they can be aware of this scam. Sadly, Google can easily be fooled by these fake sites...maybe as long they are paying then anything goes.

The problem is precisely what you said at the end of your post. Google does not check the legitimacy of anything as long as it charges for advertising. When something like this happens, it can take many days. I seem to remember that in this case Google took 10 days to do something. How many people could have been scammed during that time period?. Who is responsible?. If Google had to refund money to every person scammed with phishing related ads, I'm sure they would check things twice before charging and showing the ads.

Forum related / Re: Forum very slow today?
« on: May 09, 2024, 08:10:25 PM »
The truth is that not only do I not have problems with the loading speed of the forum, but the pages load quickly even using Tor, something that did not always happen to me before the administrator made the latest changes, so I don't know what the problem could be. Have you tried deleting the cache and cookies as @msz900 said or have you tried another browser?. It could also be some kind of specific problem with your ISP, it happens sometimes, but, in theory, these problems are solved in hours.

However, there is no harm in continuing to take part in airdrops or something like that, we can do this as additional work and we can also do it in our free time so that we can make good use of our time.

As long as it doesn't make us lose money and we can do it for free, I think that's a choice we can take. It's true that our rest time may be disrupted, but everything requires sacrifice.

It is clear that it is something that can be done in free time, but what you have said has two different types of readings. In airdrops, not only should we not lose funds, since they are supposed to be free and you only have to perform a few tasks, but the problem is that what we are really exposing are our devices and our wallets. Phishing, trojans, backdoors, vulnerabilities... The list is very long and what we can lose is much more than what we can gain. That's why I don't participate in airdrops, because I prefer not to trust and expose security for a few dollars.

Yeah, Tron has only been known for USDT for many years. I haven't even used any Dapps on Tron. Tron recently announced a plan to develop a Bitcoin Layer-2 solution, but I haven't seen any significant updates from Justin Sun. In contrast, Solana and Base are witnessing a boom in memecoin projects. It's clear that users are choosing these projects, not just for low fees and fast speeds, but also for the vibrancy of the ecosystem.

Tron is slowly fading from user awareness in the market, even though the TRX token has made a fairly good recovery in recent times. For me, Tron only has two things: TRX for investment and TRC-20 USDT for use.

I think that although Tron still has its market and its users, what keeps its ecosystem alive is USDT and its very low fees in TRC-20. I stopped waiting for Justin Sun to do something a long time ago, I think after all this time it's become very clear that he's not going to do anything for Tron. That's one of the reasons (possibly the most important) why the Base and Solana chains are accumulating projects, users and Dapps while Tron remains in limbo. I think the plan to develop a Bitcoin Layer-2 solution is just smoke, they have had a lot of time (and never lacked funds) to show something to the community, but they have done nothing, like in the last few years. If it weren't for USDT, I don't know where Tron would be, and I'm not just talking about market cap.
