There is Proposal of Casper POS implementation happening from long time once it is implemented there will be huge growth because based on caper algorithm should have 1000 ether above to receive rewards . So staking will increase .

Eth will go to PoS (proof of stake) so people will have incentive to hold big number of eth in their accounts. This in turn would lead to rise of the price of the coin. As of now it's all guesswork but I would not be surprised to view prices in the region of $5000 at the end of the year. It is another question what would this mean for the eth network and the smart contracts in general..

It is very hard to predict the price of Ethereum looking at how volatile cryptocurrencies are. The current market trend makes it even more difficult but I think Ethereum can hit $900 this year

I'm hoping that eth will reach the price up to $1.5k to $2k this year. For me this is not impossible to happen because eth is second to bitcoin and many investors coming from other cryptos are switching their support to eth
