Basics of EOS and platform operation with SwissEOS.

If you happen to be in Switzerland, don't forget to get to the next in-person meetup organized by SwissEOS. This is their first meetup, and it will take place on August 29th starting at 7pm in Zurich.

For anyone else not in Switzerland, be sure to check the EOS Authority events page to stay up to date on upcoming events you can take part in, whether online or offline. This will help the EOS community to grow faster and stay connected with all the upcoming online and offline worldwide EOS events.

"Many were unaware of all the EOS events, training and webinars happening all over the world. In the last year, there were EOS events in Thailand, UK, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, USA, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Norway just to name a few."

EOSIO-lock, a free open source service provides temporary immutability to eos smart contracts.

EOSIO-LOCK recently announced their first service: ACCOUNT-LOCK. Through this service, EOSIO developers will be able to make their smart contracts temporarily immutable. In this way, users will still be guaranteed by the immutability of a smart contract, and at the same time will maintain the flexibility of smart contracts on EOSIO.

"During each one-month period the users can play on the dapp being reassured that the developer cannot change the code to his advantage and no trust would be required on this side. At the same time, the developer would have the possibility to regain control of his account at the end of each one-month period in order to fix and update the code."

Advanced EOSIO blockchain users may also take advantage of account-lock features in order to freeze their accounts/funds in a cold storage for a given period of time. The first ACCOUNT-LOCK prototype was developed on the accountlock1 EOS mainnet account.

Moran Proposal on Block Production Diversity.

Moran, cofounder of EOSwriter Chinese Site, recently suggested a new proposal on Block Production Diversity. The goal of this proposal is to achieve regional diversity on block production activity by separating current block producer reward into two components.

The proposal intends to choose Block Producers based on world's population allocation in percentage. This would result in the following regional distribution:

 #BPs  Region
 10.   Asia.
 2.   Africa.
 3.   European Union + Eastern Europe.
 3.   North America.
 2.   South America + Central America + The Caribbean.
 1.   Oceania.

How to Raise EOS Value? Views from Susan, MEET.ONE.

Susan from MEET.ONE published an article in which she shared her opinions about EOS Governance & Future Development and put forward a couple of suggestions.

Three main questions are discussed in this article. From "how to break the bottleneck and realize the rise of mass applications, "how to reward outstanding BPs and motivate them to continually contribute to EOS ecosystem" to "how to encourage community members to participate in ecosystem building".

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind? Strive to go through the tough days together, behind is the rise of large-scale applications, where unfolds the future of EOS, bright and promising".

Yes i agree with you the EOS has good potential in coming future as blockchain technology especially for smart contract and decentralize application dapps more than it there are many people who supported for eos is like

Building True Decentralization with Complementary Currencies.

Sebastian Valdecantos with the help of EOS Argentina recently announced the port of Moneda PAR to EOSIO. Moneda Par is a digital currency that allows its users to buy and sell goods through mutual loans that have 0% interest.

Basically users can spend more than he has earned, and will be committed to give back value to the community by selling their goods in exchange for PAR tokens. While users with positive balance have the right to take from the community goods and services in exchange for their tokens.

EOS Gets a Boost on Chinese TV, But Critics Fear Centralization.

Recently EOS has been featured on an English-language business program in China: ICS Money Talks. The television show addressed some of the recent developments on blockchains games, and aired a piece with Crypto Sword & Magic, a new RPG game operating on EOS.

"The result may be continued migration towards alternatives as gamers break out in search of meaningful rewards. Fortunately for fans, gaming dApps are gradually gaining steam."

Block. One recently released introduced a new alpha support for a new and more robust blockchain history tool based on RocksDB instead of postgresql. RocksDB is an embeddable persistent key-value store for fast storage and it is optimized for fast, low latency storage.

In their latest article, Block. One provided an overview of blockchain history solutions on EOSIO and a simplified architecture diagram explaining tools available for application developers.

Topics covered:

The History of State History Tools on EOSIO
A Scalable Solution: The State History Plugin
Decoupling Nodeos from Access to State History
History Tools Integrating with the State History Plugin
RocksDB Alpha in History Tools
"Currently, RocksDB outperforms LMDB and PostgreSQL databases by considerable margins for both partial and full blockchain history on EOSIO blockchains. RocksDB also stores the full history much more efficiently than PostgreSQL."
