Proof of Work (PoW)

In Rapid, we utilize a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus to maintain our decentralized ledger. This is carried out by mining in our X11 algorithm to solve blocks, once a new block is solved aka mined it gets added to the blockchain and the miners and Masternodes Holders to rewarded with RAPID coins

Masternode (MN)

Masternodes (MN) are used in conjunction with PoW to maintain and secure the RAPID blockchain Masternodes are utilized to send RAPID instant Payments, Privacy Payments & also to govern our DAO system. The DAO is a self-governed treasury system , 10% of all block rewards are kept back for DAO funding and once a month a “superblock” is created for the DAO. Where the community can make a proposal for funding, whether a proposal is funded or not is determined by the masternodes owners (MNOs) using their masternodes to vote for each proposal.
