Yeah, if Libra overcomes it's current challenges, i think it will be a new gamechanger in crypto. They have been a lot of hype generated from libra announcement till the project started generating attentions from  countries. In facts, Libra has the potential to grow and become popular like bitcoin finally launch in 2020.

the greatness of libra is no doubt,
proven when it will launch has given a lot of polemic and a big impact for the development of crypto.
this shows libra can be a serious challenge for old bitcoin and altcoin.
always updating the latest info about libra is something that must be done so as not to miss important moments.

Metal Pay is Libra's real competitor just as much as Malawi's basketball national team is a competitor to a NBA selection.
Globally speaking, companies like Metal Pay are microbes.
I don't mean it in a disrespectful way: these companies can be functional to customers and the economy, in which case they are a good thing and they deserve to be appreciated.
It's just that size matters.
Partnerships. The network behind you.
Currently there are 1000s of fintech microcompanies like MP scattered around the world.
How many people around the globe have heard the name "Metal Pay"?

This is Libra

When you have so many institutional backers, it will be a shame if you don't become the next "big thing" in crypto. Some people are saying that it is some kind of a bitcoin killer but I don't know about that. Maybe a killer of some industries like remittance & payment is more appropriate.

I also find it interesting how this Libra and Gram will compete.

Yes, they could overcome these issues with time if they keep pressing with the vest population of interests that are melitating against the project launch come 2020. I think there are still open windows for discussion on the purpose of libra coin with the various authorities in the USA and others.

I agree. One interesting aspect of cryptocurrencies is that each currency can have its own separate field of deployment.
Bitcoin and Stablecoins have separate fields, or industries as you say.
Libra will get used in those fields where Bitcoin is not being used because of its volatility.

Monetary authorities don't like competition, they don't want a currency which they cannot control.
Libra has to be designed in a way that it doesn't represent a competition to Central Banks currencies.

The fact that Libra is backed by fiat currencies is a big advantage of Libra compared to, e.g., commodity backed Stablecoins.
Monetary authorities like fiat money backed Stablecoins much more than, e.g., gold backed Stablecoins.

For the monetary authorities is also important that people cannot buy good/services directly with Libra coins, but that in order to do that Libra coins have to be converted into fiat currencies.

The big leverage for Libra is that it will be backed not only by fiat currencies but also by government bonds.
Governments all around the world LOVE those who finance their debt  8)

No one knows,
because Libra is a new project with an owner of the company, unlike bitcoin that is not owned by anyone, with a decentralized system.
Will Libra be like a world bank whose distribution is regulated by a company? no one knows

Libraries are likely to be as popular as bitcoin. Libraries will only be popular in different countries if large companies of countries use libraries. By investing more. I also feel more alone that it will start to be used in 2020 - 2021.

The Libra coin, even if it appears, which I deeply doubt, will no longer have such a significant impact on cryptocurrency, as previously planned. After Zuckerberg at a meeting of the US Congress was forced to declare that this coin will have nothing to do with Fasebook, even taking into account its current reputation, it will simply be one of many stable coins. Even the Chinese stable CBDC coin can be more popular in the future than Libra.

New players in cryptocurrency are still Bitcoin because Bitcoin has an art in terms of privacy and transaction speed.
I think LIBRA will only be a companion of Bitcoin like Ripple and Ethereum are now on the cryptocurrency market.

This is in my opinion because Facebook is still Facebook and difficult to be defeated by other Social Media like Twitter and Bitcoin is still Bitcoin, will not (maybe) be defeated by the latest cryptocurrency.

Well, I will bet if LIBRA will not be able to exceed the finances of Bitcoin because actually Bitcoin is decentralized.

Remember, this fact can happen if LIBRA has a centralized system and becomes a stable coin.
See how Tether has more value in the real world with lots of people trading it but in the cryptocurrency world Tether hasn't even been able to Ethereum at number 2 CMC. cmiiw

Libra will no longer be that global stable coin as originally planned. The situation has changed not only in the negative attitude towards it of the states of the European Union and the USA. Many states are already planning to issue their own national stable coin and I think that people will choose the national stable coin as a means of payment, and not Libra. Even if Libra is released this year, they are unlikely to have a significant impact on the market. However, in any case, Libra would not be a competitor for bitcoin. Only as a means of payment. Otherwise, these coins are almost the exact opposite.

I think, Libra will be more popular coin. Because, It's created Facebook. Most of the people used Facebook. When Facebook launch Libra. Then All of the payment methods of Facebook will be Libra. That's why all member use Libra. And it' will be more holding coin. Market capital will be increase. That's why Libra will be game changer. I think so.
