Pumapay Brings Crypto Payments into Daily Life, Raises $117 mln in Private Token

Blockchain firm PumaPay has raised $117 million in a token sale to private investors.

Today, the main method of payment online is a credit or debit card. Plastic cards offer users and account holders the ease of using their money, without physically withdrawing cash from banks. Users can easily pay for nearly unlimited types of services and products.

However, there are major drawbacks in the current card payment systems, such as outdated technology, high commisions, oligopolistic market etc.

The introduction of bitcoin was the first step towards solving the above problems. But, unfortunately, bitcoin (and other large cryptocurrencies as well) at the moment can not offer flexible solutions to provide online billing methods. Insufficient development of cryptocurrency and complexity of transactions do not allow to compete with the card payment system.

What is PumaPay?

The project is a completely free payment protocol of direct debit (Pull Payment Protocol). Expressing simpler, we can say that the platform is a completely decentralized and universal payment system.

It sounds loud, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg. The project offers such an impressive range of services within the same platform. So it’s not so surprising why the creators managed to collect such an impressive investment so quickly.

The project combines an integrated approach, flexibility of the system and accessibility for everyone. It is important that the creators of PumaPay will use their own payment protocol, which is developed from the start, and all the necessary tools are freely available.

Pumapay mobile wallets for IOS and Android are now available, also, an alpha version of the PumaPay SDK, which is available for free use, is already released and can be found here: https://github.com/pumapayio/puma-poc. Fortunately, it provides a user interface through which people now can buy photos using PumaPay Tokens and the back-end server, which consists of a set of APIs that can be used to allow the customers to make purchases using either the PumaPay wallet mobile application or Metamask.

In the third quarter of 2018, the creators will test a new generation of blockchain, will present the PumaPay V2.0 application and an improved version of the SDK, which will support integration with the PullPayment system and will integrate third-party services.

Many have tried and failed with card payments, so i wonder why pumapay will succeed where others have failed. If it links with visa/mastercard then it will pump when it hits the exchanges
