Scam Projects: How to Detect?

I do not think that there are any criteria by which it is guaranteed that it is possible to determine a scam. The only exceptions are frank cases when everything is visible at once, such as different pyramids and its varieties. Many projects first work, they lure, and only when they collect a significant amount they disappear. And there are many such examples , my own intuition will help more here. I think so!

I also watch from the side mostly. And I very rarely invest in new projects. I don't trust anyone.
And I think it's better not to make a profit than to invest money in a scam and lose

There are some ways to detect a scam project. Here I want to mention some points.
1. Fake team members of a project.
2. Plagiarized Whitepaper.
3. Inappropriate roadmap of a project.
4. False promises of high return in a short time.
5. Newly opened social media of that project.

There is no sure fire way of detecting scam projects. But eventual scams tick some of my red flags. These include the regulars like plagiarized Whitepapers, fake team or devs, unrealistic profit etc. There are others like poor social media content which is very important and has ticked my boxes

It is difficult to detect scam projects but we can do efforts in some ways. At least, we must check the whitepaper and found suspicious things there. If there are no suspicious things, we can assume it is a good project. Another way, we can analyze the social media of the projects, check if the social media are active and updated. The last, we can analyze the information of team members, whether they are fake or real ones.

they have made the project to deceive investors, can dredge funds to make a profit. it must be admitted there are difficulties to be able to stem the things they do.

Always follow their social media update and check the team.

What about the case when there is no whitepaper and team? Webpage was created long time ago and what project offers looks logical and achievable. This looks like a perfect project on the paper.

Long time ago I have decided for myself, that mosts of the projects are lottery. Either you win or you get scammed.

Anonymous team could easily run all the money and leave investors crying. Good point not to invest on them but sometimes we should not limit our boundaries to anonymity if the team is really doing their best to update the community and making the project to boom accordingly to whitepaper and roadmap.

Anonymous project without achievements, partnership, updates, and progress is a big big NO. Rug pulled may happen any time soon.

But of course the safest way of investment is knowing the individual who's belong to the team. But it is not guaranteed to 100% succeed. Success depends on community, demands, platform, and the market movement.

As always, invest what we can afford to lose(just in case).

But I think OP asked how to detect scam project if they are new project..It's really difficult.
We must learn white paper, team and always follow their social media account.

In my experienced, checking the project it is really difficult to detect a scam project because some of them looks legit and very convincing but in the end of the day they will gone, they ran with investors money. It is really risky if you invest in the new project, it is better to invest in the top or old coins in the market because those are still good investments.

It is very difficult to fully assess the project. Take the MINA protocol for example, it was a very promising project according to the description, but when it came to transactions .....

I also can't judge when the project will become a scam or succeed because I'm also still learning in investing in cryptocurrencies which of course changes every day.
Maybe I also have a local special group for cryptocurrency analysis and surely this will provide something very useful for me so as not to fall into the abyss of SCAM.

I am wary of a fraudulent project. I identify such projects by scanning, in a telegram bot, which provides information about the token. Always check the token for fraud before buying. But it doesn't always help. I try not to buy such tokens, as this is a risk.
