Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Don't Focus Too Much on Cryptocurrency
« on: January 23, 2019, 01:33:11 AM »
Yeah I'm not selling any of my coins for a loss... but I'm taking a step back from doing bounties, trading and checking the market starting today. Then in a month or two I'll check back in. It's just been too stressful.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: how long is it normal to be a holder?
« on: January 23, 2019, 01:31:01 AM »
If your goal is to cash out to fiat, you may not want to hold coins for long. If you believe in the long term growth and value of the ecosystem... you hold indefinitely until there is mass adoption and then you can spend.

I'd say with all the positive developments slated to happen this year, we could see another bull market. Maybe not as drastic as the one in late 2017 but a rise in prices... maybe see BTC at 10K.

4
At this point, I'm afraid that if I were to sell all my coins, THEN a bull market would start and I'd have made a very costly mistake. I'm fine HODLING for right now.

5
I've seen all these alternative platforms to Ethereum being hyped... but I'd really like to see some actual solid projects being built on them. 19 of the top 20 token on CMC are built on Ethereum. The other one is Tether... which has had some issues.

6
Hopefully we'll see more legitimacy and stability in the crypto space with Bakkt and possibly an ETF at some point. And hopefully fewer scams and hacks happen... we'll see.

7
The problem is that many of these exchanges aren't financially stable in a bear market. So many will close... and some like the Sobit exchange will perform exit scams. Be careful out there.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Altcoins will replace BTC
« on: January 20, 2019, 12:25:00 AM »
I really don't see any altcoin outright "replacing" BTC. There will be coins with a lot more transactions on them because BTC will be slower and more expensive to transact on. But it'll be interesting to see if ETH will stay the biggest platform or if anything else will seriously compete.

Well if we figure that cryptocurrency is going to be around for possibly hundreds of years and still a small percentage of people use crypto, of course we're early adopters.

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Too few signature campaigns :(
« on: January 18, 2019, 02:13:06 AM »
Well there are places like BountySuite that allow you to do signature campaigns with this forum as well as a couple other crypto forums. So that's what I use.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Why You Should Take The Risk!
« on: January 17, 2019, 01:25:25 AM »
It's a definite risk to be in the crypto space... but the rewards could be huge. I have enough invested in other places that if cryptocurrency went to zero (it won't) that'd I'd be fine. Focus on crypto but definitely don't put all your chips in it.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Ethereum Constantinapole Hard Fork Delayed...
« on: January 17, 2019, 01:23:06 AM »
Well it's kind of disappointing, but I'd rather they'd be 100% sure that the fork will happen without any hitches... we can't afford any problems at this point.

And even if we do get paid, the project could turn into a scam. I just found out yesterday the Sobit exchange I did a bounty for and invested in performed and exit scam. I guess I should have seen it coming with how poorly the exchange was run.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What Are Your Plans For 2019?
« on: January 16, 2019, 06:09:59 AM »
I'm gonna do a few bounties here and there. But I'm going to withdrawal from checking of the markets and general obsessing over crypto. I have what I have and I'm holding onto it.

Let's hope more institutions jump in when Bakkt is released. And I'd like to see some 401K dollars go into crypto... that would bring a lot of price stability to the space.
