I agree with you, Ripple may not be "the Crypto". But as you can see, it has a large number of adoptions recently.  Further, since it is not decentralized, banks are favouring them and the Govt will never agree with complete decentralization. Even though, our thoughts that decentralized coins will rule the future, are very much true. Ripple will be something for next few years or maybe longer. Just my thoughts

Doesn't really matter what you or I consider 'real crypto', the point is that there is money to be made, I'm not that proud that I wouldn't invest if I think I can make money.

Decentralized or not, Ripple is a crypto dematerialized so we must consider Ripple as a crypto.

But for me Ripple is a crypto. And the first crypto on CMC.

Ripple is a crypto weather centralized or decentralized, in as much as people will make money from it, they will invest.
IMO people like to cast blame, so if any shit happen with ripple, they blame the government in control of ripple.
unlike bitcoin or other decentralized crypto, when you loose you go home cry, feel suicidal, then move on.

I think you are just emotional.  ;)
Not because it is not decentralised the identity of ripple as being a crypto is lost already. This altcoin is just centralized but the true identity of being a crypto didn't change.

To the category of crypto currency, we refer specific coins or tokens not because they are centralized or decentralized, but because they are digital and built on a block chain. Therefore, we want it or not, and ripple is a crypto currency.

Being decentralized or centralized is not the basis to say the coin is not crypto or crypto. In fact if you heard KYC or the legal asking of your identity it means they need to have your identity in order to send your token or not. Ripple is on cryptocurrency world so then it is including as crypto.

Yes, it is true. Ripple is not a “true” cryptocurrency by the standard definition. Ripple (XRP) is a technology that acts as both a cryptocurrency and a digital payment network for financial transactions. It resembles a financial technology platform more than anything else and has simply combined the best elements of fiat money and blockchain cryptocurrency.

Hi mate I want to share to you this one. Majority of us here believe that crypto will replace fiat and fiat is under the system of centralized because government has control over it. Now if crypto will replace fiat this will only happen if the government already accept the it. Meaning crypto currency will no longer decentralized but still it is the crypto that we love the most.

No, Ripple is not a cryptocurrency, it's a digital payment protocol and operates on an open source and peer-to-peer decentralized platform that allows for a seamless transfer of money in any form, whether USD, Yen, litecoin, bitcoin, etc. The cryptocurrency is the Ripple's XRP and not Ripple itself.

It does not matter whether decentralized crypto currency or centralized. These are just kinds of crypto currency. The important thing is that they use blockchein technology. This unites them into types of crypto-currency.
In the future, there will appear a lot of different national centralized crypto-currencies, such as El Petro in Venezuela. You also do not intend to consider them as a crypto currency?

Honestly I'm surprised ripple has lasted as long as it has.  The fact that the devs own more than 50% of the total coins is a god damn nightmare for me.  I'll never be able to take it seriously, and that's not even considering they're trying to make a centralized coin, the whole point of blockchain is to be decentralized.

people's opinions are certainly different, and many say that Ripple is not included in cryptocurrency. But, in my opinion even though Ripple works a lot with banks, and many say that Ripple is a banking coin, ripple remains included in cryptocurrency coins. if not I am sure, ripple will not be able to compete with other altcoins in getting the top 100 in the Cryptocurrency list at Coinmarketcap.

Well, by definition Ripple is more known for its digital payment protocol than its cryptocurrency, XRP. Ripple operates on an open source and peer-to-peer decentralized platform that allows for a seamless transfer of money in any form, whether USD, Yen, litecoin, or bitcoin.

The token ticker for Ripple is XRP. As of June 23, 2017, Ripple was the third largest cryptocurrency by market cap of $11.94 billion, following Bitcoin (BTC) - $45.26 billion, and Ethereum (ETH) - $31.53 billion.

Crypto currency is considered as such if it is based on blockchein technology. On the basis of its management, the Crypto-currency is already divided into decentralized Crypto-Currency and Centralized Crypto-Currency. These are two varieties of crypto currency. This is so no matter who is related to the centralized crypto currency ripple.
