Title: What amount would be ideal to start trading with?
Post by: cryptothief on June 05, 2018, 08:19:44 AM
I started with $300, and at the time it bought me 1 ETH. But since then, I have introduced people to the markets who have bought in when Ethereum was at a price of between $700-1100. I think a minimum of $100 is best, means that you've got money to lose and you can also make some. It's all relative, but yeah, $100 would be my shout to make some decent money. Obviously the more you put in, the more you can make, but consequently the more you stand to lose too.

I think it depends on what you want to earn.
Do you want to get a new car?
Do you want just a little vacation?
Or do you want to earn the money of your lifetime?

I think the last question requires a little more. But $100 is also a good investment considering the market can x10 in a year time. You get a nice $1000.
Which banks gives you that much interest (ow also you can loose all)

I'd say start with a little bit more, you really need to diversify your investments and with only $100 you will be breaking your stack into such tiny piles that you will get eaten by exchange fees.  I'd say $500-$1000 but I guess if you have no choice 100 will make due.

For the beginners and new comers like us then better if to invest what you can afford to lose while learning about crypto investments so that in case of any problem that may occur during your training then the amount that will be wasted is can be ignore until you master the art of crypto investing.

The bigger your investment the bigger the profit would be! I think the best capital to invest for a beginers is $100 but this is just a very small capital and and the return would be smaller also.
When I was new to cryptocurrency I also invested, but with a smaller capital. This is just for me to test the myself in trading.

1 ETH dropping back down towards the level I bought at, doesn't really make any difference to me, at least that's what I tell myself. Of course it does, who is anyone kidding, get some money in the bank. Still waiting...

Almost coming out of this slump for the market, 400 is prolly as low as ETH will go.  Once BTC breaks through the 6800 barrier everything in the market will rise significantly.  Patience wins this game, don't let your emotions take over!  <3

I think trading is much easier when you have larger amounts so you dont try to min-max everything and overtrade (which can be a huge problem).   I'd say 1000.00 minimum with 5000.00 being preferable (or 1 BTC).  As my portfolio grew I felt I didn't care about each trade so much and just left my portfolio alone for the most part, and let it grow.. not saying hold.. but I quit trying to trade 1-3% swings and started doing 15-20%+

This.  As you get more money to trade with it becomes easier to diversify too, that $100 you were splitting into 5 separate stacks can now be $100-500 each at $5000 starting investment.  It may not seem like a big deal, but having more money gives you way more options so you aren't trapped in position everywhere, while still having enough to day trade with.

any amount as long as you can handle with losses, but it is not advisable for newbies to start trading with big capital since you didn't have enough knowledge on how the market reacts .

I think that it will depend on the coin and where you buy it. For ICO, there will be the minimum amount to buy. but, never buy the token or coin from the loan. Just buy with your own money. I start my first purchase for a coin $200. The result is small but it is a good beginning.

I'm a little familiar with trading on crypto-exchanges, tried with $ 100 of capital and at the moment they are frozen until better times. (For less profitable trading, you need $ 1000, this is my opinion, but the obligatory rule is not to play for last resort, as a rule this a losing option.

to start the initial learning to trade capital of $ 100 I think it's quite large enough, and we must really use our capital well, in trading we must have good analysis and must be able to be patient to deal with anything that will happen with the movement of coins is in the market.

If you are experience trader, then the bigger your capital the bigger profits you get but to those new trader then 100$ is good enough to try their luck in this technology. Learning is too expensive if they will start it at bigger capital.

if you a beginner, but you don't enter at once for a large sum as the risk of loss is present. When you understand something in the market and you will be ready to everything, enter the sum more

Only way is margin trading to make consistently everyday on such a small stack, but one mistake and you liquidate everything.  I still feel the same was as my original statement, that 100.00 is too small, 1000.00 is much easier and worth saving up til you get there.

For someone who's just met the crypto, the amount must be definitely small at first. This amount may increase after gaining experience in the trade. It's very important not to be greedy, moving slowly is the best strategy.

I think for beginners if you want to do bitcoin trading don't spend too much capital, just 100 $ -500 $. then hold it until the price is high, it's a good strategy for long-term trading.

Seems like the general consensus is $100 to learn the markets, and $1000 to start making real money once you've got the ball rolling. Obviously it all depends on what you can afford anyway, and everyone's circumstances will be different. The current market is very different to the end of 2017, back when a $30 investment in the right ICO could get you 10-50x. Now you're lucky if it hits the exchanges at anywhere close to the ICO price, most are coming in at below 50%. Trading in this market is not for the weak hearted either. I wouldn't advise any newcomers to invest a substantial amount of money until they're fully confident in their abilities, so $100 probably still holds true.

So true.. the ICO market is so insanely soft right now if I had an ICO I'd probably think of some BS reason to delay for 6 months.. with Ethereum at 350$ its a pretty good indicator of how good these projects are gonna do and the amount of money not available to invest in them.

There is no ideal amount . It all depends on how much you have to invest. You can start with $50. Profit is in proportion to  amount invested. The higher the amount the more the interest  but it is very easy to lose your capital with trading.

I began to trade with $150. I consider that it is necessary to begin with the small sum which in case of failure won't be a pity for losing. And when you will accumulate experience and you will feel the market, it is possible and to increase the sum to larger values

This is a classic instruction for beginners who want to start trading. In fact, you need to study a lot of information and develop a clear strategy for risk and capital management and only then start trading on small amounts to begin with.

People who don't have enough crypto experience should invest in small amounts initially because crypto is a dangerous place. So you should increase the amount as you gain experience.

It depends upon a persons budget on whether how much money is he or she willing to lose because it is not always christmas day on trading. Some times if you enter the wrong price of buying it will take weeks or months for a specific coin to recover.

In my opinion, if there is a good team and you get into it, no matter how much money you initially have.  Those people who have involved you in this whole kitchen will not put you in the mud.  And best of all, I think you should always follow simple rules of investing and never forget that you are just a man! 8)

There is no ideal number to start trading. But my advice, if you are still a beginner, do trading with a small value first. After you understand trading and can enjoy the process, you can gradually increase your trade.

@bitpation, that's a good suggestion. To start trading it is better to put our money into the smallest unit on several coins. It aims to anticipate losses if one of our coins cannot get profit.

To start trading, money is the last thing you need, you first learn, and then invest money, otherwise you will lose everything, do not hurry, but learn, there is no other way
