Title: ETF is not accepted for bitcoin. How about ETN?
Post by: densuj on August 18, 2018, 08:25:47 AM
American investors can now invest in bitcoin Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) through an Exchange-Traded Note (ETN) called Bitcoin Tracker One on the Nasdaq Stockholm Exchange in Sweden.

How do you think about it for the growing of bitcoin in the future?

The SEC has a deadline to meet this week: deciding on two proposed bitcoin ETFs from ProShares, the first of several decisions coming up in the next month. https://www.coindesk.com/the-sec-will-decide-on-9-bitcoin-etfs-in-the-next-2-months/
Sec can not stop bitcoin because it is digital asset soon or later ETF will be accepted, in my mind it is just about the time, wait and see for two next months later.

Yep, Coinbase and BlackRock are reportedly teaming up to create a Bitcoin ETF. https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinbase-considers-launching-crypto-etf-with-help-of-wall-streets-blackrock-say-sources

Things are going to get REAL INTERESTING if Wall Street starts working alongside crypto companies, rather than fighting them.

The fastest event that is likely to trigger a perpetual price cycle for Bitcoin and the general cryptocurrency market is the SEC's highly anticipated decision on the VanEck CBOE / SolidX Bitcoin ETF. Although the SEC has rejected all other Bitcoin ETF applications, many analysts see this specifically as most likely to be approved.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a cease and desist order and a $200,000 fine to Crypto Asset Management (CAM) and its founder Timothy Enneking, according to a document published on the commission’s website Tuesday, September 11. According to  CNBC, this is the first SEC disciplinary action against a digital asset management fund.

The SEC order says that CAM “misrepresented” itself as the "first regulated crypto asset fund in the United States," and raised $3.6 million from 44 investors in late 2017, bringing its net asset value to $37 million.

Bitcoin ETFs

I wasn't sure I would go forward with this, but I feel a moral and ethical obligation to. And while this is really going to upset and possibly enrage the close friends I have who work in some of the larger named Investment Banks on Wall Street, I want to share this with everyone I can reach in the crypto space and let the chips fall where they may.  Here's the deal:

The market has done a great job of convincing everyone the Bitcoin ETFs are the end-all be-all for crypto growth.  (They're not. At all.)

But they want you to believe this to get the prices down really really low for Wall Street. And everyone seems to be playing right into their propaganda. Realize that Bitcoin ETF's have been applied for and denied going back the last 5 years.

With our recent run testing a $1 Trillion crypto market cap, Wall Street woke up and realized holy hell there is actually a ton of money to be made in this space and it has barely begun. But they missed the boat! So they want in, cheap; Convince everyone these ETF proposals are paramount for the market to ever go up again. (What a joke!). Realize the most likely scenario is these Bitcoin ETFs will not be approved at all this year until early or late next year; all the while using each delay and denial to further drive down the price of BTC. We can stop this if we stop giving credence to their propaganda that is the importance of the ETFs.

Clearly the ETF Proposals are clouding the crypto space to the point it is absurd and ridiculous -- you see it, I see it, and yet we are all playing into it and spreading their manipulative message. Entirely too much focus is being placed on the ETFs.

What everyone needs to be focused on is the technology and adoption. Stay focused on the technology and adoption of crypto, it's what got the market to nearly $1 Trillion already, and let's all let the ETFs do whatever they're going to do.

If we can get everyone on the same page here (and if we work together we can) Bitcoin will brush off the ETF bull shiitake and the crypto market will continue to grow massively with the awesome developments in the crypto space.  Do not give Wall Street the pleasure of seeing you Tweet, Post, YouTube, etc anything having to do with the ETFs. Just stop. Let's bring it to a full stop my crypto friends.

Will you do your part to help the crypto community get back on track with focusing on what really matters -- the technology and adoption.  Shine the light on this important message and share it with all. Thanks in advance.

Together we are unstoppable.
Very Respectfully

Crypto is better than any university financial course.

Last year, nobody knew much about futures, ETFs, ETNs, custody.

In 2018, everybody is knowledgeable about ETF, futures market, institutional investors, and financial regulations!

Yes The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested further comment for its decision on the Cboe Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) today, September 20th. In a notice published on its website today the SEC said:
“Pursuant to Section 19(b)(2)(B) of the Act,30 the Commission is providing notice of the  grounds for disapproval under consideration. The Commission is instituting proceedings to allow for additional analysis of the proposed rule change’s consistency with Section 6(b)(5) of the Act, which requires, among other things, that the rules of a national securities exchange be “designed to prevent fraudulent and manipulative acts and practices, to promote just and equitable principles of trade,” and “to protect investors and the public interest.”
The SEC indicates that it has not yet reached a conclusion on the outcome of the Cboe Bitcoin ETF, but that it is seeking comments on the proposed rule change:  “Institution of proceedings does not indicate that the Commission has reached any conclusions with respect to any of the issues involved. Rather, as described below,  the Commission seeks and encourages interested persons to provide comments on the proposed rule change.”
The SEC has asked for comments to “address the sufficiency of the Exchange’s
statements in support of the proposal, which are set forth in the Notice“, highlighting the 18 key areas in their document. So far, the SEC has received over 1,400 comments on Cboe’s proposal.

It is a good news that Exchange-Traded Note allows American investors to invest in Bitcoin. I think this can lead to the positive movement of Bitcoin rates in crypto market.

Indeed. We just need to wait till ETF can be accepted. I am confidence that we will see a good news about ETF tomorrow.

Personally i am sure bitcoin ETF will be approved by SEC although basically the bitcoin does not really needs ETF because the system of bitcoin has been backed by PoW proof of work, and i think actually we don't need other legalitation from other. Unfortunatelly still many people who need rules for the bitcoin, they don't really understand about the decentralize of the blockchain on bitcoin, but let's wait and see for it.

I think the existence of ETN will be a very good thing as a replacement for ETFs, and this is good news to wait, and I think this will be able to develop the price of bitcoins that have not risen for a long time.
