Are all ICOs scam?
« on: March 21, 2018, 08:01:01 AM »
In recent times, it seems almost all the ICOs are scam. They present a catchy whitepaper just to get the attention of investors and after receiving the huge sums of money, do not even pursue the goals of what was presented in the whitepaper. The coins gradually turns out to be a pump and dump coin. It is no wonder China and other social media platforms banned all fake ICOs.

I guess all the lending ICO presently promoted are scams, so be careful in joining those lending or staking ICO. Do some research first before investing on those platforms or better invest on ICO that have a unique project with a useful platform with a solid and a team that are not hiding their identities.

in my opinion it is also difficult to choose an ico because most of them just to cheat, capitalize suit and position we can not distinguish whether it is a scammer or not. such as (otho network, denaro, plutoncoin, gasfiles) and much more

I don't actually support your first statement that a lending projects are scams. We can't just associate the fate of one lending project to another. It's just a matter of researching about team, read wp, and look out for advisors and that's all.

I agree with you, now a lot of fraudulent ICO or ICO with a good idea, but because of the weak team not reaches of success. Always look at those who is the project, because and technical paper and marketing and site may be perfect, but if the team is hidden and is available for communication, this should make consider openness of this project. Now there are a lot of good ico, but I don't have the possibility of time and follow the all at once, so will share those I studied and that noteworthy. Propose to take a closer look to them: EQUI, Unibright, XYO.

There are some but not at all before joining ico you have to choose a good manager campaign and must a lot of good karma to prevent scam.

It's true that there are ICO's that are just scam, but still there are those decent ones. So, better check all important details before investing or participating in any ICO.

Of course not. There is many successful ICO's and you have heard for sure about ETH or Stratis. There is plenty of bad ICO and this is true that more as 80% of them is not successful in the long run. That is why diversification is the key to invest in such a high risk ICO.

There may be some but certainly not all of them. Being a bounty campaigner we have to scrutinize conscientiously those ICO's before we join any of them as to avoid being scam. Don't let the high stakes or rewards they are offering fool us immediately but rather examine the ICO as a whole. Read their whitepaper, their objective and most especially their team. We obviously don't want our hard work to go to waste, do we?

Not all of ICOs are scam, some of them has real business, products, company behind the ICOs and the community. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find the good ICOs.

Yes ,i agreed with you ,there so many ICOs out there but i think there are few genuine ICOs. Now, you can only get good ICOs if you thorough research to find some factors that makes it good or a bad ICOs, like

1.Learn more about the project developers.
When evaluating an ICO, it is mandatory to do as much research as possible. This research effort also consists in reading about the team behind the project. While most companies launching their ICO are new on the market, chances are that members of the team have been involved in similar projects in the past. It is recommended that you go ahead and separately search for each of the team members, as a form of background check. To qualify, team members need to showcase expertise in their niche of business. A project with team members that lack experience is definitely a red flag. After all, if you’re launching a project and wish to raise money from the public, a level of trust needs to be established between the developers and the investors.

2.Read what other people think.
ICOs often market themselves to various digital currency forums, but also on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit and more.

3.Consider the road map and future plans.
Companies with realistic and well-developed road maps that share their future plans are always a better choice. As an investor, you want to know when the project started and how far the #DevelopmentTeam  has come. Additionally, you also want to know the future plans of the company following the ICO. If a company only wants to offer a certain service until the end of time, with no further investments and ideas planned out, then chances are their success will be short-lived. This is a bad sign for potential investors, as the token value increase potential remains limited.

4.Thoroughly read and evaluate the white paper.
White papers are basically the company’s pitch to potential investors. Because of this, they have to be well-written and include all relevant information about the company’s vision, how the services will work, features, developers and more. Most of the times, the quality of the white paper can either make or break a company, and it clearly shows whether the team is serious enough about their project.
