Effects of ad bans on cryptocurrencies?
« on: March 24, 2018, 12:19:51 AM »
Hi everyone! Seeing major social media platforms like Facebook, Google, Twitter & co ban crypto advertisement makes you think. Wondering what the long term effects of this will be now. You think it will even have any impact on big players like bitcoin? Might it just hit the new projects particularly hard?  :-\

I am rather happy these platforms are banning at the same time. It will help crypto market in the near future as there will be no source of fud. I wish all possible bans and fuds happen this year. Even if btc drops to $1000, with all the bans and fear created, I have hope that the future of crypto will be bright as haters won;t get any solid ways of causing panic sells on the market.

That's right, social medias are the main source of FUDs and noobs fall for it a lot resulting to panic selling. Banning crypto on those sites will help spread reliable news and will be beneficial to the community in the long run.

Good point guys! Haven't seen it from that perspective yet. That goes mostly for already established coins though. You think the new launches and ICO participation will suffer?

Unfortunately you can’t stop the main source of public FUD, which is the news outlets, that really affect the general public’s discourse of crypto.

The ad ban is more likely to hurt new ICOs and small cryptos, as these otherwise will have difficulty breaking out amid the still roughly 1,500 cryptocurrencies out there.

I still think reaching people and telling them about ICO's and Bitcoin itself will still be very possible. Hunters are good tools to spread the word. A lot of hunters have got well-designed websites and popular YouTube channels. Hunters are always increasing in number as well. The ad ban has no negative effects on cryptos. It was just a plus.

I'm kind of glad to see the ads being removed.. theres all kinds of dangerous things you can do with paid ads.. you can almost guarantee those people in the top 3 on binance referrals with over 100 BTC made their referrals likely off of some paid ad system... or fake binance links with a . or - hidden somewhere, that redirects to binance after people put in their information.. I'm glad this is all being shut down, its not good for this space.

it will be a sad hope for all cryptocurrency holders.
maybe later we have a stand-alone community without social media like that.

just let them block cryptocurrency because the proof we are still standing up to this moment.
retire and rest in peace

There will be no problem because in fact there are still many people who are in crypto. And we can see that crypto is growing and increasingly popular. This is evidenced by the increasing number of people joining crypto today.
