Question regarding Self Moderated Topics
« on: April 10, 2018, 03:36:21 PM »
Hi, I have been actively using this forum for a few weeks now. I want to create a self Moderated topic. But, I can't find an option to do so. Normally in other similar forum, the option to create a self moderted topic will be on the additional options. But I don't see any here. So, does the forum lack it or am I looking in the wrong place? A little help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Any update yet for the Self Moderated Topics query? I guess it's useful if the topic creator wants to keep his topic crispy and clean from the garbage posters.

Well it must have reasons. The one I can see is, to stop scammers. A scammer can easily manipulate his/her topic with self moderation. IMO a patrons and a royalty member will have less risk taking attitude for their accounts to scam someone else.

I agree, mainly self moderated topics are used for scam so I don't see a problem that OP has to reach to patron or moderator if you ha needs to delete something. They will check the thread and if Op is right they delete all spam, off topic, etc. There will be no abuse in self moderated topics if OP needs somebody with special rank to clean his thread.

I thought of sharing some informative post regarding altcoins and was planning to let others value add to the OP. But if you see, most threads will have some junk replies like "Omg this is so informative". I don't want that to happen to my topic, I want it to be very clean. And btw Royalty and Patrons can only self moderate the topics they created. But thanks for the idea,  I'll contact the local moderator to keep a clean topic and will see how it goes

I'm happy to see that this suggestion could be implemented. I have seen many times abuse of self moderated topics on BTT. The main reason for this topics to exist was like you said the desire to have a 100% clean from spam topic only with quality posts and real discussion. This turns out mainly to be abused. OP deleted all unwanted posts especially when poster raised awareness of probably something scammy going on. We can still have self moderated topics on our forum but with no way to abuse the system if moderators or patrons will be needed to delete unwanted and reported by OP posts.

So you decided to use these large font?  :)
Anyway these self moderation has both positive and negative implementation but having it on board will be an add on feature. It we see that most of the members are abusing it then we can disable it.

No, I don't think I can use large font always because some people could think that I shout or want to express my point. i just wanted to write few posts with larger font in few topics to see how it's look like and if this would be easier to read, looks better, etc. From what I see it looks and fits much better but I don't think that would be implemented. My suggestion thread is open and I invite you all to share your thoughts there https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=19627.0

self moderated topics are not good, because they silence any critics,
however, for the right price, we sell our soul to the devil,
patrons and royalty have the possibility to delete replies to own posts, thus effectively having self moderated topics.
however to avoid abuse, nothing is really deleted, it goes to recycle bin, thus if caught really abusing the patrons can be stripped of rank.

definition of abusing : mass deleting replies or deleting bounty/ airdrop submissions.

I like this statement.  8)

If anybody needs assistance with self moderated thread I will be glad to help. Of course we have to ask Admin for the price first.

Self moderated topic can help avoiding spams if there are spammers in the forum or to delete low quality replies/useless replies.

I don't agree with this. It's completely dependent on the OP how the feature is used. I am open to critics, what I hate is worthless replies. Anyhow it's good to see that you can have the feature by paying a fee.
