You won't find your standard address on the blockchain. Every single output is its own one time address, there is no choice about it.
Once RingCT is merged, transaction amounts will be fully obscured (they currently are ambiguous due to the split by denominations).
With Monero, nobody can see your balance from looking at the blockchain.

For example, on ethereum the lead devs were able to confiscate money from person they with no effort. Even if monero devs wanted to do that and had some mechanism to do that, they wouldn't even know which account to do that to because shielded addresses and some additional obfuscation.

Having no premine or ICO funding thanks to good low barrier to entry PoW distribution that even browsers can do and having truly decentralized development is another huge positive aspect for XMR.
