Can anyone tell me why Bitcoin is always on top rank coin?

There are several altcoins Ethereum,Ripple,Litecoin,Dash coin then why these coins are not coming at First rank? These coins have potential to grown then why not these coins are not to be first rank?

There is some important reason why Bitcoin is in top rank and why not others. I have given the reasons below from my personal opinion:

- Bitcoin is the first digital currency with blockchain only for transaction purpose. So, anyone can use bitcoin for any purpose.
So, it has become the secure way of the transaction of criminal or terrorist now. As you know terrorist and criminal are the big investor at present. So, by their investment they keep the coin live for the ease of their use.

- It has also good side. A secure and transparent way of the transaction without giving tax to anyone. That's why the use of bitcoin also raising.

Now come to the point of Altcoins why it doesn't rise enough to bitcoin?

Altcoins are based on specific business purpose which means a legit project are working behind any altcoins. So, it has to be very clear to pass any audit or verification. That's why it can't go close to bitcoin.

Yes and the reason bitcoin is number one except the capitalization of marketcap on coinmarketcap due to bitcoin is first cryptocurrencies, many people who trust in bitcoin than another of cryptocurrencies and all of cryptocurrencies follow the price of bitcoin, bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies in capitalization and in movement of the price.

It is because simply bitcoin is the first mover advantage. When it is the first, it would naturally be also the first to be spread around. When would we have learnt other coins before knowing about bitcoin.

2ndly, bitcoin is one of the most well distributed coins out there. Even now with thousand of different coins out there, one common problem all these coins faced is that there is no one coin that can reach out to such a wild variety of people out there.

The level of exposure, when you talk about crypto in local news or media, you will always  heard about bitcoin first. So it already have became a stagma that bitcoin is the leader and this kind of mindset will take a long time to change.

Bitcoin is one of the most decentralized coins. Even for top 50 coins, they may not be as decentralised as the coins will have certain co-founders having significant control over it. As for bitcoin, there is not really a singular sources that is able to dominate over it. So its power/admin/rights are very well distributed. For example, eth has well known co-founders to determine the development of the projects. We do have zcash facing a 51% attack because it is not well diverse enough etc.

What i guess is that bitcoin is the first to appear in crypto and earlier news that is release into the market is all about bitcoin blah blah blah... and as investors and general public they are not interested in knowing other types of coins unless you are someone whowish to venture into crypto space.

I think the main reason is because BITCOIN is the first and oldest crypto coin. It's also the most known even to people that don't know others crypto. It's for sure not the most advanced coin but it's still "the king"
