Can bitcoin replace money?
« on: September 17, 2018, 11:23:02 AM »
The intension of creating btc is to act as digital cash, that is solely controlled by individuals without Government interference. "I stand to be corrected" if that's true, will it "bitcoin" be generally accepted as one united digital currency?

It will not become a world currency as not all the countries accept it, not all of the people want to buy it and our world is not ready for such a big technicality.
The point is the Bitcoin will be more and more acceptable on Internet services, you could even pay for goods using it, but it will never be equal to dollar or euro or other currencies.

First of all all countries are not ready to accept crypto and bitcoin, yet. Second, even if the whole world accepts it, it won't replace fiat, it can't. It'll have better uses like easy and safe remittances around the globe but there are functions of fiat which can't be replaced by any virtual or digital currency.

in my opinion, bitcoin will not be able to become a currency in the whole world because there must be countries that reject bitcoin and there are certainly those who are interested in buying bitcoin and there are those who are not interested in buying it.

I am sure, someday Bitcoin will be accepted by the world as a single digital currency that will apply throughout the world. but I don't think, bitcoin will be able to replace ordinary fiat money. because even though after all, Fiat is still needed by society in general, while Bitcoin will only be used by modern people who have high knowledge.

I think it could be bro, but now is not the right time for the next few years because there are still many countries that are not ready to accept crypto, even some countries reject crypto

Bitcoin does not become a single digital currency. In this there is no need. We need a variety in the crypto currency, and it can ensure its good development.
Also, bitcoin can not replace national money. Decentralized crypto currency is able to walk in the state only in parallel with the national money of this state. No state will renounce its national currency to replace it with bitcoin or other crypto currency.

I don't see the possibility for the bitcoin to be one united digital currency. If you try to talk about bitcoin can replace money (fiat), I think it is impossible for now. Many countries still don't accept the bitcoin and it is always volatile and unstable. These are not good for the characteristic of money. So, for me, Money (fiat) still cannot be replaced.

I'm sure that this place will take another cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is too old and not modern.

I think so too, @SaepulMT. Many countries are not ready to accept crypto, including in my country. I also don't know why they forbid and reject crypto, even though crypto can provide a future for everyone.

basically, the function of money already exists and is owned by bitcoin, but I think it would be better both complement each other rather than to each. remember the original currencies have made history and identity for the country, while the bitcoin also has advantages and is a form of advanced technological development results which are also profitable.
