Hello mate, i don't think it is completely a bad idea to buy when prices are high, as in the situation of crypto market. The demand and supply principles will always play out in the market, and based on these rules, most people may buy a coin at the heap, hoping that the prices may keep rising as in the case crypto bull market of late 2917.

Nevertheless, to regain the lost from the bear market, i think that its advisable to Hold till the market recovers fully.
As for me, i like to buy during the bear market to enable me manage my profit and  lost accounts.

Some bought even though the price is high is because they want the token, altcoin or coin's price increase and some people sell their crypto at much lower price or to dump theur tokens that results in low price.
