Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: In case 2019 is the same as 2018
« on: December 21, 2018, 04:54:42 AM »
There is no guarantee either way, but it goes without saying that everyone is hoping for a more positive year. If it continues spiraling downwards for another year, it will be a huge mountain to climb, with plenty of coin (and investor) casualties along the way. Confidence in crypto would inevitably take an even bigger hit than it already has.

I don't think monthly reports are necessary, just a continuing update of the timeline and when significant stages are reached. I can't remember the name of the project now, but they had a great system, where they constantly had progress reports broken down into different sections, each indicating the percentage of progress that had been made. It definitely added a level of confidence in the work that was going on behind the scenes, even when it was running behind schedule.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: The crypto market is starting to improve?
« on: December 21, 2018, 04:47:56 AM »
Always good to see a bit of green when I wake up in the morning, even though currently it is only really the equivalent of a 10-1 scoreline. Let's hope it continues through to next year, then I think we will start to see some real support and a decent run though 2019.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Best altocoin to hold!!
« on: December 05, 2018, 01:44:45 PM »
I'm a NEO fan, think they'll make some big moves over the next 12-18 months. Have a small holding in a couple of the others too, but that's my shout for a long term hold. I guess time will tell. Either way I'm hoping for an overall market improvement through 2019.

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: Another December Bull run
« on: November 29, 2018, 01:32:37 PM »
A sustained bullrun is unlikely, but there will be plenty of opportunities to make short term gains. I'll be watching from the sidelines though, haven't got the balls to jump in and out that quickly. All I'm hoping for is to get a bit more money in at these prices in readiness for the next 18 months.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What Will Be The Lowest Price of Bitcoin This Year,
« on: November 23, 2018, 03:28:58 AM »
No expert, but from what I have been reading, we're not at the bottom yet. Already looking to 2019 and hoping that we can see a more steady rise, rather than the rollercoaster ride we've seen so far. Not a fan of the volatility now that I have less time to spend keeping an eye on the markets. I used to enjoy it, made from some great trading opportunities. Another halving is not out of the question, but I'm hoping it's almost bottomed out. Really don't want to see it down at the $2000-2500 mark.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: We are still early adopters
« on: November 23, 2018, 03:25:13 AM »
Being early adopters isn't always a winning strategy. There could be plenty of opportunities to make money with other investment options depending on how long you are looking to wait for. I'd like to see a considerable rise over the next 12-18 months to return a bit of confidence to the markets. I have no doubt that cryptocurrency, in one form or another, is here to stay. My concerns are that 99% of the ones that currently exist will disappear, and it will be new players that reap the benefits. I'm sticking around, just grown a lot more cautious over the past year.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Avoiding Emotional Behavior in Tradings
« on: November 14, 2018, 12:42:46 AM »
I agree 100% with removing any emotions from trading, and there is no point saying it 'cannot be avoided'. Of course it can, even though it's not easy. You just have to trust the numbers, everything is black and white. Work on set percentages, set stop losses, and don't change your mind. Nothing is a sure fire winner, but you should end up with more consistent gains. It is a long term strategy, and might not make you a millionaire, but should also avoid any huge losses.

Hello, I am new here but willing to learn. You can hit me up with every advice you have from your experience in the world of cryptocurrency.
Are you the same vod on BTT?
Licking my boob since 1970  :o

By the way welcome to the forum mate whoever you are. See you around. Try reading the stickies around the boards.

Somehow I doubt that the Vod from the other forum would be introducing himself in that way. He is not exactly a newcomer to the world of crypto.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Inactive dead coins awareness
« on: November 08, 2018, 05:23:13 AM »
Definitely worth checking out, shows the risk of investing money into any altcoins and the high likelihood that most of them will end up on the site. Plenty of money to be made in the meantime, but don't just throw money in, HODL, and expect to become a millionaire. Need to pay attention to the markets, take profits when they are available, and always be aware of the old saying 'Never invest more than you afford to lose'.

Sorting Box / Re: Best crypto social media channels
« on: October 25, 2018, 12:57:26 PM »
There's some great YouTube channels, have come in very useful for me over the past year. I still follow the following ones.

https://www. youtube.com/user/chrisdunntv (Chris Dunn) - just remove the gap before 'youtube', the link not displaying properly otherwise.

www.youtube.com/channel/UCCatR7nWbYrkVXdxXb4cGXw (DataDash)

www.youtube.com/channel/UCnqZ2hx679DqRi6khRUNw2g (TheChartGuys)

www.youtube.com/channel/UCGyqEtcGQQtXyUwvcy7Gmyg (Altcoin Buzz)

Worth checking them out for basic knowledge training, technical analysis, cryptocurrency/ICO reviews and more. A lot depends on content, but personality matters too, as some of the channels can be over the top cheesy (sometimes these can be a bit too, but guess I'm used to them by now). I'm sure there are more out there, but these are my top four.

Chainlink Forum / Chainlink - the hidden gem
« on: October 23, 2018, 05:39:30 AM »
Always been a fan of Chainlink, invested in it for the first time last November, and it's finally beginning to pay off. Up 500% against ETH and around 150% in dollar terms. Holding for the moment, just wish I'd had enough money back then to put in a decent amount and see some real returns. Not complaining though, especially considering how the rest of my portfolio has performed.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Bounties Are A Complete Mess Now
« on: October 21, 2018, 05:46:35 AM »
Bounty hunting is a gamble, some you will win and some you will lose. If you pick your projects wisely, you should come out on top overall. Just remember that you should do as much research into a project you plan to take part in a bounty on as you would if you were investing money. The only difference is that you are investing time and effort instead of money. Nothing comes easy in this life, just don't get caught up in projects promising huge rewards if you can't see genuine value in the project itself, as the likely outcome is that you will end up with a pile of coins/tokens that are worth next to nothing.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: After a Bad Sell
« on: October 21, 2018, 05:42:50 AM »
Everyone has a story about selling 'too early', but as has been touched upon above, any profit is an achievement. If you can spot winning trades and manage to get a profit out of them, then you are doing better than many other investors. I could name a few coins where I sold too early - Powerledger, Lumens and XRP. But I've also got out of coins just before a drop, so it's swings and roundabouts. Take pride in your wins, and move onto the next one.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How do you save money for a long term?
« on: October 21, 2018, 05:39:17 AM »
I wouldn't advise investing in crypto as a saving money strategy, it is still a very high risk investment. As the OP mentioned, the top ten are in a lower risk category, but still high compared to investing in something like property or bonds. I'm investing in crypto for bigger gains down the line, but understand the risks associated with that. If I lose everything I've invested, I can still fall back on other income. This is fun for me, I like risk, but only with money I can afford to lose (and maybe a little bit more).
