Protonmix's development has learned from Chipmixer. The Bitcoin you get existed before your wallet transfer.
If you have used chipmixer, you can use Protonmix like using chipmixer.

The first step, you need to deposit the BTC address that provided by Protonmix.
When the block is confirmed, you can take the second step. Here you can choose to get a private key or voucher. You can also choose a small chips for donations.
Then you can go to the third step. Here you will show the private key or voucher you get, or both.
When you confirm that the information is saved, you can enter the fourth step to destroy this session
A simple mixing process is completed.

I don't deposit a lot of bitcoins in protonmix, right now protonmix supports any amount from 0.001-0.999 direct and no mixing fees, this means that if you deposit 0.123btc to protonmix, you will also get 0.123btc from protonmix, and also it means that for every mixing of the user, I lose some transaction fees for every mix the user makes.
I've set aside some btc to cover the transaction fees, let's see how long it takes to spend them all?

Cloudflare is not a good start for any service that claims to offer high privacy.

- 2 days old domain
- claims of being the follow-up on CM, being a former user I'm going to take that claim with a ton of salt
 -no proof of any reveres whatsoever, you could have used the donation address for that

The minimum amount is 0.001 BTC and the maximum amount is 0.999 BTC
Depositing 1.2345 BTC will result with 1.234 BTC funds.
Depositing 0.1239 BTC will result with 0.123 BTC funds.

For transactions under 20 BTC we require 1 confirmation.

Your max is 0.999, why not 1, but then why the under 20 BTC 1 confirmation?
If the max is 0.9 why the first example is 1.23?
Also, you say chips but why not disclose the chip's size?

I think you would be doing yourself a favor to change the text branding on the front page to something that's not "Mixing reinvented for your privacy", because there are quite a few fake ChipMixer clones even after the real site got seized, and you don't want your branding to look similar to ChipMixer (even though your logo and name is quite different which is good) so that people do not suspect that your site isn't trustworthy.

Maybe add some details about your service to the front page too.

I agree with the comments of the other colleagues, I think that claiming they are the new CM is an overstatement. However I see a willingness to do things right, as they have already changed the text to 'Mixing Reinvented For Your Privacy' as suggested by NotATether recently.

You know what I think you need to do, ProtonMix? On the one hand to hire some expert in mixers from this forum to help you to improve the project, and on the other hand you run a signature campaign that pays above what the other mixers pay, to hire the absolute best posters from this forum, as it happened in Bitcointalk with CM. That way your project will start to look like CM.

Thanks for the reply, I won't be doing anything like that for a while yet, commercial mixers make a lot of commission that can be used to support them in doing this, and ProtonMix is not a commercial program

I agree with you that a mixer with a storage capacity of 1.2 bitcoins may even look funny.

First, I'm not sure if there are bugs in the program that could lead to the theft of funds, and I wouldn't invest too much in this mixer until it's been tested.
Second, many mixers have a minimum amount of 0.001 btc, and I think it makes sense to offer low or even zero-fee mixing for small amounts of bitcoin less than 0.999.

Given that I am well aware of the way in which CM operated, I can only say that in the end it turned into something bad for end users, more precisely those who for some reason saved coins on private keys or vouchers. Although they claimed that such things are deleted after a while, it turned out that all private keys and vouchers with balance were swept away the moment the mixer was taken down.

Your main problem is how to gain trust, not only in the mixing process, but also in security and privacy, where CM unfortunately failed in the end.

I understand how CM worked, I used CM for years and I was part of the CM gang on BTT for years, it's quite the opposite, you are missing a thing here, and that is the variety of chips.

With CM for example if you were to mix 0.1 B you would get 0.64 + 0.032 + 0.004 but you could further split your chips into 3 x 0.032
or even split them again.

In your reserve idea, you have chips of the value:
 0.001, 0.002, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5
that makes 0.9 of your reserves but if someone would want to go with the CM model he would deposit 0.4 BTC and want them split into 4 0.1 BTC chips, someone would deposit 0.5 and again would want 4 0.1 chips and two 0 0.05 chips.
With your liquidity, if you have 1.2 BTC and 0.7 stuck in 0.2 and 0.5 chips you would have no way of fulfilling an order of 9 0.1 chips, despite the order being lower than your reserve.

It's a matter of change, you need way more low-specific chips than the orders you're taking.
