what about merging some boards? here are a few easy to merge boards

I found those ones very easy to merge into one:

Bitcoin Forks

Inside this, we have 3 additional boards with very low activity: bch, big and bsv. Just move all topics to the forks board and delete those boards.

Ethereum
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=3.0
There are so many boards here: solidity, basics, Ethereum news, Eth Price (not even a board anymore, just a link to another board), eth tokens.

Just delete this link to eth price.
Basics board should just be moved to ethereum.

This way we have eliminated 2 boards.


Why do we have a binance connection and a binance smartchain forum?
It would be the same as having an ethereum and an Eth boards.

I find those duplicated boars just make harder to post, harder to find posts... this reduces interactive in the forum.

I really like the "graveyard" thing, seems fitting, just move those three coins there and that's it!

Joking aside, they should be treated like normal altcoins, nobody really cares about forks anymore.

You are actually right, most of these boards aren't that necessary, they could be combined to one and if anyone wants to discuss issues relating to them, he can still discuss under the selected boards. I have always wondered why we have so many boards for some coins that aren't even in the market anymore or are less important. Though it's an altcoins forum but not all coins are relevant to create a board for. it just makes the whole forum a bit bulky.

But it is a waste of time and useless clutter for those who actively use the forum and know the appropriate place for certain topics. If we talk about the quality and usability of the forum, the same boards in several places certainly affect the quality reduction.

Also, there are too many very similar subboards, it seems to me that it is not a mistake to write the same thing in any part, where in the end everyone writes in the place that is visited more.

I am not for or against the redirection boards, but I do agree we have entirely too many boards here and people are just getting lost. I'd have to look through my post history to find the exact numbers, but this place has roughly 2x the boards that bitcointalk has. Yes, this is not bitcointalk and I am well aware of that, but we could use a reduction.

1 might also say that that's what mods are for as far as moving topics to appropriate places when it comes to redirection.

Not to open a new thread, but what are the chances that the "announcement board" is somehow divided into two parts, one for altcoins/tokens and similar, and the second for all other crypto-related services?
In addition to many subboards, we have a section where ANN from Mixer, exchanger and Puppy Coin Blockchain are equal.

It is best to focus on finding mods who have a good background about ETH/SOL/LTC and ready to manage good discussions there, @ Peter90 and @MRSPASYBO have good discussions here and I hope they have more permissions to make the forum better.


This reminds me of the former mod of the BTT mining board, although the board was very strict, but the percentage of purposeful discussions was very high and was one of the best boards of forum.
