The project development plans have been adjusted since the Relictum Pro creation in order to expand the ecosystem and its features, which allowed to implement the modern blockchain industry tools.

What is decentralization?

Decentralization means any situation where a computer network operation is controlled not by a central authority, but rather by the community.

💻The term "decentralized" is often confused with the term "distributed". A distributed system is where multiple computers share resources and processing power to execute a task.

Money is an important part of life in the physical world. People use it to pay rent, buy food or travel. When it comes to international travel, they follow a familiar scenario to exchange their money for the currency used by the destination country. Web 3.0 features a similar mechanism called cross-chain bridging.

A cross-chain bridge, also known as a blockchain bridge, is a connection between two blockchains that can be used to perform actions like moving assets or data from one chain to another. Technically, this creates an interaction between two ecosystems. In addition, the bridge is also needed due to the growing number of decentralized apps (dApps) on various blockchains and “level 2” solutions. Their goal is to improve their own unique features associated with security and trust.

Importance of cross-chain bridges

Differences in protocols, managing structure, and other factors limit the ability of various ecosystems to interact. This is due to certain limitations of the blockchain ecosystems. This means that a particular network is unable to monitor and understand the activities of other networks. However, blockchain bridges create interoperability within Web3. The isolation of each blockchain economy requires mandatory use of a blockchain bridge.

How does it work?

Token transfer is one of the many ways a blockchain bridge operates. Smart contracts are used to lock up a certain amount of cryptocurrency that a user is willing to transfer from one blockchain to another. A tokenized version of another cryptocurrency, also known as a "wrapped token", is usually unwrapped immediately after the first token type is locked.

Decentralization and anonymity solve the problem of violating user privacy in Web3 games

The widespread use of big data in traditional service has made user information less sensitive. Even when personal identifiers such as usernames and identifiers are deleted, the information stored in big data associated with various user behavior is still sufficient to re-identify and track a person.

Relictum Blockchain believes there are two main reasons why users' confidential data are leaked:

firstly, user data may be transferred or sold by centralized network platforms without efficient protection of user personal privacy;

secondly, the traditional website sign in system usually requires users to provide personal information such as a phone number, email address, or even identity authentication. This means that every virtual account is traceable and matches a real person.

A decentralized and anonymous blockchain can efficiently prevent such problems.

Accounts in Web3 games are displayed as wallet addresses. The wallet is created using smart contracts, and its address and transaction records are transparent and publicly open, but they do not depend on the gaming platform.

On the one hand, there will be no need or channel for gaming platforms to collect or share user data.

On the other hand, due to the blockchain anonymity, the user does not have to provide any personal information when creating a wallet, and therefore the wallet will not be connected to the actual identity of the owner, which efficiently protects the user privacy.
