I'm skeptical why you didn't buy even when Bitcoin was trading around a thousand dollar, missing $40 should be a motivation to buy even higher. However, even though such opportunities are gone, there is gong to be one or who that will come to the market that will be worth buying, I have seen how project like Injective protocol did some months ago.

You're right, every approach has its own risks involved, as long as it has to do with cryptocurrency. Different people have different perspectives of cryptocurrency and different ways and approaches that aligns with their goals and objectives, those who trade have their own reasons why they have chosen to become traders, those who HODL also have their own reasons for HODLing and those who also choose to Stake also have their personal reasons that influences their decision even after knowing of the other available options, maybe due to past experiences or what they've been told about the other options.
The most important point to note in all these is that every approach has its own risks involved, one person's risk tolerance level may not be the others, so everyone should choose and follow their own personal approach due to their risk tolerance level.

I think it is quite obvious that we are going to get some decent return if we keep grinding on those other methods as well. But I agree that by far the best method to make money is trading/investing, if you keep doing that then you are going to make a lot of money, or maybe you won't but yo would be on the right path. This means that as long asy ou do what you should be doing, and on that right path, you will get a better result eventually, you just need to get better at it.

It depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it
there are methods but everything has a risk, if you earn a lot, you risk a lot
I've seen methods that give you 15% APY but the best method so far has been my lending bot (now turned off) which gave 34% APY
I tried to sell/rent it without success

There are different means through which we can make money from cryptocurrencies aside from doing trades, we need to explore more on the networks to know what and how we could best fit in for such opportunities in so many of these cryptocurrencies, also, we shouldn't think about other sources as being free from taking risk, if we must really make money, then we have to take risk.

People are just in thought that trading will give them daily profit but this is not even guaranteed for an expert so how newbies can earn daily due to trading. Don't expect too much from trading because when our expectations do not come true then we cannot continue trading in an affordable way.

Investment can give us profit but it also requires learning but deep concentration is not needed in investment like that of trading. Daily profit is possible due to trading but just for a few times not for the whole life because trading is hazardous and is not sure about your success.

You know most times people don't know what they could be missing at the point of not following the crowd at the right time, we all knows about cryptocurrencies for long but since because weren't convinced enough about the development so we pay deft ears to it why because we think is something that would fail one day. What about me, as then I keep hearing about people talk about bitcoin but since I wasn't drawn closer to understand it very well I had to miss all my chances even as that I don't still fail to put interest after i have gotten to know about it.
