I think that Bitcoin will have almost no problem so far. It has dominated the market for too long and therefore it has too strong a position. Other coins just can't compete with him in this matter.

Bitcoin is the king of the cryptomarket and it has huge market capitalization than other all altcoins so BTC is more popular and strongest coin than ripple but ethereum already defeated by ripple but currently the cryptomarket situation is changed ethereum is more strong than ripple thus ethereum market capitalization is too high than ripple so this year that's impossible.

From my point, I dont see Ripple to ever beat Ethereum and Bitcoin. Ripple to me, is just Ripple. Compared to Bitcoin which I see will for Coin the will remain dominant always. Ethereum on the other hand have so many projects which makes people buy ETH.

I don't believe It will happen, Bitcoin bad ethereum are superior on CMC. Ripple has potential to be more valuable and popular. But Bitcoin and ethereum are still the best.
