Title: How Much Money do You Have When You Lose Gambling??
Post by: masudginanjar on February 15, 2024, 05:48:38 AM
If I surf the altcoinstalks forum, especially gambling forums, it seems like I haven't found a thread about gamblers' losses, that's why I made this post.

I'm not a gambler and I don't want to gamble but this reality happens in my work environment in the office.
My boss apparently found out by my colleagues and all the company advisors that my boss had gambled and suffered losses.
Unmitigated, the loss reached 44,000 USD and that's the equivalent of the newest Honda SUV where I live, that's a lot of money and this really shocked me. :o

Those of you who like to gamble, how much money do you have when you lose when gambling??
Is my story the same as the story of those of you who have a boss or friend and the boss or friend gambles and loses?
If anyone has the same story as mine, how much money did they lose when gambling??

It seems that I don't really believe what happened to your boss because his losses after gambling were very much funds.
This doesn't make sense to me, but if that really happened, maybe it was a fatal mistake made by your boss, causing you to lose gambling with such a large amount.

I'm the same as you, I don't gamble but I see friends (men) at the garment factory where I work seem to use a little money to gamble.
I occasionally hear them talking like this "I want a deposit, do you have around 5-10 USD on your credit card?"
This question was asked to his male friends and I occasionally heard it when I sat resting together. Maybe my estimate is that their gambling loss is "probably" around 5-10 USD according to what they deposited.

Yesterday I was on campus and I was around friends who like to gamble and they talked every day about the Jackpot in the rest area.
I don't want to bother them gambling because I also often admonish them to stop gambling first because their campus assignments are still piling up and there is still a lot that hasn't been completed.
Moreover, I asked them how much money they had lost while gambling, maybe every time I entered campus I would be attacked or, perhaps worse, I would be beaten up at a busy time (bullying).

I don't want to be a friend who starts hostility, but I want to be a friend who is friendlier to them like as in this altcoinstalks forum very friendly.
Sometimes I also admonish them to do their college assignments because I care about their grades which will be an obstacle when they graduate from college.

I personally don't gamble that much that is why I still have money left on me when I lose in gambling and one thing is that I put a limit on how much I can only gamble a month to lessen the chances of losing the money I cannot afford to be wasted.

Of course losing bets is a common occurrence in gambling but I am an irregular gambler so I naturally distance myself from gambling after making a big profit in gambling. But even if I lose big in gambling, I restrain myself and participate in gambling after some time. I don't bet with very big amount but I usually bet with Sports betting because in this case, if you bet on football and cricket, you can easily guess which team can win according to the strength of the team. I usually bet on the good team and even if the odds are low, the bet is sure to win.

That's a lot of loss for your friend. I personally do gamble occasionally, but I'm still reasonable, I mean with a small amount of loss and I'm ready to lose it.

In fact, I don't think my total loss will reach 44k. Because I do gamble with the minimum possible money, and sometimes I also win big and that is an advantage for me.

There will be many stories of experiences about gambling, and the stories must be different.

Your boss loses that kind of amount because I presumed that he has the money, more money I mean to gamble. He may lose but we never know that he has won also more than he lost at one time in his gambling activity.

For me, personally, I would not lose that kind of amount as I only bring the amount that I could afford to lose.

This sounds very crazy and it's not a small amount of money, it's a lot of money and it's a terrible loss of money.
Your boss is so temperamental that he can't control his gambling emotions and spends his money very easily from his wallet.

As I often say, in the neighborhood I live in, no one gambles, but in my mother's neighborhood, there is a neighbor who gambles, but maybe he doesn't lose as much money as your boss.
Maybe only a few USD was lost from the gambler who lived around my mother and father because he was often caught gambling with his friends and his friends said that when he gambled he lost around 10-20 USD.
The calculation of the 10-20 USD funds used up could be in one day, two days, 1 week or maybe 2 months, I don't know.

Well, zero, d'OH!  ;)

Also raw numbers are irrelevant.
$44k might mean 10 years of average wage in Philippine or half of year of wage in Norway.
It could also mean more than all a person has earned in his live or 1% of what he makes a year!
Somebody losing $100 might be in worse situation than somebody losing $5000 so hardly relevant for the persons involved.

Even though casino that I gamble has accounts statistics, but with its help I cant calculate how much I have lost. It shows how much I have deposited and withdrawn, but accounts isnt detailed much. Or it will take extremely a lot of time to calculate deposit>calculate how many bets I have placed, won and lost> how much I have withdrawn and to all that math I have to add different bonuses, bets with bonuses. It is easier to tell, that the ration deposited/withdrawn did not make influence on my finances.

are you asking the change that's left after losing the game or the amount the gambler loss? Well as from your boss story every gambler has loss one time or the other and your boss is a gambling addict man and the only waY for him to stop losing is for him to set a budget for daily spending in gambling and be a responsible Gambler.

Does this have to be the total or how much money is spent on deposits? Because they are quite different. I'm not the type who makes a lot of deposits, it's just that I do a few things that make a small deposit so I can continue to stay on the platform and use it for these activities. Of course, do it only with money that we can afford to loose. Keep controlling yourself so that you don't fall into the addiction of gambling device. Because this is really dangerous.

So if you calculate it, the money I deposited was probably less than $100. but if the total loss in gambling, I don't know, I personally don't count it, of course it's more. Because we won't always win, right?

I don't know the exact amount, but the highest amount I've spent on gambling in a single minute after depositing was around $2-3k. It was the biggest bet I've ever made and I regretted it so much. Compared to your boss's losses, it's just a small amount but the amount in my country is enough to purchase a motorcycle.

Because maybe he is the boss of the company where I work, so he just goes around gambling without looking around him in the company.
What you said could be like that because I'm also not sure what happened to Boss, this is what shocked me.

I also don't understand that he gambled and could lose that much money, I just imagine that 44,000 USD is impossible for me to get if I work 4 years or more in this company.

No problem mate, i'm also from country not using English , so my English too bad.
Yeps, I asked like this, if you gamble, how much total money have you lost in gambling?

I'm a little curious about the story. What happened next? Is it the boss's personal money or does it impact the company you work for?
What is most noticeable is that every month's salary from month 1, 2, 3, 4 there is a bottleneck in salary payments. All the workers are complaining and asking why our salaries have been late lately.
My friend (who has a higher position than me) at work finally had the courage to ask the company advisor and finally had an internal discussion (maybe urgently meeting company officials), which finally found out that my boss had lost in gambling, a total of up to 44,000 USD.
What's worse is that my boss gambled and lost his gamble by losing 44,000 USD using company money, part of which was to pay employees. That's why my salary at that time was always late for several months and it made all the employees panic and chaotic because all the employees so far had not made any mistakes or done anything negative.

I used to gamble over my head from the age of 4 and 1/2 to about the age of 33 and 2/3

I no longer gamble because I alway lost too much on my losing days.

I once walked 12 miles from a racetrack to my home because I was broke from betting on the horses. So broke I spent my train fare to get home.

So what I am thinking is correct. Your boss is spending a lot of money on gambling, the more shocking is that he is not using his own money. I can also see that there is a possibility that he is attempting to recover his losses, more like this has been happening for a lot of months. It is disappointing to see this kind of situation, especially that your boss has a position and responsibility in your company.

In my case much less than your boss. A few years ago I have even lost a few hundred euros per session, in some sessions. But more recently I've even become more moderate and it's tens of euros, like 50 euros maximum in one session. Lately if for example I deposit in a cryptocurrency casino I can deposit 20 dollars and play slots for example in one session. If I win 100 dollars or more I withdraw it, if I lose nothing happens. Even when I was betting more heavily and therefore had bigger losses in some sessions it was money I could afford to lose.

It is shocking how much money these wealthy people lose money in an instant in gambling, like Drake who lost millions, and Jordan whose losses run in tens of millions, we feel that it is a waste of time but then again these wealthy earn a lot of money that it's just a fraction of what they are making, the highest I've loss in gambling was $500 its already a big amount and it's my one-month income, for average income earner we take it hard even if we lose a few hundreds because we do not have the luxury of earning like what these rich people do.

Phil, on what where you gambling when 4?  ;D
I knew you were betting on the ponies from out other topic but, at 4???

I once walked 12 miles from a racetrack to my home because I was broke from betting on the horses. So broke I spent my train fare to get home.

Well, it was good for your body, you got enough time to lose all the anger, you had time to meditate..
But that's why I only bet on horses from the computer and I always load my account only with prepaid cards and get out of there every big win cause I know having money there will change my way of betting.
That being said, I once was at Ascot and once at Kempton, to be honest nothing beats the atmosphere there, you can't have the same in your house.

Also raw numbers are irrelevant.

As I told you it's about the amount of money he could have at its disposal at a certain time.
For example if I would get completely mad and spend the business of my family money I could probably throw away 1 million, but its' not that we have  millions in cash!! or that we would made such a profit in a year, but if I were to time my mistake I would maybe be able to do it.
And those two millions would look like an insane amount when the actual profits in a bad year are in the 1-3% margin.

That's the same for your boss maybe, he spent the money he was suppose to use for other things.
Having 100k in the pocket out of which 40k is for wages, 30k for buying equipment, 20k for running costs and 5k for bank loans doesn't mean you have 100k but 5k to spend.

I never gamble for money outside of entertainment I always gamble for entertainment. Since I use this gambling game as entertainment, I use a fixed budget of 1 to 5% of income for this gambling game. If I use 1 to 5% of the income, I will definitely have more extra money if I lose gambling. But even if I had extra money, I would never gamble with that money because I would never budget for gambling beyond my set budget. Especially I use sports sites for gambling and sports sites are very good for me and I can make predictions here. I do not participate in any gambling other than this sports site because I have a lot of fun based on sports sites. I have lost very little in gambling so far.

@ OP, If you don't gamble and the same time doesn't want to gamble, then I would advice you not to engage on any gambling discussion. Else you could be inspired to gamble somedays and apparently, gambling is best suit for those who are ready for it because it requires an emotional uphold to take control of yourself. If not, your jumping into gambling just with the attractive discussions out of it might end you up regretting it because you where either not fit in and ready for it. So, please don't engage on what you are not ready for. Just an advice

We need to culture ourselves while gambling because if we don't it would lead to unnecessary expenses where you wouldn't know when to use your company's funds to gamble and ends up being broke. I have never be in this condition before were I will gamble and emptied myself entirely, I have limits to my gambling lose and I won't gamble blindly where I can't know that I am wasting my money.

I just heard this and it sounds strange to me.

It is also possible that he is attempting to recover his losses, as this has been a recurring issue for several months. It is disheartening to see this kind of behavior, especially given that your boss is in a position of authority and responsibility within the company.
It is not known how often he gambled, but what is known is that the total loss and loss of money was around 44,000 USD and my boss must be held accountable for this because this money is company money for employee salaries.

That's the same for your boss maybe, he spent the money he was suppose to use for other things.

No, he didn't spend his 44,000 USD for other purposes, but it was purely all he lost in gambling.
BTW, before finding out why my company was late in paying salaries, my friend who had a higher rank than me dared to ask the company advisor and then held an internal company meeting with company officials and my boss.

But I have someone close to me who did that, he told me the story, that he wasn't able to control himself and then he cry in front of me. It was like a decade ago, but still the memories is fresh in my memory that I remember it. So when I gamble, I will also have money behind my back to that I can go back home after I lost all my money.

I am a person who has learned many strategies of the game thanks to experience, which are based on trial and error, when I started I lost a lot, almost that if I had 200usd to play, I lost the 200 and I even looked for money and lost it, In fact, I came to the point of telling myself that I wasn't good for this, that most of the things I was looking for on YouTube were people winning the game and I wasn't, or what I was doing was losing, then over time I began to realize that I shouldn't bet all the money because later without money things are more difficult.

Later, with the passage of time, I also learned some trading and thanks to trading I realized that things could be done very differently, I learned that the money I put into trading had to be the one I was willing to lose without it affecting my life, and the same applies in gambling, so when I play my money willing to lose does not exceed $10.

I never gamble in such a way that if I lose a game I will lose all my money or I will continue to gamble until I run out of money. I bet some part of the money I have and when I put the money in the budget I don't think I can lose it and I don't regret it. Since I didn't think about these things beforehand, I don't regret it much even if it means losing money. If we regret these things, we will feel like we are gambling with more money, but these cannot be done at that time, but at that time we have to wait patiently for the opportunity. At that time, if one can patiently wait for the opportunity and if one can bet again at the right place during the opportunity, then the loss will be easily recovered. I think a gambler should always keep in mind some tricks when it comes to gambling.

I have not come across any real story where any of my office bosses were addicted to gambling and loss large amount of money. But I saw one of my roommates who lost all his job money while gambling. He was so addicted to gambling that after finishing his job he did nothing but gambling. I was amazed how he lost all the money from his job in just one day. His rate seemed too high to me. But he took such a big risk because he had won huge amounts from gambling in the past. But personally I am not interested in using such money in gambling. I am interested in gambling losing but never betting with all my assets.

My biggest loss in gambling was probably around 200usd. But at that time I felt like I was possessed by greed. because actually the 200USD that I lost was originally a profit that I could take. But I chose to replay it in one go and it was all gone. This made me realize that greed is what destroys a person, whether in business or in gambling.

The money I use for gambling is no more than 1% of the money I have. Because that's the only thing I can be willing to do if I have to lose. I am also trying to avoid gambling.

The money I use for gambling is no more than 1% of the money I have. Because that's the only thing I can be willing to do if I have to lose. I am also trying to avoid gambling.

It's hard for me to lose 200usd, it's a lot of money and it helps a lot, but if now you're Trying to Avoid Gambling it's very good of you , sometimes you leave it because you feel you can lose more, I honestly lost Something like that at the time and It was very difficult for me to be able to recover them again because things are very different in terms of work for that time, however when I had losses of that style I ended up scared , I didn't like it at all, it was as if I had done something very bad, and it lasted mentally badly, of course this is something that Affected me in that sense , I could say that when a person loses a lot of money they have to put their hand on their heart and avoid it at all costs.

In other games of chance it is unlikely that one loses, because the game is like that , it is About winning and losing, what you are Looking for is that you can Win much more than lose , that is what you basically have to look for, otherwise It is better to stop and look for another strategy.

Those of you who like to gamble, how much money do you have when you lose when gambling??
Is my story the same as the story of those of you who have a boss or friend and the boss or friend gambles and loses?
If anyone has the same story as mine, how much money did they lose when gambling??
Your boss loses that kind of amount because I presumed that he has the money, more money I mean to gamble. He may lose but we never know that he has won also more than he lost at one time in his gambling activity.
Even though his boss has one time won more than he has lost, he will still put all the money he had won, back to gambling. That's the major habit of an addicted gambler. They don't use any money they have won from gambling to actualize a good thing. They will return it(money won) to gambling by gambling until they go bankrupt. That's why each time you ask a gambler how much has they made from gambling? Their answer will be none because they keep betting even when they are losing. Their winning doesn't come regularly compared with their winning.

That is a very dangerous move in my opinion. And this happened in most irresponsible gamblers out there. That situation even has happened here in my place wherein common in cockfighting because if you insist to ask them how much they got from the winning they will always tell you that nothing is left or even tell you they still lose in that winning match. Well maybe they counted their previous loses and the prize they got is I think not enough to cover all the loses they have got before.

I believe that we are going to really not care about how much we have exactly when we gamble, as long as we have enough to gamble then we would. In my nation gambling some games are allowed, sportsbook mainly and not casino games and I can tell you that people do not care about the exact number and that is why I believe that people don't care about this. I think it should be pointed out that we should consider just gambling with whatever we can, sometimes we could gamble five bucks and sometimes we gamble fifty bucks it all depends on what we have at that point and nothing more.

Where I live they tell the people who play in casinos that they are vicious, and in Colombia they call people who take drugs vicious, I understand by vice that it is the person who does not stop doing an activity, even if they don't eat or something They don't care about just satisfying the desire to play, that's something I don't see well, but there are people who are like that and for that reason some people can't give up things because they're thinking about it, they confuse the term, I think about addiction, in addiction there is some vice, but I see vice as something that brings bad consequences and that makes people almost let themselves die.

For me, addictions are different from vices, because vices have a lot to do with things that should not be allowed, because I believe that a vice brings bad consequences for the people who are around them and who are capable of doing anything. so that they do not occur.

Bosses, or people who have a lot of money, sometimes do not give importance to what they spend, that is one of the reasons why they have a lot, and that is why they spend it like this, this is something that can happen very often and it may make a difference, in this case it is not only with them I think that many people who have money are like that they do not Measure , in the case of the others I believe that what one can control is only what they are going to spend when they are going to play Otherwise it is not possible to do it Because if you let yourself be carried away by the emonines things can be very bad and you can lose everything.

I have always said that to do things well you have to Visualize , you have to see if a large Expense can have many Consequences and that Translates into problems in every sense if the importance is not given or given, that is where the problems of Addiction arise and everyone who has to deal with it is something very difficult.

Yeah, got your point there mate. Once a gambler will always be a gambler hehe. I can relate to what you are saying as well because it didn't matter how much i have won, always came back until i lost it all but that habit is what i'm working on right now. Gamble a little then if it loses then i call it a day.

If bosses learn about gambling in the workplace about a employee there will be a negative reaction from superiors. Every employee should at least not disclose their gambling in the workplace. I have an experience in a garment factory and I saw that in the evening 20-minute break, many of the workers would request to deposit their money into gambling apps. They used to have big gambling discussion in the tea shop. After betting, they would quickly go back to their work and in between work they would also check their smart phone to see the status of their bet. I gave that support directly to a few gamblers but later it started negative effects and I advised them to be careful about it.

Not considering how much you have before you gamble is not a good financial management practice and you can easing run in financial crises. Even gamblers who felt they had enough and then gambled without control later regretted it because they lost everything. Gamblers no matter how wealthy you think you are shouldn’t be carried away when you gamble. There should be control both emotion and financial when we gamble. This will certainly prevent us from so many gambling-related troubles.

Knowing the amount of resources at hand allows gamblers to manage the risk associated with gambling. Setting a budget and sticking to it can help prevent excessive losses that may lead to financial distress. Avoiding situations where one risks more than they are prepared to lose can reduce negative emotions associated with financial losses. Responsible gambling practices emphasize the importance of staying within one’s means and avoiding excessive or compulsive behaviour and the only way to know when you are gambling excessively is to know how much at your disposal.

I think right, all gamblers not care with how much money losses in gambling and they keep make deposit and spending much money for gambling, usually if gamblers take care with how much money losses in gambling they will remember and won't deposit any more comparison how much money deposit than how small withdrawing. Have been addict in gambling not care how much money losses in gambling and they will try to win large amount before quite from gambling forever.

Difference with my country about gambling regulation, there are restrict and not allow but if you use crypto gambling casino is easily to make deposit and withdrawing fund than gambling platform with fiat deposit fund support.
