I will not even compare these currencies. Man, stay away from Ripple better. Besides ETH, you can deal with NEO, Ontology, Qtum and OmiseGO.

I think you are right. You must also consider, that there is a bumpy road for ETH, as the transition from proof of work to proof of stake, increases the risk for investors.

I will still choose Ethereum because most of the values of the ICO campaign are based on Ethereum. That is still higher than. And I still think of it as next to Bitcoin. The price difference between both should not be a factor to buy or not to buy because after all, you measure your loss by percentage, if you buy in to XRP and ETH both with $1000 each and XRP took a hit -%10 and same ETH took a hit -%10 if you measure your loss it will be the same $100. $0.10 have the same chance to go down %10 same as $125 coin.
With that being said I think Ethereum is more superior than XRP and the future will prove that.

Both Ethereum and Ripple are trusted coins and they are worthy enough for holding or long-term investment. I myself will chose Ethereum to become one of the most promising coin to HODL. But, I think I will choose Ripple better than ETH for the trading.

I like both. Ripple and ethereum is good coin for short term and do trading. I have used both to do it. For now I used ethereum for trading and ripple for short term investment.

For now, I personally prefer ripple. Because I see ripple XRP is very potential and good for trading. It is very potential.

Currently XPP is in the position of 2 Coinmarketcap, and shifts the position of Ethereum. But for me, Ethereum is the best altcoin of other coins. If we are talking the crypto at this recent real time, I keep preferably for the Ripple. I also believe in the future of ethereum. There is a good team behind this coin and we hope to see good updates to it soon, including its scaling. Although the price of ethereum is much higher than that of ripple, it is nevertheless underestimated and should grow in the near future.

I think It depends what investing do you want to do. Ethereum is better than ripple in market cap and more popular.. But I think ripple is more profitable for daily trading. Ripple is bank coin, I see ripple has potential to compete with ethereum.

I'm not a fan of Ripple, although their project is strong and backed by a great community but I would advice you stay away from them cause their team are kind of shady, they normally dump their xrp on the poor plebs, which in turn drags the price of xrp down, even their CEO is guilty of it, so for me I would rather invest in Ethereum instead of Ripple.
