The term "Epic Sat" refers to the first satoshi of each Bitcoin halving era, which occurs about every four years. Recently, the first Epic Sat from the 2024 halving sold for over $2 million at auction, sparking intrigue around these rare units.

In this case, the Binance user withdrew a transaction containing the Epic Sat from the 420,000th Bitcoin block in 2016. Binance failed to identify and retain the UTXO that contained the valuable satoshi for itself, representing a potential multi-million dollar oversight.

Vez ou outra surge a discussão sobre a possibilidade de "adivinhar" uma chave privada utilizando brute force. Ou simplesmente sair adicionando palavras aleatoriamente e gerando carteiras na tentativa de achar algum saldo.

Isso nunca funciona. Existe uma imagem que ilustra isso perfeitamente, que eu sempre gosto de compartilhar.

There are way too many  mixing services getting banned from bitcointalk. There is a new one now:

Jambler.io is now banned from BTT, they provided technical services to mixers and are now considered mixers.

It will probably create an ANN here and stuff like that. I think this forum should try to create as much community support for mixers as possible. There is a huge gap for that in the internet.

Forum related / Local Board Flags

I understand that adding flags to local boards is something that fits the design of the forum.

However, this is quite complicated, because local boards aren't based in a location, but in a language.

For example, Portuguese local board have 99% of Brazilians posters (i haven't even seen a someone from elsewhere yet), and we see a Portugal flag when we log in.

Is it possible to add more flags? maybe remove them?

What do you guys think?

I know this is problematic and it is difficult to find a solution.

Ever wandered which coins have max supply, like Bitcoin?

As the halving approaches, many people might be asking this question about other altcoins.

If a coin has a halving or something similar, it must likely have a max supply ( because of mathematics).

If you go to coinmarketcap you can check if a coin has a max supply or not. Take a look at the Circulating supply column.
If there is a progress bar, this coin has a maximum allowed supply.

Of the largest coins, only BTC XRP and ADA have a maximum supply. Other coins may be minted out to infinite.

Gas measures the amount of computational power that an operation (transaction) will consume. Gas is what fuels ethereum network. It is also what protects it against spam and Ddos attacks.

Payment for computation is made in the form of a gas fee, must be paid in Ethereum native token (eth).

Gas Limit and Gas Price attributes define the total cost of your transactions:

Transaction Cost = Gas Limit *  (base fee + priority fee)
Base fee: Amount of Gwei you are willing to spend per unit of gas.
Priority fee (tip): it is a tip that you add as an incentive for miners so they have incentives not to mine empty blocks.
Gas Limit: Maximum amount of units of gas that you will spend on the transaction.

Gas is usually quoted in Gwei. Gwei is a unit of of Ethereum.
The smallest ethereum denomination is wei. Both as named after Wei Dai,  the creator of b-money.

current version: 0.2

I have created a browser extension for Firefox and Chromium browsers (i.e. Chrome and Edge) that provides additional features to altcoinstalk and bitcointalk posts interface. You will be able to easily see add price image, address balance, transaction details and recommended fees.
Currently, this works for bitcoin only. I will try to add some additional features for different cryptocurrencies, as my API already supports them.

After clicking in any of the new buttons, you will automacatically post the Bitcoin Price Image, address balance Image, transactions details, etc. See screenshot below.


You can also customize your image with the buttons on the right (Bold, Fiat Currency and Color).
