Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Cost of living
« on: May 08, 2024, 06:09:40 PM »
...
How can you help the government better than the tax we paid dully? As a responsible citizen and obedient one, paying our taxes help the governments to raise more money and with more money, they can execute more project for people that are lacking, without these taxes been paid, we will both suffer for it because the government wouldn't be able to do much.

Furthermore, if the citizens are helping the government to put taxes together, I hope they also put it in good use and not spend it unnecessary things or loot it for their own family and encourage corruption activities.

There is one simple and quality option - not only to pay taxes (obligations of a citizen) but also to demand from the authorities to use them reasonably, not to violate the law, and to fulfill obligations to the citizens of the country.
The authorities are not mythical demigods, they are hired managers who are entrusted by the population of the country to do some work for their wages, which we all pay by taxes.

PS Unless, of course, you live in a totalitarian country or a country led by religious fanatics.
Yeah exactly. But unfortunately I am living in a country which for me is home for majority of corrupt politicians the reason why worthy concrete roads will be purposely rebuilt so they are able to get kickback from the project. Even in disaster hit areas, international aids sometimes won't make it to it's beneficiaries because it will be repacked by corrupt organizers designated by corrupt politicians.

Over the past few years inflation has been increasing all over world and with the start of Ukraine war it has even deteriorated. The food prices have been shooting up and it has increased the cost of living and made life especially of the middle class and poor people miserable. In many countries corrupt politicians and elite business community have been using this situation for their own benefits.
I think that is the new normal nowadays. 😅 This is why we need to achieve financial freedom through crypto so that we are not affected by inflation and other manipulation in the society. War for me is another form of manipulation because we all know it is one of the most successful business people aren't aware of.
As you mentioned, war is a form of manipulation, perhaps this makes sense, when a lot of new technology is created and a country has an unlimited amount of wealth, it will have the potential to dominate the battlefield, but do we realize that this is a very selfish nature? What is the fate of those who are victims of war? Are people's lives determined by the greed of a country that likes war?
Sad reality about war is that it is the most profitable business to date created by oligarchs around the world and they don't care about the innocent victims. Wars also caused by greed as you have said and for me that is pretty accurate.

I do not think so, it’s like saying we don’t need money, but money sustains life. It will always depend on how you used your money. There are many meaningful things you can used money; e.g., build hospitals, feed the homeless, build schools, fund to teach people, charity works, help technology, supporting the government on enhancing its citizens way of living, and other many things you can do with money that is worthwhile. I have read about “the love of money”, it talks about every behavior of an individual not money itself that is the source of all different types of evil and distress. Money is ethically neutral; I believe there is naught wrong with money or the ownership of wealth. But, once money starts to control a person that is when the trouble began. People being controlled by money will feel superior and takes pride for power which leads to greediness and obsessions of an individual. He or She will enjoy the luxury of life, they will use their money to dictate and control other people for his or her will. Money is a necessity that is why people do fraud, insult, kill, and do bad things to have it. Hence, it is not “the money” but “the love of it” is the root of all evil.

When I hear people say that money is the root of all evil, I look at them like people speaking without knowledge..
In the society today, i will say that 99% of man's problems has only one solution which is money, making money to he able to afford what you want is what every body wants.
Money is not the root of all evil, because money can do good things in the society..
Speaking of those saying money is the root if all evil, have you ever imagined a life without money?? You'll suffer.
Make money legitimately and enjoy all the good things in life .
Have you ever observed who are those people who most of the time say the quote "money is the root of all evil"? Because in my personal observation here in my place when asked about this topic they answers it irresponsibly and unfortunately most of them are in poverty and is uneducated financially.
Root of evil they say because they are on a condition on which they dont have money and on the time that you do see someone having tons then they would be having impressions that those people are really that involved into something illegal without even trying out to realize that someones wealth do come from hardwork but well there might be some who do go into the wrong path but only a few. Not to discriminate those poor people but this kind of reasoning does really that shows about having that jealousy about others or someones financial condition.
Well, we cant really be able to avoid such reality on where inequality is inevitable.
I would say people with poor mindset do say stupid things to others just like how they think about money being the root of all evil, isn't it that funny right? 😅 I am poor guy myself but I am not thinking something like that and yeah you are correct that inequality is inevitable especially in the society. Money for me is just a tool that we can use and that includes how we use them either good or bad.

After halving we have not seen any positive things happen in the market but according to predictions the halving does not alter the price faster so as we have experienced 73k$ before halving so without doubt we will see price movement more than 73k$ after halving.
Before halving and ETF approval, I had always said and anticipated that two will derive the market!
  • US ETF
  • Halving bull run

I said, if A refuses to move the market, that B will. And fortunately A already moved the market. We shouldn't expect the effect of B almost immediately.
Does this mean there is a good opportunity for the price of bitcoin in the future? because remembering what you have said that some group A has moved markets.
Well for me yes it does. Bitcoins price on much wider time frame will prove that claim because it is still rallying upwards to this day. I mean very bullish so much better for you to fill your bags before new ATH will come or else it will be another year that you've missed the train just like me as I've missed previous bullruns and I hate to think it would happen again to me in the future.

People are really going  for bitcoin than gold because of many reasons whereby they see its more safe and affordable to invest on than gold, when we consider the aspect that gold is being centralized whereas bitcoin is not, you will also need a large amount of money before you invest on gold unlike bitcoin, whereby as little as possible amount of money can be use to start an investment in it.
according to the Poll it is bitcoin that wins because this has been tackled here in crypto forum , but for those who are into physical investment for sure they will disagree in the result .

I am for bitcoin also but not of because being safer as this is also a riskier investment but because of the best return that i cannot find in gold or other investment form.
Yeah it is all the matter of choice either we like to invest in centralized assets or decentralized ones like Bitcoin. But in my own perspective people are now trying to jump into Bitcoin because of some positive events. The only thing with Bitcoin is that it is a high risk high reward investment whereas gold it is more stable physical asset that does not gave opportunities like Bitcoin.

Decentralization is probably the best attribute of Bitcoin and it is what makes it the most beautiful currency in the world because no other currency is as decentralized as Bitcoin in the whole world. Bitcoin promotes individuality and financial privacy that a lot of people wanted but never got but now with Bitcoin, a person can have their money stored in a safe place while no one apart from them knows about it nor they can access it.

There are a lot of other factors as well that make Bitcoin attractive, one being it's volatile nature because people know if they buy Bitcoin today and store it, they can get more value for their money in the next few years which has made it so popular these days.
The fact that Bitcoin is the pioneering in the decentralization that is what it makes so beautiful though Bitcoin as a form of payment is a failure to me but it doesn't matter because Bitcoin has became the best investment in the history of cryptocurrency and it was proven and tested by early adopters.

Though privacy coins also existed but yeah it all came in the idea of Bitcoin so it was still credited to Bitcoin in terms of blockchain  technology.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What Happened To Bitcoin?
« on: May 08, 2024, 03:54:46 PM »
"Those who involved themselves in Bitcoin markets after 2017 encountered a different operation and ideal than those who came before. Today, no one much cares about what came before, speaking of 2010-2016. They are only watching the upward price momentum and are thrilled for the increase in the asset valuation of their portfolio.

Have you then consider the reason why many people do this, its because they have realized that the past is gone already and there is nothing you can do towards that again, but we all have the ability to influence the future right now from our decision taken today, that is why those that invested lately never consider themselves as late investors, because they realized that opportunity in bitcoin network is a continuous expectation they can always achieve with time.
I agree. I think one of the reason why people are only watching the price momentum because of the fact that we treat Bitcoin as the best investment rather than using it as payment method. The potential of making Bitcoin as an investment is quite huge and it offers tons of opportunities we can grab compared to using it as a payment system dwhich is for me not an option anymore due to some reasons like high fees.

Philippines (Tagalog) / Re: Mempool Observer Topic

Update lang tayo sa fees mga kabayan.

Code: [Select]
No Priority      Low Priority         Medium Priority     High Priority
12 sat/vB          24 sat/vB            30 sat/vB          34 sat/vB
$1.07               $2.14                  $2.68             $3.04

As of this post nasa 19sats/vb yung lowest priority medyo mas mababa compared dyan sa fee update mo kabayan.

Philippines (Tagalog) / Re: Bitcoin Stocked sa 63k
« on: May 08, 2024, 03:32:24 PM »
Napapansin kong ilang araw or magisang linggo na tayong nakabaon sa 63-64k and parang walang magandang paparating sa bitcoin itong mga susunod na araw .

Any reason sa pagfkakaintindi nyo bakit nasa ganitong position tayo now?

Regardless of price movements safe na safe yan in the long run. Though nakikita ko sa chart nakalimutan ko kung anong timeframe yun medyo sideways nga yung price ni Bitcoin pero yeah maraming pwedeng mangyari dyan at wala naman talagang tiyak na sagot kung saan sya patungo down ba or up.

Gambling discussion / Re: Do you tell your husband you gamble?
« on: May 06, 2024, 07:32:13 PM »
If you are gambling with you husband's money and have won  a big jackpot then it is most likely that your husband would be happy if you tell him about it. If your family is not financially very well off and you are gambling with your husband's hard earned money and making a big loss then it may ruin your marital life.
Well yeah that is why it is important to have communication with your partner so things are going easy and good as long as you two agree on specific thing like gambling. We all know that gambling seems to be part of humans life but yeah it all still depends upon the situation no matter what.

Gambling discussion / Re: How did the gambling life Start?
« on: May 06, 2024, 07:28:12 PM »
I am personally a fan of lottery as well as it is one of the most common gambling here in my country aside from cockfighting and card games. Well still majority of my bets were just donations better term for "loss" 😅 my winnings does not guarantee any gains from my previous losses to be honest but right now I refrain on placing bets because something controversial had happened to our lottery here in my country so yeah no gambling for now.

If you are referring to trading contest and stuff you can head to popular exchanges since they always have that event with huge prize pool so maybe you should try it out. I wish I can be a profitable trader one day as well as ever since I tried trading I lose every single trade I have that is why I am still in the stage of learning right now.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do you still believe in old coins?
« on: May 06, 2024, 07:13:48 PM »
The oldest coin I've been holding is Bitcoin alone and newer ones are memecoins. I am still hopeful to reach my target to get a whole Bitcoin though I don't have timeframe to really have it but as soon as I have it I'll post it here. It's not that easy to have that challenge knowing that I don't have enough money or weekly Bitcoin income to fill it in but yeah it is the only oldest coin I have for now.

I was surprised with Guyana's percentage growth and of course it's huge deposit of oil reserves. Lucky for them they are rich in natural resources that might push it's economy up. I just don't know when will be fossil fuels become obsolete because of renewable energy.
