I myself also have difficulty which projects are scams and projects that are not scams in one way to avoid scams is to research and always be careful to avoid unpaid campaigns

It is not known in advance which project will be scammed.  However, there are some factors that can be seen that the project will be a scam. Such as fake team members, Plagiarized Whitepaper, newly created social media profile, uncoordinated roadmap etc.

Agree, Escrow in top coins is more safe to reduce scam project team.

You are right. Escrow the bounty rewards before the bounty is launched. This is the best way to secure the payment for the participants. Unfortunately, many of team projects don't want to escrow the rewards. They want distribute the rewards their selves, the bounty managers don't it. While for escrowing top coins, only a few projects want pay with top coins.

While for escrowing top coins, only a few projects want pay with top coins.

If the project team didn't want to pay escrow for top coins, They can escrow at their coins, If course new coins.
That's good way to protect bounty hunter from scam projects.
But, As you said, many project teams didn't want to do it.

This OP was started way back in 2020 almost one year already has passed, but still, the bounty scams persist, and the liquid cryptocurrency paid campaigns have become normal but the budget was reduced too much plus the uncontrolled participation become rampant that's why bounty campaigns are no longer profitable and slowly fading.
