10,000$ worth of Bitcoin or Cash to hold for next 10 years.

It's pretty simple. Would you be comfortable holding 10,000$ cash or 10,000$ worth of bitcoin, say 1BTC?

Crypto currency is a volatile market. In last January, if you were to buy a Bitcoin you would had to spend around $20k means if you spent $10k back then, you would have $5k worth of Bitcoin now. So holding bitcoin back then to now would lose you 50% right?

Now my question is - Bitcoin price may hit $500k or may hit the bottom (by any accident, we never know the future. Say gov regulation etc stuffs). Keeping this in mind, which one you would prefer: $10k cash or $10k worth of bitcoin for the next 10 years from now?

PS: My intention is not to scare anyone so please take it easy.

I prefer to hold $10,000 BTC rather than cash as I am sure that the blockchain technology is a solid platform.

You never know what price is the highest. 10k, 20k 100k then again 30k? When and which one will we have the highest price, we do not know.

Instead of a straight question, I wanted to give you a direction to think. May be for this reason your found it confusing

I know already that crypto market is volitile and l having been hearing this kind of volitility of crypto for some years back but unfortunately, this has not stop bitcoin rapid increase in demand day in day out.
Again, many who entered into crypto 5years or beyond, has no cause to regret their investment or HOLD. Therefore, I am very optimistic that the price of bitcoin will improve the more even as demand is expected to rise in no distance time.

I imagine a world where no fiat but crypto. Now only 21m bitcoin circling around the world means if you have say only 1 bitcoin then you are one of those fiat rich guy

I will definitely choose 1BTC for $10,000 and keep it for a long time because Bitcoin has huge growth potential and it can cost several hundred thousand dollars over the next few years. I am sure that those who also like me believe in the potential of Bitcoin, which is underestimated, will agree with me.

I will definitely hold Btc.  Yes I understand Btc is volatile and there are say 50 50 chances of losing or gaining as compared to fiat which is stable.
One thing  we must know is that, Btc has a potential to be the currency for the future and even with its volatility, you stand the chance to amass wealth if you hodling Btc instead. In ten years time, you can't imagine the value of Btc.

Double profit over 10 years isn't very good profit though.  You would probably be more successful hedging that 10k in 5 or so projects that are in their infancy.  If even one of them succeeded you would likely net far more money over 10 years.  There is a risk that the projects fail, but if you get things that at least met their hard cap in ICO you know they are at least out of the scariest stage of their progress.

Even considering the risks associated with investing in Bitcoin, it makes sense to choose Bitcoin to store it for a long time due to its great potential. I believe that in the future he will increase his price several dozen times and next year he will be able to beat new price records.
