guys before you get all up in arms,
1- we do not have btt's funds, we have a small treasury used for everything including providing liquidity to our token.
2- these emails do not go from 3rd party, they go as newsletter with important info that have been due to be sent to the users since sometime, a forum newsletter if you wish that contain a small ad.
3- this happens rarely: once a every few months, or once-twice a year ... given the amount of spam we receive from all the sites in general, a couple emails a year, not a big issue.
4- if you feel more comfortable, use a unique email, but keep in mind that it would make it more difficult for you to restore your account in case of forgot password, account hacked, etc ...

anyway, will update the wording used, to make it more clear.
Thanks Admin.
I think this should clarify everyone's concerns regarding this matter, I already said I have no problem with emails once a week. and I never found Altcointalks' email to be spammy. in fact, they are very rare. other websites literally spam us with daily emails,
also after the new waves of Signature Campaigns and lots of users teleporting from bitcointalk. activity also increasing rapidly.  I think forum's banner ads could generate a lot more revenue.
Admin can use a cpm adverstiment service like Adsense or any crypto related one for that too.

I also buy this idea, making it a quarterly offer is something well to put in consideration, people will not termed it as spam or even have a second thoughts about what it's intention could be aside what they expect
Yeah, it's also going to be helpful for the forum as they can get paid advertiser who will find that the space for advertisement is available and they won't consider it as spam. Other benefit of quarterly e-mail is that the server won't get overload from it. Admin has already stated that sending such e-mails is a very server intensive task so it's better to do it on quarterly basis to avoid any kind of server slowdowns.

no cpm ads , no tracking
Yes, the CPM ads come with the cost of tracking and it's better to avoid those at even if they can generate 10x more revenue. I believe any service that has tracking should not be implemented on a forum like this for safety of forum and for the safety of the users. I think in a forum like this privacy matters way more than revenue.

email newsletter sent directly from forum software , no third parties
- ads in the newsletter
- no email shared

You know you had to have (due to GDPR) in each newsletter email an "unsubscribe" option? Without it, the domain can be penalized and blacklisted easily. Now I don't remember my registration process, but somewhere during it, there must have been a question about consent to receiving non-system (newsletter) emails.

You know you had to have (due to GDPR) in each newsletter email an "unsubscribe" option? Without it, the domain can be penalized and blacklisted easily. Now I don't remember my registration process, but somewhere during it, there must have been a question about consent to receiving non-system (newsletter) emails.

I think this topic is being overly debated for debate sake.
I understand the concerns about privacy but as i stated there will be no 3rd party involved.
Concerning the newsletter, it is a forum newsletter, that is sent as update to the users of the forum, i will soon update and announce that newsletter is required for operation of this forum, and by signing up you are required to accept receiving this newsletter.
There will be an option of unsubscribing that will consist of either deletion of account, or another less drastic option.

Good thing if that's the case, I'm worrying the most about the third-party use email newsletters.

You know you had to have (due to GDPR) in each newsletter email an "unsubscribe" option? Without it, the domain can be penalized and blacklisted easily.
Now, that's legal stuff out there that needs to be addressed. I checked bitcointalk it has an "Unsubscribe" link.

Now I don't remember my registration process, but somewhere during it, there must have been a question about consent to receiving non-system (newsletter) emails.
I checked, my welcome email here but I can't see any consent or note about a newsletter
