Title: Holding Or Trading?
Post by: bosshyip on May 18, 2018, 12:14:28 AM
There is always a trading poetential in every type of market be it bull or bear. But trading is only profitable if you understand the market dynamics and can predict or speculate the coming trend using charts. But if you don't understand them at all, then trading can get you rekt. For the beginners, it is always better to buy in Q1 and sell in Q4 and thus go for a year long investment. I am preferring futures trading ATM. Shorting can still be very risky so I tend to go for longs often. But this is the risky game as exchanges who own the data of traders are manipulating price heavily an thus, stay cautious while trading.

Actually, it all depends on what style you want to play, you want to play it fast or in a long-term one. If you have that enough time to spend, play the trading (can be the daily trade or hourly trade) with you choose how long you'll play it. In other hands, if you want to make it easy (and you don't need a quick cash right now) hodling can be a good choice to do.

Nah, I'm not giving that trust anymore to the what-so-called "signals". It's often got mistaken by the unresponsible person who tells the specified price to go up/down, while in reality, they do the opposite.

For me it is holding because in holding you can observe first on how the market flow then you can think about if it is okay to trade it or not. Then you can trade it once the price is getting high and you know that you can gain high profit.

I personally divide my earnings into what-so-called "hot and cold" pocket. Some of my cash is used in trading (this is the hot one), and some of them is freezed for future trade/withdraw.

I prefer to trade to multiply BTC.. im more of a maximalist.. theres lots of alts I like fundamentally but as a trader I feel the safest holding BTC over anything else.

Holding in a bull market is a great option but holding in a bear market like now is a mistake.
Check one of the altcoins for instance, a coin which worth 40k satoshis is around 20k right now. If you hold for 5 months you lost half of the btc you had

Trading is the most profitable way to gain money but it's also dangerous to loss everything. I have trade previously but in a smaller amount but it does not make any sense to me because the profit is very small also. If I gain capital from bounty it would be great to start trading.

For me, it depend on the market situation and our need.
But to know the right time for trading or holding, it needs a lot of experience.
The very basic principle: people sell on high price and hold on low price.

The strategy is really depends on the market situation.
For me trading is only good once there is a stable market condition but when the market is dropping i think the best option is to hold and patiently waiting until the market fully recover.

Trading is good for quick profits, HODL is great for long-term investments. All have their respective roles, when you can do both then you are a great person.

after I think and read it here for me to do trading crypto still need process and enough experience, so I currently not dare to take that big risk, because I can not understand about trade, the first step I want to take is to invest , that's in my opinion not too risky for a newbie like me at the moment.

For now I prefer to hold all my tokens while the market is still very weak because trading may risk our investment due to continues fluctuation of cryptocurrency and still no signs of recovering.

I am currently holding coins that are for long term and then trading coins. Specifically, I am holding bitcoin for long term and I am accumulating more by trading altcoins. Altcoins rise more compared to bitcoin but it also drops more so it is important to have a trading plan always to have risk management and avoid having bigger losses. I don't want to repeat the same mistakes I have before.

I usually prefer trading to holding. However,in very tight situation when the crypto market is down and market prices of many coins are not appreciable, i try my best to hold for as long as i can. But on a normal day, i trade to make profit and reinvest.

It's best to have the ability to trade in any market condition and have the strong hands to handle shake outs. It's a tough task though as the market can go crazy in an instant.

I think it is resistant, because for now the price of Altcoin on the crypto market is very cheap because the market price follows the price of Bitcoin. so in my opinion now is the right time to invest by buying as much as possible, then holding it and selling it at high prices.

In any asset, there is significant informational asymmetry between insiders and outsiders. In stocks, insiders are people like executives and mutual funds who have material, unfair advantage over outsiders who don’t have access to the latest financials, board room meeting minutes, etc. In cryptocurrencies, insiders are 1) the executives of the companies behind cryptocurrency tokens, 2) mining pools, and 3) large holders (i.e. “whales”). Regardless of the asset, insiders have access to critical information sooner than the outsiders, which allows them to buy before rallies, or sell before selloffs.

Unless you are an insider, this informational asymmetry is bad if left unregulated, because it rigs the game in favor of insiders. In the long run, this will discourage outsiders from investing at all, because they want to avoid losing money. If unmitigated insider trading activity dominates, then investors will eventually become jaded with investing in general and move onto other assets that promote fair trading activities.

I would not be surprised if the market falls even lower, though there was a rebound in prices. You can buy more on the drawdown of the market.

Holding or trading is an option. If you feel that trading is more profitable, then do it. You can join the ICO to get a profit. But if you are worried about joining an ICO, then hold the coins and sell when prices rise.

Yes, I have read a lot here that crypto investment and trading are very risky, and I decided to enter the crypto world, and whatever the risks, I will be ready to accept that, because I am sure that with me entering the crypto world, I will achieve success, even though this is a big risk that I take.

Holding. I hold the coin because the market is currently unstable. A few days ago all the coins were seen pumping and all the coins were seen in the green zone. But today I see bloodshed happening again in the market cap. So the safe way to stay here is to hold the coin.

Trading may not be very profitable because market is in downtrend for a long time, so I prefer to make holding in this period. Holding is a very useful strategy when bull started. Therefore I'm going to wait for a while rather than trading.

The only trades you can really clear on very well right now is bitcoin long and shorts.. many alt positions are very risky unless you purchased at the bottom when the market plummeted below 200 billion. The market is showing signs of being weak and could easily revisit so whatever alts you're holding in profit, you better really like them long-term and be willing to ride out the turbulence.

personally i would say trading was a combination from analyzing and feeling (luck factor), thats is 2 important factor which can make you gain big profit in a day trading, analyze the market situations is the key for choosing what will you do, invest in short term, or in long term.

Another way that I recommend to do (at least for me) is to split up the savings for short and long term of use. So you have some of your money invested into a good long-term coin (BTC, ETH, or other top listed currencies), and the other one to the "actively traded" coins for quick cash.

I will do trading than the Hold Cryptocurrency I have. Because with trading we can benefit with small targets but several times the transaction. Instead of holding the assets that have been knowlessly when the price will reverse. Because the market will fluctuate and the price of the price will quickly turn again again. Do trading by scalping when the price is moving in a narrow range.

Holding or trading depends on the time and effort you are willing to put into the investment instrument, holding is more to a set and forget trading whereas trading will be a more fast pace and require you to be focusing on your computer screen intensively.

The decision to trade or hold is largely dependent upon the market situation.
If it's a bearish market, the best is to buy some more and hold.
