If in the community I think ripple is best. ripple works closely with banks and that's what makes ripple technology in use in banks.

I think ripple does not focusing to be better than bitcoin or ethereum but recovering to gain the popularity and make it own dynasty in crypto through banks in real world. What I mean ripple's focus now is no other itself. To make it more popular than today, to make it more attractive.

Yes ripple is doing better and we can see it through the result of being stable of its price while majority is crashing but compare to bitcoin and eth it will not become outstanding.

Ripple is doing great from past few years and through advancements it made in April will take it to a whole new level.
I'd like to mention them as no one did in previous comments.
The XRP holders have been eagerly waiting for the beginning of several very important projects that are currently in Ripple’s pipeline for a few months. Some of these projects include acceptance of XRP as a valid currency for cross-border payments by Western Union and MoneyGram, launching of mobile XRP by Santander Bank, and many more. Once these projects come to fruition, trading would become even more lucrative and convenient for XRP users.
One of the reasons that the aforementioned projects are still in the pipeline is two major recent developments. Here, those two updates and their positive impact on Ripple’s future would be discussed.
The Implementation of the Cobalt Algorithm:
The Cobalt algorithm was first introduced by Ethan MacBrough, a Ripple employee as well as a renowned crypto-architect. The sole purpose of designing this algorithm is to increase the transaction speed to a great extent. On 27th March 2018, the implementation of this ingenious algorithm was officially announced by Ripple’s #DevelopmentTeam . Once this project is complete, the XRP holders would be able to take advantage of the following nonpareil features:
a. Lightning Fast Cross-border Transaction: The Cobalt algorithm would mitigate the time for a cross-border transaction to nearly 1 second. Previously, Ripple’s cross-border transactions used to take three to four seconds. Therefore, this new implementation would increase Ripple’s speed by nearly 75% which means the number of overall transactions would also increase accordingly. With such a gargantuan boost in a daily transaction, Ripple’s popularity to the traders is very likely to escalate further.
b. Increasing Stability: According to Ethan MacBrough’s paper, the Cobalt algorithm would work in networks with no global agreement on the participants of a particular transaction as well as with non-uniform trust. This algorithm would also ensure forward progress even in case of arbitrary asynchrony. This will indubitably increase Ripple’s reliability as a decentralized transaction protocol and would make it even more stable.
c. Eliminating Transaction Stoppage: The implementation of Cobalt would eliminate the occurrence of any stoppage in a transaction. So, the transaction procedure would never stop even if there is a delay in transmission. In case of transmission delays due to lack of consensus voting, the process will simply slow down a bit rather than stopping completely. This implementation of Cobalt would also strengthen the financial security of Ripple for hackers and malware.
The Partnership with Hyperledger:

Ripple began its partnership with the Hyperledger Consortium on 28th March 2018. Hyperledger is a blockchain consortium supported by Linux Foundation that helps in developing new distributive ledgers. Hyperledger has been contributing to the cryptocurrency market since 2015. By partnering with this consortium, Ripple has opened several new possibilities. Because of this partnership, the cryptocurrency developers all around the world would be able to access the Interledger Protocol or ILP. ILP was previously operable on the traditional JavaScript Algorithm which was retooled and modified by Ripple last year.
This partnership would not only boost Ripple’s price considerably but also accelerate the developmental process of blockchain application.
Ripple’s Current State and Speculation:
Because of the two updates mentioned above Ripple has exhibited a steady upward trend in its price for the past few days. As of this moment, 1 Ripple is equivalent to approximately $0.5 and its overall market capitalization is circa $19.6 Billion (According to the data of 5th April 2018).
With these two major events along with many other projects yet to begin, Ripple’s future seems veritably bright. Despite the fact that the entire crypto-market acts like a giant bubble sometimes, Ripple is likely to satisfy its users in future as well. The Cobalt algorithm implementation and Hyperledger partnership would only turn this reliable cryptocurrency even more reliable.

Despite the severe unrest all over the cryptocurrency market, Ripple has managed to hold its usual position during the first quarter with some sporadic slipups. According to their report, an amount of 16.6 million USD worth XRP was directly purchased by the market participants during this quarter. Moreover, the Ripple team was able to sell $151.1 million worth Ripple coins as a small percentage of their overall exchange volume.

Still in cool and relax. Ripple did not bother itself into market instability at this moment. Sleepy or not yet time to get up is what I think ripple doing. I don't really what the next big thing in this coin. Let us hope for the best.

This, of course, is another big blow to Ripple fanatics. As of this writing, the price of XRP continues its downward trajectory - down 11.76 percent over a 24-hour basis according to CoinMarketCap data (https://coinmarketcap.com/) and down 1 percent on the hour. As a matter of fact, other major names are also flashing red. For example, bitcoin is down 4.86 percent over a 24-hour period after it dropped from its $7,000 support zone on Tuesday.

Doing the best as long as they can while the the market price indication of ripple is nothing improvement so far. Maybe after all of waiting ripple will really soar high above any other except from some altcoins and bitcoin.

Altcoins, if paired with Bitcoin, then Altcoins will remain.
It's hard for Ripple to beat Bitcoin, but if you use Ethereum it's very easy for Ripple and now Ripple is ranked 2.

Ripple is a valid altcoin, but I'd like to define it as an *othercoin*, because of it is a protocol and not a crypto.
Indeed, it is a way to best move and manage fiat money, reducising fees and material costs.
For this specification, could be a good investment because classic broker can consider it a bank system improvement.

It was truly a perfect achievement if the Ripple entered the number 2 coinmarketcap.

This year Ripple is dropped again from second place in coinmarketcap although still Ripple doing better at the current situation Ripple is the best rival of ethereum so Ripple is slowly increasing their market capitalization so this year Ripple is the best choice for earn profits.

Ripple is the most reliable cryptocurrency in cryptomarket and it's successful Bank cryptocurrency in cryptomarket  of course still Ripple performance is very better in the bearish situation currently it's stay in second place in coinmarketcap I think definitely will Ripple proves itself once again.

With the current drop of Bitcoin, now Ripple is trying to hold the support $0.3, hope that Ripple can hold this line longer ot we will see another higher low of Ripple in this year

Currently Ripple is doing perfect in cryptomarket because it has best technology so don't worry about scalability and Ripple development is looking good so Ripple is going forward to good future.

The current status is very promising and good to know. Even if it is overtaken by Ethereum and move to third place, people still continue investing in Ripple and make it be their recommended coin to buy. I believe Ripple will be always as favorite coin and survive to be in good demand.

You are right, my friend. We must forget that Ripple (XRP) has been in third place. I think it is no problem for the reason of investing and buying XRP. I always believe that XRP becomes the most favorite coin in the future because of its potential profits through trading or investing.
