Cryptocurrency Trading / Is Bitcoin still respecting Technical Analysis?
« on: December 14, 2018, 03:04:55 PM »
From January 2018 to date, Bitcoin and altcoins have been on a free fall, to the extent Technical Analysis by so called experts in the space have not been respected. Several times supports zones have been breached by the fall in BTC especially, thus making a mess of TAs. So I ask, at this rate, is it safe to still regard TAs churned out by these experts, or it's better to simply observe the market and work with Fundamentals

Cryptocurrency discussions / Worry less, some people are worse hit
« on: December 11, 2018, 12:38:45 PM »
The crypto world is currently is one replete with so many levels of emotion and reactions various levels of loses experienced by people. While some people are stunned about the monies they've lost, we should also take a minute or two think about people some of these coins at their ATH in December of 2017, people who bought BTC @ $19k, ETH @ $1200 Ripple @ $3, NEO @ $168, etc. Most of these guys have almost lost their entire investment and what is preventing a total is the fact that they're yet to sell, some have chosen to hodl which for me the best decision.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Every crypto enthusiast must know this
« on: November 15, 2018, 09:25:24 AM »
This is one very important piece of information that every crypto enthusiast needs to imbibe. That the price of a coin is at it's lowest doesn't mean it's a good bargain, it may as well go from there way lower and eventually become worthless. So, sometimes the much anticipated pump on a coin may never happen leaving people highly disappointed. Always know when to pull the plug on a coin. What's your thought on this?

Reputation, Scams & Phishing / MapleChangeEx Exit Scam
« on: October 29, 2018, 12:26:47 AM »
Reason the crypto world is referred to as the wild wild west. You go bed and wake up your money is gone with the wind.

MapleChangeEx posted an exit scam earlier today citing hacks and all. But having been in this space for a while, we all know this is a well orchestrated exit scam.

This is one of the reasons crypto is struggling with widesread adoption as a lot of investors are scared of coming into a space that's unregulated and can make you get rekt in a second. Here's hoping their users get their money back even though very unlikely. Also hoping they get prosecuted under the Canadian laws

This is also one of the reasons we are advised not to leave money on the exchanges.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Bounties Are A Complete Mess Now
« on: October 20, 2018, 10:07:07 PM »
Bounties are a complete nowadays, from getting terminated midway because an ICO failed, to payments not being made because the project teams have simply disappeared.. The space has become a wild wild west in it's totality. This is a direct fallout from the state of the crypto market in general.

ICOs are failing because they're increasingly not being able to gain the confidence of the investing public. Some of these projects in all honesty have no business coming into the crypto space, as their value proposition isn't convincing enough. Again, with the spate of scam projects now, many people simply do not trust any project to invest their money, for fear of being scammed and losing scarce resources.

Bounty hunters are on the receiving end, because an investor may choose not to invest in an ICO and status quo remains, but a bounty hunter has most likely invested time and resources in promoting a project, before investor thinks of investing. It's a sad situation these days. Time and effort wasted. Feels as though I should take a break from bounty participation for a while until the market bounces back. Who shares this thoughts with me?

I woke up to the news and FUD surrounding the USDT it seems like a lot of people and traders are trapped right now as we speak. This is because people who hold USDT are terrified and are buying BTC, but holding BTC on exchanges with Tether is also very dangerous because of the huge premium. So what can they do? Withdraw and send to a fiat exchange would make them lose 10% of their capital instantly as well, because of the difference.

A friend tried tried to convert his USDT to TUSD, and what he was supposed to be getting in return is supposed to be in the ratio of 1:1,but the disparity is that of $1450 to $1185 in TUSD. A lot of losses being encountered by those who are attempting it

Cryptocurrency discussions / Average Down Explanation Needed
« on: October 13, 2018, 09:57:29 PM »
Guys, I need to understand the concept of averaging down in crypto, especially when you're at a loss. I hear a few persons talk about it as a strategy they adopted when a coin they've bought drops in price sharply. But it seems to me that more money is being invested in the process. What happens if there's further loss incurred after buying more, do you keep buying or simply stop? I need clarifications

Litecoin Forum / LTC Affected By The Price Of BTC
« on: October 08, 2018, 02:21:04 PM »
Guys, it seems to me the price of LTC is directly affected by the price movements of BTC. I've noticed this afternoon that before BTC spiked in price to $6640, LTC was around $57 and now it's at $59. Is there a correlation between the two?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Trading Tips for Newbies
« on: October 02, 2018, 11:24:43 AM »
As a newbie in the crypto space, I'm sure you have been exposed to a few tips on how to trade, but I'll just add this just in case you want to try your hands on trading;

Ensure you don’t apply technical analysis for coins that have low market cap & low volume. Technical analysis works only with high marketcap, high volume coins like BTC, ETH, XRP, EOS, etc.

Low market cap coins can move 500% in a day & crash 99% in a day. So it is highly important to trade them with extreme caution.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis
« on: October 01, 2018, 03:28:53 PM »
Having been in this space for a while now, I have noticed crypto assets tend to obey more of fundamentals than the technical. News tend to effect the price movements of these coins more. So I ask, as a crypto trader, which of them do you rely on the most, Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis?

Sorting Box / Reaction to first info about Bitcoin
« on: October 01, 2018, 12:51:51 AM »
I first heard of cryptocurrencies from a pastor, on a Sunday afternoon in 2012. I remember vividly he advised me to research Bitcoin and what it's all about. I simply just ignored and moved on with my life until last 2017 when someone invited me to a seminar in Lagos. I probably would become a lot more richer if I had joined earlier.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Effect Of Crypto on Everyday Life
« on: September 30, 2018, 03:02:09 PM »
Having been in this space for quite a while now, I see myself being affected by some of terminologies in crypto. Recently I noticed that I tend to spell HOLD as HODL in my emails or letters at work and I don't notice until the computer highlights it as not being correct. :D

How has crypto affected you?

Cryptocurrency Trading / 1broker.com Taken Over By The FBI
« on: September 28, 2018, 05:04:26 PM »
This isn't intended to create FUD or something, but a friend has his trading funds on 1broker.com confiscated because the site has been taken over by the FBI. The charge is trading in security without compliance and engaging in security swap. The crypto space is a highly volatile one, as the tendency of losing one's funds is really high.

I also suspect Binance might get the hammer soon for dealing with American customers even though they claim not be operating within the jurisdiction. They also declined in participating in a survey conducted by the US Attorney-General's Office which will require them providing information on the demography of their users.

Cryptocurrency discussions / EOS Early Executives Leave
« on: September 28, 2018, 03:00:33 PM »
EOS is so unbelievable right now. Reading this news saddens me, especially as EOS had almost a year long ICO, raking in a lot money in the process. Dan Larimer is now someone not to be reckoned with in this space. I'm pretty much disappointed!
