Forum related / Campaigns and Forums Traffic
« on: April 27, 2024, 10:38:58 PM »
Hopefully this is the right Board to ask this. Well it's nothing much just some question about activeness of members in the forum.
I think there have been some decline in the number of active members for sometime now
1. Is this as a result of low /lack of signature campaign
2. Or it's because of the low traffic that there's low number of campaigns
3. Or maybe both
4. Or The forum is still it's growing phase and haven't gotten to the height of having active users per hour in Thousands or reached campaigns that would be interested in promoting their product.

The essence of this is it's like there's a significant relationship between campaigns and how active the forum gets.
TBH joined the forum because it was relatively new and would allow me build a reputation if I joined Now and maybe enable me to gain access to better campaigns in the long run.
There are many users that have stayed in the forum and continue been active not mainly for the monetary benefit but as a form of love for their community.
I know belongness as times goes on starts overwhelming monetary benefits while in a community but before then did Campaign play a role in making you active or your desire to seek more knowledge?
Thank you.

Bitcoin Forum / Bitcoin core v27 Released
« on: April 20, 2024, 04:10:26 PM »
The anticipated Bitcoin core v27.0 has been pre halving. It can be downloaded here from the github link https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/releases/tag/v27.0 for those interested.
The new upgrade has introduced new updates https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/661f6b2b3916d874b667d9d4 which can been seen in the above link. I don't really understand everything that was worked on so clarifications would be appreciated.
It promised improving the loophole that led to the birth of ordinals, was it accomplished?

Bitcoin Forum / Bitcoin price speculation and analysis Thread
« on: April 17, 2024, 02:50:03 PM »
This thread was created to reduce the threads of speculations like would Bitcoin reach $1M, would Bitcoin reach $2K.
Rather than having countless threads on various prices,i felt it would be better to have a thread where we can discuss current prices or speculate with the direction of the market.

As time goes there would be some rules to prevent spamming because I can't self moderate currently, but it's vital that your price speculation should be based on fact or analysis not by emotions.
I'm hoping it would be something like the WO thread where we can discuss, enjoy a bull market and encourage one another during the bears.

If the thread isn't appropriate, then Moderator can do well to inform me so it can be locked.

I thought of using my free time to learn a skill or something and I chose learning how to make signatures. Mind you, I'm barely a newbie like y'all started 2 days ago and felt like sharing the source am using for those interested in making their own signature.
Ngl,  using a image to code app is easier but it's not as sharp and editable like one created manually and this link would be leading to one such thread in Bitcointalk.

[LEARN] BBCode Lessons & Tutorials [+tutorial videos!] created by roslinpl

How to make bitcointalk signatures [ Logo and Images included ] by bilochoa For automatic turning of image to BBC code.(unfortunately user isn't active anymore so couldn't really take permission)

https://orcaforum.kofo.mpg.de/app.php/help/bbcode (personally learnt the basic here)

Don't ask questions relating to BBC code and expect an experts answer am still learning just like you  ;D.
Well the floor is open for questions though
Those experienced can help us trainee out.

Hopefully this is the right board for this and if it isn't I guess I would have to trouble the moderators with helping me move it. Thanks.

Edit : Added portion below.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Be cautious when copying wallet addresses
« on: April 06, 2024, 09:47:10 PM »
I never knew this was possible so usually just copy the address and send without confirming much. Well turns out that was a big mistake on my part. Never knew that clipboard can do such. I don't know if it's a malware, I ended up using an address that wasn't mine and funny holds some units of Bitcoin.

Still confused how something like this could happen,  but try to be cautious and don't feel too lazy to cross check your address before sending or posting. Recall Bitcoin transactions are irreversible after 6 confirmations, once confirmed it's gone. You can tell the wallet address it went to but not the owner. Except they are careless,  which I doubt they are.

News related to Crypto / Most Anticipated Crypto event of April
« on: April 03, 2024, 11:43:57 AM »

This link shows news that would play effects on the direction cryptocurrency would head this month. There are interesting news among but the one am more curious about is The Halving and the CPI data for March which would be released on the tenth of April.

What are your speculations of the CPI data and it's effect on the market ? My personal thoughts using my country as a case study is that interest rate would remain same, cause prices of goods here was relatively stable compare to February.

Would the upcoming halving follow the trend of buying the rumor and selling the news? Is a correction coming before we can see 6 digits price for Bitcoin?

Share your thoughts and give reason why you think so. Your answers could be an advice for me and others who would be interested. Seeing others perspective before making decisions helps in mitigating mistakes.
Contributions would be appreciated.

Bitcoin Forum / Bitcoin core v27 upcoming and effect on Ordinals
« on: March 29, 2024, 02:13:47 PM »
Early this Year, it was stated that the next update on the Bitcoin core which would be v27 would correct The vulnerabilities that was exploited which enabled the creation of ordinals. The flaw I think that was exploited should be the creation of script, Taproot without any limit on the data it can work with. This update is likely to be released this 2024 or subsequent Year.
What are your thoughts on this update?
Would this decision have any impact on Bitcoin price? If yes in what Direction.
Now that the ordinals are about to be removed. Wouldn't this make pre existing ordinals more expensive due to limited /fixed supply?

Bitcoin Forum / Halving likelihood to be in red?
« on: March 20, 2024, 10:47:11 AM »
This is mainly focused on those that deal on future or don't have strong hands because holders can persevere through trying times and come out victorious.
Okay this is born out of my pessimism though. What if the early stage of this halving would be similar to ETF approval.
Like people are already buying the rumor I believe many would sell the news and a dump would occur after or a day/two before the halving.  What are your thoughts on this?
Does selling the news still apply here?

Note :This is not really a advice. In my opinion if you longing bitcoin in future in this coming months do so with sufficient funds and good risk management accompanied by lower leverage.
We all know that there would be a rise after an halving,  but who would benefit are those with strong hands and the ability not to be swayed by market dip.

Still on the topic, what are your thoughts on the early days of this halving?

Forum related / How to add and locate Buddy list
« on: January 19, 2024, 10:55:41 AM »
I found out a recent function on the forum that i think is similar to Bitcoin talk trust list. It enables one to add and remove a buddy( as the name imply, A friend). To add/remove click on the person Name/profile and you would find add to buddy list and it would change to remove from buddy list.

To check buddy list
Click on your profile>modify profile>buddy/ignore list>edit   buddy list.

Currently i can't really use the ignore. I guess its only available to specific badges.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Fear or greed
« on: January 15, 2024, 04:53:03 PM »
Hopefully this falls under trading.
I'm gonna make it short
There are two emotions i believe dictates trade and leads to either gains or losses. Fear and greed.
They are like every investors companion.
Which do you think is more dangerous?

Forum related / Threads that allows the remove or/and icon
« on: January 02, 2024, 10:41:21 PM »
I hope this thread hasn't been created before because i don't even know how to search for it.
A couple of days ago or a day ago can't really recall, i replied a post and realized there was an icon close to the modify icon, called remove which is similar to delete. When i saw it i thought it was like a new update but some minutes ago i posted a reply and couldn't find the icon when i checked.
My questions are
Is it an icon existing only in certain threads?
Was it a glitch? ( highly doubt that though)
Or did i hallucinate it? ( Hopefully is not this)

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Same thing with the notify icon just found out now that some of my post has it while others don't.

No ideas?
@admin clarification would be appreciated.Thank You.

Bitcoin Forum / BTC failing as a payment method
« on: December 28, 2023, 12:05:37 AM »
I have been battling with making a transaction for some days now and the fee is not encouraging
Even viabtc has been taken over by ordinals bot.
Bitcoin was crested to be cheap and fast but the scalability issue is affecting it.
Sigh Making transaction with fiat is way faster and cheaper.

In the festive period where transactions are rampant one can't even get any confirmation without paying an exorbitant fee.
What are your thoughts on this Decembers congestion in the mempool and how were you able to complete your transaction?

Many coins like shibainu, pepe among others has made many see the returns one can gain from ICO's
Neglecting the fact that with great returns comes great risk.
Not all ICO are profitable
Most either performs way poorly than expected(LHINU) or are scam (Aitraider).
Many fall victim of the post of most blogs that this is the next big coin or *30 potential.
There's a reason DYOR exist in the crypto community.
Before entering into any ICO or already listed coin
Investigate the developers, the marketers (this is very important since its tied to how big the community would grow)
Their sponsor's, the community especially through social media platform like X
Not excluding the coin usage, and reason it was created.

Crypto is profitable but associated with its own risk
Do try to research on your own
Rather than following the words of bloggers.
