Sections Banners Bidding 1-15 Jan 2021

All section banners will be available for bidding, payment accepted will be only ALTS

Every 2 weeks the highest bidders gets the banner placements after sending the ALTS payment.
At start i will permit anyone to join including people involved in this project and mods and global mods.
Within few month from launching this bidding option, people involved in altt and mods will no longer be able to bid, and thus the bidding will be only open to projects.

I reserve the right to refuse any banner due to any reason, including : sexual, violence, scam, etc ...

Requirement : It is recommended to have the tokens on your account 48h before end of bidding, as we might ask for immediate payment once the bidding ends, or only grant the spot to those who had the tokens 48h before end of bidding.

How bidding Works?
- Starting bid is 200 ALTS per section
- You can not bid on a specific section, you bid in general for 1 or more section
- Highest bidders get to chose the sections, lower bidders get to chose from what is left.
- Each bidding round is up for a maximum of 10 days, it can be terminated any time - thus no fixed ending bidding time.
- The banners should be in format 700x60
- No link shortener
- No referral links/tracking links [these only accepted on main banner bid]

example:
user A: bids 400 ALTS for 2 sections and 200 ALTS for 1 section
user B: bids 350 ALTS for 3 sections
user C; bids 250 ALTS for 5 sections
Results in:
user A gets to choose 2 sections first, then user B gets to choose 3 sections, then user C chooses 5 sections, then user A chooses the remaining 1 section.


Bidding can stop any time

After the bidding stops, the highest bidders have 48h to send the ALTS to 0x2143F7146F0AadC0F9d85ea98F23273Da0e002Ab
or pm me, if fails the winning bids will be discarded. And the placement will be given to the second highest or used by admin.
Requirement : It is recommended to have the tokens on your account before bidding, as it might be difficult to acquire the tokens at the last minute.

Maybe it's worth reducing the starting bid if no takers now ALTS price is also at $0.26?

$50 for two weeks banner ad on a local section could seem a little much right now...

To take away local banners from local moderators is, IMHO, not a very nice act.
First gave as a small compensation for the work, and then taken away - it smells like b****t.

I don't know how many bidding participants we will get for the first 2 weeks of 2021, but I am afraid that no one will want to pay 200 ALTS to display a banner in our Vietnamese local forum. AMEPAY only agreed to pay $20 in their AME token/week.
From the point of view of someone who wants to advertise on ALTS, maybe I would choose the large sections and use English.
Currently we have 26 local forums + 25 forums for separate tokens + 10-20 other sections. If the amount of bidding is lower than the number of sections, there will be some sections that cannot display a banner, even if the Mod for that section wants. In my opinion, it is a waste of forum resources.
Should we find a solution to prioritize bidding methods, but still allow Mods to decide the content of the banner if that section is not selected by bidding winners?

tested the mods ads for a month, only few success stories
- 1 mod decided to put a referral link
- 1 mod started requesting multiple categories to be able to get a better price
- 2 other mods got ads for a small amount - if i am not mistaken.
it wasn't really a success story ... and wasn't the best way to be of value to the community
making ALTS more useful is of importance to everyone mods & community

agree starting bid might be too high, will reduce it for next bid.
i do test, and then test again, and then make conclusions ...
your opinion is valid, i will need to look into ways to allow mods to chose a banner if the section is not covered by ads
but also i need to think it through to not have the less active mods/section benefit from the system while active sections are covered by ads ...
some further testing is required
also hopefully a more complete governance body will be formed next year
