Badge "Trusted Escrow"
« on: February 02, 2024, 10:27:30 AM »
On the altcoinstalks forum, there are lots of badges that are owned and that proves that the member has expertise in something that matches the badge.
Like this member who has lots of badges and one of them is the "Translator" badge, which means this member has expertise in changing languages from local languages to global languages.
And I created this topic because I was inspired by the answers of various members who previously did not discuss the Escrow badge. Please check this proof :

Even though I have seen and read that there is a Subforum about Escrow where there is an Admin in the subforum, perhaps all members too, if they have confidence in trading, definitely need the "Trusted Escrow" badge.

In every forum there must be trade and trade requires something called trust.
You need a third member or Escrow to be able to trust that a trade will be successful.
Does the altcoinstalks forum really require a "Trusted Escrow" badge for a trusted member?

I don't really think that is necessary. In my opinion lots of currently available badger are uncessary too. like Translator, and Bounty Manager, becasue there are so many services people can offer, like coding, programming, marketing etc and some people even offer multiple services. if forum start giving a badger for any service they offer, It would be so messy.
I think these kind of things can be added in personal text space, signature space by the speciic person themselves.

~ Does the altcoinstalks forum really require a "Trusted Escrow" badge for a trusted member?
Let the one offering the service prove his trustworthiness to his potential clients/customers. Let those who seek escrow to verify the legitimacy of the offered service without the involvement of the forum admin/officers.

Giving out a trust badge is tantamount to the forum admin/officers vouching for the said escrow. What happens when a newbie trusted that person because of the badge and then he still scammed?

Well anyone with that badge needs to be super trusted by the admins and the people. There are very few that I think fit that title IMO. If the need arises for an escrow I myself would be open to the job but let's see if we even see any trades happen.

I don't really think that is necessary. In my opinion lots of currently available badger are uncessary too.
It could also be like what you mentioned, Translators are also included in the Bounty but the admin made a special badge for Translators.
I see that the member with the username "alltalk" has 7 badges and each badge has its own function.
If he has the "Trusted Escrow" badge, that means there are 8 badges attached to his username.

That's true, it will look messy but this is an altcoinstalks forum and the Admin always gives a surprise at the end of the event. Lets see :)

That means you think the Admin still has to be the "Trusted Escrow" for all trades, right?

What if one day the admin is busy or away from the keyboard (AFK)?
Meanwhile, a member needs the trade immediately because of a sudden need, what do you think?

If the need arises for an escrow I myself would be open to the job but let's see if we even see any trades happen.
If you have a badge "Trusted Escrow" then your badges will increase to 5 and that's great to see.
And I'm sure you are also a trusted person on the Bitcointalk forum.
For trading, it seems that if the forum gets busier then there will definitely be trading, even though maybe once a month there is only 1 transaction.

I can definitely vouch for you. as I said above. these badges are unnecessary and not needed at first place. but if admin decide to add a "Trust" related bagde. then you should be one of them to get one.

It does not necessarily have to be the admin.

But the fact remains that this is going to be one of the most difficult badge he’ll be giving out to forum members because him giving that badge is same as the admin saying “I vouch for them – so you can trust them with your money” if anything goes south he’ll also be blamed for it.

Well we just have to wait and see what the admin comment will be about this “escrow badge” if he’ll be willing to trust any forum member to that extent.

I think you did not understand what you quoted very well.

@Cantsay already said what should have been my response to you (second sentence/paragraph).

Also, did you intentionally omit the part when I said the admin or forum officers doesn't have to be involved in determining who should be the trusted escrow/s?

~ Does the altcoinstalks forum really require a "Trusted Escrow" badge for a trusted member?
Let the one offering the service prove his trustworthiness to his potential clients/customers. Let those who seek escrow to verify the legitimacy of the offered service without the involvement of the forum admin/officers.

Giving out a trust badge is tantamount to the forum admin/officers vouching for the said escrow. What happens when a newbie trusted that person because of the badge and then he still scammed?
Unfortunately we never know when someone will scam. A company could be trusted for 20 years and all the sudden take everyones btc and disappear. ICOs scam all the time, token sales have shown to be scams a good portion of the time, and even trusted escrows have went scam sometimes.

The forum would be put in an awkward spot if an escrow they said is trusted scammed. Probably a reason why the other forum doesn't vouch and doesn't moderate scams.

As far as I know, badges given by the admin are not that easy to give to members.
Each bagde has its own function and meaning and to get it, in my opinion, is very difficult and must be verified several times by the Admin.
For example, I saw an example of the "Translator" badge, this badge is obtained if the member has been verified and has skills as a translator for the language he or she is fluent in. Check out this subforum "Translation Center".

So, not only does it look cool, but the badge has a function that has been verified by the Admin, maybe the OP also has the intention of "Trusted Escrow" to give members who have a trusted function for trading on the altcoinstalks forum. Cmiiw

Well we just have to wait and see what the admin comment will be about this “escrow badge” if he’ll be willing to trust any forum member to that extent.
OK mate, noted.
We have to wait for the admin to comment and provide information regarding this because in my opinion it is quite important for this "Trusted Escrow" badge.

Giving out a trust badge is tantamount to the forum admin/officers vouching for the said escrow.
That means you think the Admin still has to be the "Trusted Escrow" for all trades, right?

What if one day the admin is busy or away from the keyboard (AFK)?
Meanwhile, a member needs the trade immediately because of a sudden need, what do you think?
I think you did not understand what you quoted very well.

@Cantsay already said what should have been my response to you (second sentence/paragraph).

Also, did you intentionally omit the part when I said the admin or forum officers doesn't have to be involved in determining who should be the trusted escrow/s?
Okay mate, I got the point.

Btw, are you interested in getting the "Trusted Escrow" badge?
Or maybe you have offered yourself to the Admin if you want to get the "Trusted Escrow" badge?
Because I see you have quite a lot of experience in altcoinstalks by having the Decentralized Team and Senator badges.
